The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!
Xmas Smile

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product events, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A £100 Mitchells & Butlers dining out gift card or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A selection of the new range of Bassetts Vitamins worth over £15 and tailored to you and your family's needs or
~ One of 20 chances to win a Cadbury’s selection box

In 2015, we have given away over £40,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers but also products including iPad minis, a van full of mini milks, a year's supply of ASDA Little Angels nappies, and excursions such as a family ticket to the Harry Potter studio, an annual family membership to Historic Royal Palaces, and a 7-night camping holiday!

The range of products you have tested and given feedback on is as varied as ever – from Miele tumble dryers and vacuum cleaners, Kenwood kCook food processors, Snazaroo facepaint to Bear Paws and Anchor butter!

We have also run some extremely popular threads, enabling you to have your say on a varied range of topics from the things you let your kids get away with when they’re poorly, to your child’s rapper name, and your ideal celebrity cinema buddy! Recently, the issue of real or fake Christmas trees stirred great debate amongst you Mumsnetters.

We love meeting you face to face – and giving you the chance to experience something new – from a crash course on all things digital with Barclays' Digital Driving License, to a children’s shoe fitting experience with Brantano. Many of you put the new kids' menu at Café Rouge with your family to the MN test.

There was even the chance to test drive the SEAT Alhambra, to see the videos click , as well as visit Thorpe Park again this year.

And ta-da can you spot our new insight ads on this thread, unveiled for the first time? Look out for them across MN in the future.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about. Or tell us what you’d like to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely (and fast growing) insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! [santa]
AnnMumsnet, FreyaMumsnet, AngelieMumsnet, and ZaneMumsnet.

I didnt take part in any though I did fill in some surveys. i agree that the requirement to video yourself or house can be a big issuefor those who prefer anonymity.

Anomite · 25/12/2015 05:52

This year I feel I have been very lucky indeed..
We did the Anchor butter baking, tried and loved the pampers nappies which I have now switched to, taste tested the Bear Paw's...
Snazeroo face paints and watched hotel Transylvania 2!!!

I have also been selected to be on the Cadburys panel which myself and the other selectees are eagerly awaiting..
I love testing products, my children too.. Thank you Mumsnet!!

EDisFunny · 25/12/2015 10:35

I think it would useful if the brands you worked with better understood that London is not the centre of the universe and sometimes it might be nice to stage events away from London.

I still mourn not being chosen for the Alahambra and Miele product tests, they were ace!

SaltySeaBird · 25/12/2015 13:41

I've been on the panel for about three or four years now and apply for most tests I'm eligible for, unless the product is of no interest at all. I've never been picked for a high value one but have had a few smaller ones.

I've also commented on and taken part in lots of surveys and discussions but not been lucky enough to win. I suspect they attract thousands of participants each time though.

I was excited to be picked for the Cadburys panel about three months ago and then never heard another thing. I think it was a bad idea to select a panel and then do nothing with it at all. I've seen a Cadburys product test since but panelists weren't included. I'd suggest not selecting people to be part of nothing again!

The best test I've done was last year I think for Cif. Not exciting but introduced me to a product I wouldn't have brought but now is a regular item on our shopping list.

The biggest test in terms of value I've ever done was the Little Dish one this year and a few of the dishes were very popular with DD and I buy them regularly.

Next year I'd love to do anything that relates to fitness - from clothing to gadgets. Once DC2 is born anyway!

I'd love to do a test for any household appliances or technology based too. Would love a new cooker!!!

tiddles12 · 26/12/2015 00:55

I didn't even realise you offered product testing on this site and now I am really jealous so am signing up! I would like to product test hand held hoovers.

Rcollins91 · 26/12/2015 06:39

I enjoyed taking part in surveys and would love to test a new pushchair

ThemisA · 26/12/2015 06:59

I would love to product test iRobot Roomba 980 more because of the dog than the kids. My dog has muddy walks most days and free access to the entire house so I have to vacuum every day - if this works well what a difference it could make!

