Fairy Non Bio is sponsoring the Mumsnet Talk App and in light of this they’d like to see what you have to talk about when it comes to your household washing schedule. Do you manage to get by on just a couple of loads a week or do four a day just to keep up with your kids? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to be able to send it all away to be done for you? Do you have a set day for each kind of washing load or just shove things in as they look like they might need doing? Whatever your washing schedule, let Fairy Non Bio know by sharing in a post below.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes and your skin, and so it’s suitable for the whole family, no matter how many washes you’re doing each week.”

So, alongside the Fairy Non Bio sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, they’d like you to talk about the washing schedule your household has. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

Colours every couple of days so maybe 4 or 5?
Whites x1
Towels x1
Bedding x2

I guess its about 8 or 9 per week during term time. About quadruple that when they're all spilling stuff at home in the holidays Xmas Hmm

I probably do 4-5 loads a week and it's just me DP and our 1 year old! Don't know where all the clothes come from Shock

Report
muminthecity · 08/12/2016 11:39

Only about 4-5 loads in total here.

1x whites
1x darks
1x mixed
1x towels
1x bedding

Some weeks I don't change the beds so would only do 4 loads that week. I do it all at the weekend, never have the washing machine on the week. Only me and one child in the house though, and she's clean and tidy so doesn't create much extra washing.

Myself, two kids and a dog

I do two clothes loads a week - I don't separate colours/whites I just bung it all in
It's usually school uniform, pyjamas, trackies, leggings, tshirts and underwear so it's not a lot.

One towels load a week
Bedding gets done once a month, usually two loads.

The dogs stuff gets done if it's sunny enough to hang out (hardly ever!!)

A million, it feels like.
Actually, one every day and if I want to get towels/bedding done, an extra. So 8-9ish? For two adults and two kids, the smallest of which is in cloth nappies. No where to blooming dry it all, either.

I try to do a mixed colours load every other day. I tumble dry some and hand out others, which usually take hate best part of 2 days to dry properly.

I wash towels separately every 3-4 days and always tumble dry those, so they're warm and fluffy, and ready for use same day.

Beds get changed fortnightly so are occasionally an extra wash added in that week.

It just so happens that the washing machine can take 2 days worth of outfits for me and two small boys, so I always know it will fit in just fine. If there's any room left I will sometimes go hunting round for the odd jumper lying around to add in.

White have to be weekly because of school shirts, so that's when my underwear and hair towel etc get washed at the same time. It's always Friday night or Saturday morning so the shirts can be dry for Monday.

It feels like I'm always washing because there's always something to put away, or washing hanging out to dry, or a new load going in!

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children who are conscious of how much water and electricity can be wasted by doing too much laundry (well I am, anyway!)

I do one or two white bedding/towel washes every week plus a 'colours' and a 'black' wash; a total of approximately 4-5 washes per week.

When the children were little, I used to use washable nappies so did a couple of those per week too.

During school holidays, we seem to have a big increase in washing as the children tend to wear a new outfit every day which gets put in the laundry basket even if it isn't that dirty. Whereas during term-time, school uniform might last 2-3 days, even a week for skirts/cardigans with no spillages.

Usually about five, two adults and a toddler here.

Me, DP and two pets here.

I probably do two loads of colours a week (so our clothes) and then a wash of either pet blankets, towels, or bedding once a week on a sort of rotation.... Blush

I do all housework/cooking etc in the morning in my pjs so my clothes don't get very dirty and can be worn a few times. DP gets utterly filthy at work (farmer) but doesn't own many clothes, so will wear the same part of diesel covered jeans for a week until I wrestle them off him.

Too many!

There are 5 adults, 1 pre teen and a pre schooler. DH does a mucky outdoor job that generates about 4 loads of washing a week (that need a prewash and extra rinses to get the clothes looking any where near to clean).

With towels and bedding I reckon I easily do upwards of 25 loads a week. Drying it all is a huge problem in the winter too!

There's me, DH and DD in the house. We easily do at least 6 loads a week.

A combination of our clothes, bedding, towels and DD's clothes (she gets through several outfits a day. Weaning is messy!)

We're a family of two adults, a toddler and a baby. In a good week, including bedding and towels, four washes.

This week we're potty training DD. Started on Saturday and have done eight loads since then (and that's no grown up clothes, bedding or towels yet).

There are four in my household- DH and 6 month old twins. I do at least two loads a day- sometimes more if we have a bed change or accidents. I'd do more but limited on drying space! Secretly love washing though so it's never too much of a chore :)

There's 2 adults and 2 children here including a mucky toddler. We do at least 1 load every day usually more. As soon as there's enough for a load the washing machine goes on. I wash towels weekly and bedding fortnightly unless the kids beds need doing sooner.

LittleMoonbuggy · 08/12/2016 16:33

We wash every other day usually, 4 loads a week. I mix colours and use a colour catcher.

Bedding washed fortnightly in winter, weekly in warmer months when can be dried outside. I only tumble dry bedding.
