Fairy Non Bio is sponsoring the Mumsnet Talk App and in light of this they’d like to see what you have to talk about when it comes to your household washing schedule. Do you manage to get by on just a couple of loads a week or do four a day just to keep up with your kids? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to be able to send it all away to be done for you? Do you have a set day for each kind of washing load or just shove things in as they look like they might need doing? Whatever your washing schedule, let Fairy Non Bio know by sharing in a post below.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes and your skin, and so it’s suitable for the whole family, no matter how many washes you’re doing each week.”

So, alongside the Fairy Non Bio sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, they’d like you to talk about the washing schedule your household has. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

4 or 5 loads a week. Our washing machine is a whopper though (I can get all the bedding in one load) and I don't sort darks from lights very strictly.

NickyEds · 08/12/2016 17:59

2 adults and 2 dc (17 months and almost 3)in our house and we do at least 7 loads, sometimes up to 10 loads a week.
3 loads- bedding and towels
3-4 loads clothes (all just go in together)
2-3 loads of things like buggy blankets, snow suits, coats, dressing gowns etc.

oliversax · 08/12/2016 18:14

2 adults and 2 children here. I probably average about 1 a day. Variations of whites, dark colours, light colours, towels & bedding. We just bought a 9kg capacity machine which helps.

IncaAztec · 08/12/2016 18:21

Around 10 loads - 1 per day then:
White's
Towels
Bedding

HubrisComicGhoul · 08/12/2016 18:59

2 adults and 3 children mean I'm doing at least one wash a day during the week and between 2 and 4 at the weekend. So between 9 and 13, which is insane Shock

No wonder I never counted It before!

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/12/2016 19:12

Lots
1x whites 1 or 2 light/ bright colours, 2 x dark colours, 1x jeans, 1x woolies/ delicate, 2 x towels, 2x bed clothes once a fortnight.

Think that's it.

Jamhandprints · 08/12/2016 19:21

I do about 8 loads a week. All mixed at 40'c except one load of towels and cloths at 60'c. I do laundry twice every other day. I should do more, as we do have a mountain of clothes waiting to go in but I dont have space to dry any quicker.

BellaVida · 08/12/2016 19:24

6 of us. A load a day, plus 4 over the weekend. More if I'm doing bedding!

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 08/12/2016 20:33

Friday - Saturday we do a darks load, a whites load and a colours load. That gets all uniforms and PE kits ready for Monday. Other than that? We just do it as-and-when. Probably at least one load every other day in winter (rack-dry indoors dictates how much we can wash), whereas in summer it's "Sunny day? Get 4 loads done, pronto!"

Plus there's our bed-wetter, who knocks any laundry plans out of synch.

OverScentedFanjo · 08/12/2016 20:35

About two loads a day. So 12-14 a week.

Two adults, one child and a cat. No idea where all the clothes and towels come from. I'm constantly washing. I have a 9kg washing machine as well. So if it was a small drum you could double that.

coulditbeforever · 08/12/2016 20:47

2 Adults, 2 Children
1x whites
1x blacks
2x coloureds
3 x bedding
Football kits, plus P.E & Rugby kit
Bathroom & toilet mats

ClassmateHB · 08/12/2016 20:47

A school uniform wash every two to three days. A wash of my work clothes every week. Bedsheets once a fortnight, towels roughly the same. Sports wear once a week. One adult, two kids, just about right I think?

1happyhippie · 08/12/2016 20:52

My washing machine is on once everyday. Three children here.
bedding once a week
Towels twice a week.

So I do at least 10 washes a week,
Nothing nicer, than clean fresh clothes and bedding

Bauble16 · 08/12/2016 21:02

At least 5 and we are a household of 4 with a 13kg drum!

MeAndTheMajor · 08/12/2016 21:03

I wash most days. Over the course of a week I normally do:

2x coloured
1 x dark
1 x white
1 x hotwash for towels
1 x 30 degree wash
1 x bedding

Usually about seven loads per week for two adults and two kids.

CMOTDibbler · 08/12/2016 21:06

2 bedding and towels
4 dark
2 sports
1 light

In the summer, there is rather more sports washing!

nemno · 08/12/2016 21:26

As and when the basket looks fullish. Probably only do about 4 loads a week, 1 towel or bedding, 2 colours and 1 whites. Just 2 adults here at the moment.

whirliegig · 08/12/2016 21:31

I have a Magic Laundry Basket, which works in a similar manner to the Magic Porridge Pot - no matter how much you take out, it never empties and next time you look it is full again.

Washing is an ongoing operation here - a load every second day or so and continually ( it seems) at the weekend.

2 adults, 3 teenagers and a primary schooler in the household.

Hippychick3 · 08/12/2016 22:00

2 adults 3 children two washes a day most days but not all I reckon about ten loads (7kg machine)

ILikeBigBumpsAndICannotLie · 08/12/2016 22:19

Four to five loads a week here between three of us. Swimming stuff on its own. Two darks, one or two lights. Delicates when I can be fussed.

goldenretriever1978 · 08/12/2016 22:26

Probably around 6 loads a week on a good week.

BruthasTortoise · 08/12/2016 22:33

At least 2 a day - 7 people in our family and clean shirts required every day!

Nineloves1 · 08/12/2016 22:41

We now only need to do a wash daily as we have a larger capacity machine.

I tend to only wash a full load.
Swimwear goes on a quick rinse, and I do an extra wash at the weekend for bedding. If I get round to reusing cloth nappies for the baby it will be an extra wash every 1-2 days.

VioletRoar · 08/12/2016 22:41

2 adults
3 children (one of whom is a bed wetter)

No less than 2 loads a day, sometimes 3. We have a small 5kg machine. 3 of us play football so muddy kit twice -3 times a week. It's never ending.

MuppetsChristmasCarol · 08/12/2016 23:22

At the moment, around one clothes/bedding wash a day (alternate between dark wash and white wash) and one nappy wash every other day. I can't believe how much more washing one small baby creates compared to when it was just me and DH!
