The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!
Xmas Smile

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product events, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A £100 Mitchells & Butlers dining out gift card or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A selection of the new range of Bassetts Vitamins worth over £15 and tailored to you and your family's needs or
~ One of 20 chances to win a Cadbury’s selection box

In 2015, we have given away over £40,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers but also products including iPad minis, a van full of mini milks, a year's supply of ASDA Little Angels nappies, and excursions such as a family ticket to the Harry Potter studio, an annual family membership to Historic Royal Palaces, and a 7-night camping holiday!

The range of products you have tested and given feedback on is as varied as ever – from Miele tumble dryers and vacuum cleaners, Kenwood kCook food processors, Snazaroo facepaint to Bear Paws and Anchor butter!

We have also run some extremely popular threads, enabling you to have your say on a varied range of topics from the things you let your kids get away with when they’re poorly, to your child’s rapper name, and your ideal celebrity cinema buddy! Recently, the issue of real or fake Christmas trees stirred great debate amongst you Mumsnetters.

We love meeting you face to face – and giving you the chance to experience something new – from a crash course on all things digital with Barclays' Digital Driving License, to a children’s shoe fitting experience with Brantano. Many of you put the new kids' menu at Café Rouge with your family to the MN test.

There was even the chance to test drive the SEAT Alhambra, to see the videos click , as well as visit Thorpe Park again this year.

And ta-da can you spot our new insight ads on this thread, unveiled for the first time? Look out for them across MN in the future.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about. Or tell us what you’d like to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely (and fast growing) insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! [santa]
AnnMumsnet, FreyaMumsnet, AngelieMumsnet, and ZaneMumsnet.

ive joined and yet to test a product...excited! :)

cocochips · 28/12/2015 21:38

I would love to review books next year

balloon66 · 28/12/2015 21:44

Id love to test a carpet cleaner- had borrowed ones from friends and none seem particularly good

marshgirl · 28/12/2015 21:59

I have only just signed up to the product testing today so look forward to what is in store for 2016.

AugustRose · 28/12/2015 22:16

I have been selected for a few tests this year, mainly the mobile phone test which was fun - I liked the 'covert' style of the secret thread for the first few weeks and that we weren't allowed to tell anyone :)

I have also been picked for the Cadbury panel but a little upset that we haven't had anything to do on that yet, hopefully soon. We also go the Bassetts Vitamins which I have to say I have continued to buy since.

I really enjoy reading the threads and seeing how people agree or disagree on a product. It's always fun and I love getting the 'you've been selected messages' they really cheer up my day, is that a little sad?

RunningGingerFreckleyThing · 28/12/2015 23:46

I was selected for a few books, testing nappies, snacks and the TomTom sat nav one. Really enjoyed them all and reading all the different opinions on the thread after.
No preferences for 2016 but looking forward to being picked for more!
Agree with the previously made point that some tests are London centred.

Longtal · 29/12/2015 00:41

Well, I would've loved to have got more involved, but started the year mourning the death of my gorgeous and amazing mum; as if that wasn't enough, my husband was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia - so he's been (with the exception of about 6 weeks) in hospital since July. He's recently had a bone marrow transplant and we're now playing the waiting game.

Given carte blanche - I would love to test the modern day 'VW Golf R32' - I would like to read about how parents and families suddenly cope when their income goes straight to benefits overnight - we're really struggling.

Other than that - let's hope 2016 is better. I am going to be 50 (god that sounds terrible - half a century) on new years eve and can't go out as my husband isn't allowed in crowds - so champagne to test for the new year would be lovely too. Happy new year to all ;-) xx

lexiemac13 · 29/12/2015 01:40

We enjoyed testing the Aveeno lotion. My son who suffers from eczema only uses Aveeno as a moisturiser now and also the bath oil for cleansing thanks to testing them out. We also loved the WaterWipes! I'd love to test a new washing machine or other household products out next year. I love trying out all different cleaning products and would especially love to try a window vac or pressure washer!

TiggersAngel7774 · 29/12/2015 02:12

didnt know about insight panel and my son is 8 in few days so have signed up , thanks x

Stoodles · 29/12/2015 09:36

I'd like to test new ingredients. I enjoy coking from scratch, and like every meal to be different

AnnMumsnet · 29/12/2015 10:34

Cadbury panel stuff will follow in the new year!

thanks for all the comments; keep 'em coming!

I haven`t tested anything this year but have written lots of reviews on things I have bought or done. Highlight was our annual trip to London. I would like to be involved in days out or cookery.

MummyBtothree · 29/12/2015 15:07

Ive absolutely loved taking part in the product reviews (when selected) as I suffer from depression and I get a real boost out of receiving that email to say ive been chosen. I would love to see reviews on here for clothing and cosmetics.

WarmHugs · 29/12/2015 18:25

I've enjoyed testing a few things this year, I especially like testing things that I wouldn't normally buy.

I enjoyed the cinema screening, as I love involving the DCs. Days out are so expensive these days, it was a welcome day out for them!

billybear · 29/12/2015 19:15

love testing things a real buzz getting a parcel or letter that's not junk or a bill. tested nappies,on cadburys one still waiting for that love chocolate, agree not keen on videoing things, would love top make shampoo, or electricial goods never get picked for them

worriedmum46 · 29/12/2015 19:55

I've not been picked for any te stings. After a visit from my helpful MIL I need a new blender she killed mine :(

I'd also love to try GF foods if they come up. My doc will not give my coeliac daughter items on prescription and it costs a fortune especially trying new items that she finds she dislikes.

Donnylover · 29/12/2015 19:57

About to sign up - I would like to product test healthy things.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/12/2015 19:59

I haven't had much to test this year, sadly, but have been pleased to get a couple of books. As I always say, I'd love to see more stuff for teens and oldies and if you fancy sending a dishwasher my way, I would be delighted! We've never had one.

VickyRsuperstar · 29/12/2015 20:07

I really enjoy entering the competitions to try to win cash or vouchers. I entered loads of them on here last year, I didn't win any but it was fun to post on the threads and dream!
I'd still like to see all the cash and vouchers competitions and I'd love to see a prize of a trip to Paulton's Park as that is something we did once in 2013 and the kids really enjoyed it. (Although our family has 11 members so winning a family ticket wouldn't quite work for us!) I'd also like the chance to test and review gadgets or appliances. I don't mind doing a video review so long as my face doesn't have to be in it LOL!

baconbap · 29/12/2015 20:55

I found the tumble dryer product reviews really helpful

JulesJules · 29/12/2015 22:37

Oh, well looking forward to the Cadbury panel in the new year then!

I always like being asked for my opinion on stuff. Makes me feel important Grin

I've had an Amazon voucher this year which was very nice.

Tonkatol · 29/12/2015 22:45

I enjoyed testing the Snazaroo face paints this year - over the years I have developed an intense dislike of face painting as I never seem to be able to match the expertise of the pictures. However, I was really pleasantly surprised by the Snazaroo face paints as they were easy to apply and produced great effects. For next year, I would love to product test a freezer - with all the publicity about not wasting food, I would love a larger freezer to see if I can stretch our family budget and waste less food.

SweetPeaPods · 30/12/2015 00:36

We haven't been very lucky with product tests this year. We would love to test more household products or anything that will be helpful with 2 toddlers.
I'm another who would rather not do video reviews which excludes me from some. Love reading others reviews though, I've often bought a product to try after reading mn reviews.

snare · 30/12/2015 07:34

I enjoyed the ice lolly's - kids loved them too :)

myusername12345 · 30/12/2015 11:02

I enjoyed reading about the testing of the breast pump, as I am trying to find out about all these kinds of things during pregnancy