Happy, Healthy, Wealthy New Year All!

stevecurtis · 26/12/2015 08:15

I would like to test the latest tech products.

janeyf1 · 26/12/2015 08:56

I loved reminiscing about favourite Disney films and games as a child. A trip down memory lane always makes me smile.

Chopstheduck · 26/12/2015 09:01

I enjoyed reading about the alhambra testing, i would have liked to have done that! I think the only thing I've ever been chosen for was some laundry detergent.

I'd quite like to test a meal out with my family! Grin

maryandbuzz1 · 26/12/2015 09:08

I haven't done any product testing but find the insight into the products very helpful. It is great to get a review which is unbiased and not too technical.
I am a keen gardener and would love to see gardening products reviewed.

muppet1501 · 26/12/2015 09:26

I've not been lucky enough to be picked for any testing yet, but I'm sure the right one will come along soon. I really like the discussions because it gives a freedom of speech and read and value other peoples advice/opinions.

libra101 · 26/12/2015 09:43

Although not a member of the insight team, have enjoyed reading about various tests and reviews.

The Cadburys Baubles project sounded fun, also Café Rouge.

I am interested in the financial reviews that are carried out and find the intsight and comments invaluable.

alsproject · 26/12/2015 09:47

I'd be interested in testing the tech or kitchen gadgets as I think it would be interesting to find out the ease of use and fatures of the products

Ganne1 · 26/12/2015 09:58

It was good to read about the SEAT from ordinary people, not motoring correspondents

chr1ssy0908 · 26/12/2015 10:25

I too dislike the video reviews that seem to be creeping in. I understand WHY you would have it on the higher value items, making sure that it is a genuine person that is reviewing it, and to be honest I think when reading reviews people do tend to pay more attention to videos rather than written reviews. Not me personally but I think in general they do!

So I will never put myself up for these products as I am painfully shy, and the though of me talking and stating my opinions in a video on the internet terrifies me, I prefer the anonymity of the written reviews.

My daughter has very recently started being tested for a wheat allergy as well as her cows milk protein allergy so I'd love to see some product testing opportunities for allergen free foods!

tabbaz123 · 26/12/2015 10:36

I simply enjoy reading all the comments on here and getting the perspectives of others. As a foster carer for many years I enjoy reading and sharing ideas with others. I would love to test out any household items - especially those that I can share the results with the mums and children I work with....

trueblonde · 26/12/2015 10:38

I never trialed anything this year, by the time i got round to attempting to submit my details i missed the cut off, but thanks to all those who did trial products as they are always helpful

Roraima · 26/12/2015 10:54

I loved all the news about Princess Charlotte of Cambridge! Beautiful! All of it...

lilbooboo · 26/12/2015 11:44

would be interested in testing any product :)

BoltonBex · 26/12/2015 12:06

I'd love to test some new baby products for my new arrival due 1st March

cazzzie987 · 26/12/2015 12:11

I love doing product testing for Body Shop as I love their products and they are cruelty free. I love testing new things, but I don't always see it.

Cailin7 · 26/12/2015 13:06

I have enjoyed the book giveaways and reviews

Kriek · 26/12/2015 13:06

I have had a wonderful time testing various products for Mumsnet. This year my favourite was tasting olives. I got to meet the wonderful Omar Allibhoy and as a result of his amazing recipes I now use olives in several dessert dishes.

Like others I only sign up for things that I am genuinely interested in. I do not mind making videos and the DCs actually like the opening of the box etc when products arrive.

We have recently been picked to test out the Disneylife service. The DCs are really excited about this.

I would love to test some eye-cream, hand cream or treatments, games are always a favourite in our house too. I love cooking and being in the kitchen so any cookery gadget or food would also be great. Finally we love walking and swimming in the Kriek house so any products relating to those.

Thank you to Mumsnet for all the amazing partnerships and offering the Krieks the opportunity to trial some mostly amazing products and services. Grin

angiehoggett · 26/12/2015 13:33

I would love to product test this year, I love trying out new things
