Fairy Non Bio is sponsoring the Mumsnet Talk App and in light of this they’d like to see what you have to talk about when it comes to your household washing schedule. Do you manage to get by on just a couple of loads a week or do four a day just to keep up with your kids? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to be able to send it all away to be done for you? Do you have a set day for each kind of washing load or just shove things in as they look like they might need doing? Whatever your washing schedule, let Fairy Non Bio know by sharing in a post below.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes and your skin, and so it’s suitable for the whole family, no matter how many washes you’re doing each week.”

So, alongside the Fairy Non Bio sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, they’d like you to talk about the washing schedule your household has. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

Family of 4, comprising of 2 adults an 11 and 5 year old. Washing machine goes on about 5 times in the week. One load of whites, one lights and 3 dark loads.

sleepyMe12 · 10/12/2016 14:01

Myself, partner two children soon to be three.
Easy do 8+ washes a week
Whites
Lights
Colours
Darks
Towels etc
The last two weeks or so have been doing FIL washing aswell as his machine has broken down so an extra 2/3 washes there.

SixtyDegreesNorth · 10/12/2016 14:06

Mixed wash daily
Bedding fortnightly, towels the other fortnight
Swim kit twice a week
At least 4 washes at the weekend

14 a week.

On a good week.

Gorja · 10/12/2016 14:08

At least two a day here. Four kids, dog, cats, husband and his work uniform and my work uniform daily.
I have no objections to the washing and drying it's the putting away that reduces me to tears!

YoullNeverWeeAlone · 10/12/2016 14:35

Hundreds, or at least it feels that way!

3 loads for bedding
1 towels
1 swimming stuff
3 light
2 dark
1 colours
1 delicate

Plus possibly a couple of other random ones to wash borrowed clothes to return to school if youngest dc had an accident, or someone needs something specific clean for the next day (to be fair, that person is usually me at the moment but with 3 DD it is only going to get worse...).

I hate laundry, although it's the putting away which I really can't stand.

CheeseEMouse · 10/12/2016 14:54

I have come to conclude doing washing is a continuous process rather than anything that can be completed. I think we average out at a load a day, with 2adults and 2 childreb

OldBooks · 10/12/2016 15:02

At least 1 load a day, probably 10 a week once 'special' washes like towels and bedding are included. That's with a mucky toddler who still has the odd potty accident, a baby still in the spit up all over self and mummy stage, me leaking breast milk everywhere and DH doing sports 3x a week.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 10/12/2016 15:03

I do 4 for the 5 of us. We have a machine with extra large capacity and it saves quite a bit of hassle.

smallchair · 10/12/2016 15:10

I do around 5-6 loads a week, 2 adults, 2 kids and we are farmers so the clothes are utterly filthy

mareandtwofoals · 10/12/2016 15:37

I do a load every night (Economy 7 electricity so far cheaper at night!). The 7 loads probably breaks down as:
3xcoloured
2xdarks
1xwhite
That is for a family of 4, including 2 young children.

Wearegoingtobedlehem · 10/12/2016 15:46

Far too many here, 11 + I do:
1x towels
1x bedding
1x kitchen linen
4 + coloureds
1x whites
3x husbands stinky farm wear

We all go through quite a lot of clothes as a farming family- outdoor jobs clothes are rarely worm more than once esp this time of year as mucky.

BeeMyBaby · 10/12/2016 16:15

About 6 or 7 at the moment as there's 7 people in the household

AveEldon · 10/12/2016 16:22

Bed linen x4
Towels x 3
Shirts x2
Other loads about 10

Constantly washing and folding here - 6 people in our household

itshappenedagain · 10/12/2016 16:54

House hold of 3, I do three loads a day sometimes 4 at the weekend. I have children with allergies so everything gets washed. Plus I love the clean bed feeling, so wash bedding at least twice a week.

kateandme · 10/12/2016 17:12

always try and do it throughout the night before 7am and the price hike.
id say without fail usualy there is a wash on a night every night. and we have sometimes another if we can squeeze in before the price change.
either or we don't have colour or white days just whats in the basket and try to gather whats most there.

e1y1 · 10/12/2016 18:19

Four of us here and around 15 loads on a normal week and 25-30 loads a week where there are extras (shower curtains, throws etc).

SaladDressing · 10/12/2016 18:26

Family of 3 and we do at least a load a day - often two. DS plays sport every day, I run and DH plays sport so we have a lot of muddy/sweaty kit along with uniform, work clothes etc.

BigFatBollocks · 10/12/2016 19:31

Must do about 15 a week (do school uniforms every day). Me, 3 kids, cat, dog and a guineapig!

megletthesecond · 10/12/2016 19:52

Me and 2 dc's. Approx 12 loads a week.

Mini loads for swimming kit / gym kit. I prefer to do smaller loads of normal clothes every day and keep on top of laundry. I've tried saving it up for full loads but it goes horribly wrong and I can't blitz it at the weekend. Little and often works for our house.

TheShrew · 10/12/2016 20:24

Family of four and I do about 10 /12 loads a week Shock my house is always full of washing drying out, it's relentless!

Sofabitch · 10/12/2016 20:27

At least 2 loads every weekday. And then im sure my washer doesn't stop all weekend! Especially if the children tidy their rooms... i have no idea whwre it all comes from.

Theimpossiblegirl · 10/12/2016 20:31

1 a day on average, but every so often a mountain of teenage girls' clothing appears and I have to do extra.

MetalLaLa · 10/12/2016 20:38

Family of three here (one DC) and we do around seven loads a week. Two loads twice a week of clothes, two loads once a week on a friday for towels and bath mats, one load for all of our bedsheets. I try and do clothes loads on a Tuesday and Friday/Saturday if I can.

bluebump · 10/12/2016 20:43

Me and my DS.
Probably 2 coloured washes a week
1 x bedding a week (one week mine, the next his)
1 x towels

Tumble drier broke last winter so currently still giving things an airing outside but otherwise it's drying all over the house which is driving me nuts and making me aware of how much washing I'm doing.
