Laundry can be a surprisingly personal thing - whether you have a special way of hanging out your clothes or a foolproof way of getting your clothes to smell great. With this in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear what you consider the most important when it comes to laundry, and what you’d love your laundry detergent to do.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We have some people tell us that scent is the key to a great wash, others who won’t compromise of softness or those who are all about natural ingredients or the gentleness of the formula. We would love to know what you just cannot not go without?”

Do you focus on getting rid of any odour from your clothes? Perhaps it’s important to you that your laundry products are skin-friendly for the entire family? Maybe you put a lot of energy into keeping your clothes in great condition? Are you a lover of fabric conditioner, keen to ensure that your clothes are all super soft?

Whatever the most important aspect of laundry is to you, share this on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I love my laundry to smell gorgeous followed by the cleaning power of the detergant, my clothes better be stain free and clean.

cocochips · 17/06/2018 21:10

Clean and smelling fresh

melmoo · 17/06/2018 21:38

First priority is simply keeping up with it all.
No stains and no colour run are next.
And if all that happens and it all smells at least OK then I'm happy.

Waitingforgodot · 17/06/2018 22:23

Clean, smelling amazing and hang the washing outside at any opportunity. Nothing beats the smell of washing that's been hung out to dry, especially bedding.

numptynuts · 17/06/2018 22:49

Pegging our then when try, sniffing every piece of washing as I take it down....

numptynuts · 17/06/2018 22:50

Pegging out

jayd66 · 18/06/2018 00:11

It as to be clean and soft

tigerroundfortea · 18/06/2018 02:11

For me (aside from being gentle on the skin and keeping clothes clean and smelling fresh) it has to keep clothes in good condition. I feel great when my favourite clothes have been washed 100x and still come out like new.

I also use washable nappies with fleece linings so stain/odour removal is a biggy, they have to come out soft as a baby's bum!

spudfield · 18/06/2018 04:39

The most important thing is that the clothes have to be clean without needing to use large volumes of powder - my husband is a farmer so his clothes can be unbelievably filthy. I don't find that non bio works as well as bio in this respect. I don't want them to have any noticeable smell/fragrance.

gerispringer · 18/06/2018 06:50

I love washing, it’s not that hard these days is it? Love watching it blowing on the line and that just washed and dried in the sun smell. Now so keen on the ironing, but actually don’t mind that too much, as it gives me an excuse to watch a bit of rubbish TV.

jenlou30 · 18/06/2018 08:23

That it is always kind to my baby's skin and smells amazing while out to dry on the washing line Smile

vickibee · 18/06/2018 12:28

I hang out my washing because it smells of fresh air and not using a drier helps the envirnment. Got a new machine recently with an A plus plus rating. Have noticed an improvement in cleaning ability. Smells. So clean and fresh.

allibaby · 18/06/2018 13:10

For me the most important thing is that it doesn't irritate the skin.
I have psoriasis and have to be careful what detergent I use.
I also need clothing to be soft as anything rough can rub and create open wounds on the psoriasis.

angiehoggett · 18/06/2018 13:48

That it gets things 100% clean and fresh while tackling stains.

choccyp1g · 18/06/2018 14:57

All I care is that it is Clean. Which means no marks on it, so I suppose I could say clean and stain free, but that would be repeating myself.

choccyp1g · 18/06/2018 14:58

angiehoggett I don't want it to "tackle" stains, I want them gone!

ShowgirlnamedLola · 18/06/2018 19:14

Sensitive on my family's skin is number one. Getting clothes clean is second. Smells nice is third but still important

badgermum · 18/06/2018 20:17

Freshness is my main laundry aim, whether its bedding, towels or even my teens smelly socks, I want that lovely fresh smell and feel from my laundry

PrinceOfCheeses · 18/06/2018 20:50

That it doesn't make the kids's skin explode and that it dries in the sun shine.

OrlandaFuriosa · 18/06/2018 22:17

Cleans and does not irritate three sets of sensitive skin.

wobblebot · 18/06/2018 22:38

I love a strong scent and any bacteria killed from DH's work shirts (so hard to get rid of the armpit smell without dettol detergent)

altergeist · 19/06/2018 12:09

The most important element is doing it in a timely enough fashion that everyone has sufficient clean clothes. The second most important element is doing it as infrequently as sock/underpant supplies will allow.

NorthernJugni · 19/06/2018 13:29

I suppose the real point of laundry is to clean- but the sense of comfort and home you get from nice-smelling laundry is huge.
