Laundry can be a surprisingly personal thing - whether you have a special way of hanging out your clothes or a foolproof way of getting your clothes to smell great. With this in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear what you consider the most important when it comes to laundry, and what you’d love your laundry detergent to do.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We have some people tell us that scent is the key to a great wash, others who won’t compromise of softness or those who are all about natural ingredients or the gentleness of the formula. We would love to know what you just cannot not go without?”

Do you focus on getting rid of any odour from your clothes? Perhaps it’s important to you that your laundry products are skin-friendly for the entire family? Maybe you put a lot of energy into keeping your clothes in great condition? Are you a lover of fabric conditioner, keen to ensure that your clothes are all super soft?

Whatever the most important aspect of laundry is to you, share this on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I like my clothes to come out of my washing machine stain free and clean. I love them to feel soft if that is how they are meant to be and also to have a fresh smell. I don't always use fabric conditioner but when I do I like ones with very light scents. I prefer to get that fresh smell by hanging the washing out.

I love the clean fresh smell of laundry. A good long lasting scent is the most important aspect to me :)

ursuslemonade · 19/06/2018 15:32

Priority is that washing comes out clean and smells good.

I prefer my clothes smelling nice but not in that overpowering, headache inducing way. They should have a delicate fresh scent ( dry them outside whenever I can). Tried a few different washing powders but many had such strong scents that I never bought them again. Same goes to fabric softener.

Getting it completed as quickly as possible

Mablethorpe · 19/06/2018 18:23

I want my clothes to smell fresh - I swap brands every few months as I find I get used to the smell and then don’t notice it anymore.

I also want them to be clean, which is a tall order with a ten year old muck-magnet in the house! Sometimes stained clothes get sent to DMs for dealing with as grandmas seem to have mystical stain removing powers!

TiggersAngel7774 · 19/06/2018 18:32

soft feeling fresh clothes

otter099008 · 19/06/2018 19:47

For me it's the scent. Nothing better than getting a load out of the washer and it smelling beautiful!

YayImALlamaAgain · 19/06/2018 20:30

Clean is of course important, but I really like my clothes feeling soft. Especially for DS’ baby skin!

GrooveHeart · 19/06/2018 21:12

Just having everything washed and dried quickly so it smells fresh

MessyMummy15 · 19/06/2018 21:24

With two messy babies and a messier husband, feels like we go through about 5 loads of laundry a day.
I deffo prioritise a washing powder that's gonna take out tough stains first without all the need for rubbing it in and pre washes and all that time consuming stuff. Just a simple stain remover powder that goes in the washing machines, secondly would be smell. It's all good clothes being washed and dry but usually the nice smell has gone by the time it gets taken off the hanger to wear which is a shame.
Never really had an issue with clothes being tough or itchy so that would be lower down the list for me :)
Hope this helps :)

I want a product that works well on an eco wash or a short wash at low temperatures. I also like a neutral smell, not too strong but fresh smelling.

kkhimji · 19/06/2018 23:53

clean smell is important

sofieellis · 20/06/2018 07:57

The most important thing is that it's clean and doesn't irritate sensitive skin. I like it to smell fresh, but that's not as important.

Ferryfairy · 20/06/2018 08:50

Clean first time and doesn't make my clothes too smelly, hate being able to smell my clothes

pandoraskids · 20/06/2018 10:13

Clean, fresh smell

Doodygirl2009 · 20/06/2018 11:14

Fresh smelling, soft and stain free results every wash

JoGodfray · 20/06/2018 12:50

The clothes must smell nice and the fabric must feel nice & soft

AimlesslyPurposeful · 20/06/2018 14:44

I have three boys - Three sweaty boys!

I would like a washing detergent that completely eliminates the awful smell of sweat from their tops. It’s horrible when you’re ironing and the smell of sweat wafts up and you have to re-wash the clothes.

It is lovely when washed clothes smell nice but I would like a detergent that completely removes bad odours rather than masking them.

Catherine000 · 20/06/2018 18:04

Makes the towels come out soft and fluffy!

mwatmough · 20/06/2018 18:55

Clean, fresh smelling and value for money.

BerryBad · 20/06/2018 19:32

The clothes have to be clean. There's nothing more depressing than taking clothes out of the washing machine to find that they're still stained or dirty in some places, very disheartening. Smell and softness are bonus features, but cleanliness has to be the number one priority for me!

buckley1983 · 20/06/2018 22:55

The important thing to me is that the clothes come out looking & smelling fresh & clean!
Time is so precious that one wash should be enough for everyday stains - that's not much to ask is it?! :)

youmeandconchitawurst · 21/06/2018 09:25

that it smells clean, but not fragranced.

greathat · 21/06/2018 10:33

Clean, smells good and doesn't set ds's eczema off

greathat · 21/06/2018 10:34

I'd also like eco friendly!
