The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!
Xmas Smile

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product events, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A £100 Mitchells & Butlers dining out gift card or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A selection of the new range of Bassetts Vitamins worth over £15 and tailored to you and your family's needs or
~ One of 20 chances to win a Cadbury’s selection box

In 2015, we have given away over £40,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers but also products including iPad minis, a van full of mini milks, a year's supply of ASDA Little Angels nappies, and excursions such as a family ticket to the Harry Potter studio, an annual family membership to Historic Royal Palaces, and a 7-night camping holiday!

The range of products you have tested and given feedback on is as varied as ever – from Miele tumble dryers and vacuum cleaners, Kenwood kCook food processors, Snazaroo facepaint to Bear Paws and Anchor butter!

We have also run some extremely popular threads, enabling you to have your say on a varied range of topics from the things you let your kids get away with when they’re poorly, to your child’s rapper name, and your ideal celebrity cinema buddy! Recently, the issue of real or fake Christmas trees stirred great debate amongst you Mumsnetters.

We love meeting you face to face – and giving you the chance to experience something new – from a crash course on all things digital with Barclays' Digital Driving License, to a children’s shoe fitting experience with Brantano. Many of you put the new kids' menu at Café Rouge with your family to the MN test.

There was even the chance to test drive the SEAT Alhambra, to see the videos click , as well as visit Thorpe Park again this year.

And ta-da can you spot our new insight ads on this thread, unveiled for the first time? Look out for them across MN in the future.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about. Or tell us what you’d like to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely (and fast growing) insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! [santa]
AnnMumsnet, FreyaMumsnet, AngelieMumsnet, and ZaneMumsnet.

I have been picked for the Cadbury panel looking forward that! Love testing products we havent used before or trying new experiences!

lhlee62 · 26/12/2015 15:00

I'v enjoyed talking about most topics, they have been very varied and interesting. I haven't been chosen for anything, but I have enjoyed reading the threads.

allsorts4444 · 26/12/2015 15:45

I am going to be a ftm in April, I have very much enjoyed reading the posts from other ftm and current mums to understand their experiences. It has really helped me and I can't wait to have my baby :)

bevmcomp · 26/12/2015 15:53

The days out are so helpful in choosing where we go as a family and if it's pram friendly, catering facilities, parking etc., as i always like to plan ahead! makes life a lot easier with children..

JoGibbons · 26/12/2015 17:08

I haven't been lucky enough to be picked for product testing, would love to give just about anything a go....books, tickets, pet products, food etc!
My Mumsnet high this year has been with your competitions. I won a family trip to Stratford upon Avon with a hotel stay and guided tour of the theatre and meal. Was a fantastic memorable trip, and I can't thank you enough. I hope all the mumsnetters have a wonderful 2016.

strawberrisc · 26/12/2015 17:44

I know it sounds a bit shallow but I'd love to product test the new Apple watch!

Kraggle · 26/12/2015 17:54

I love being part of the insight testers. It's very exciting seeing that email from mumsney saying "you've been selected!"

mave · 26/12/2015 19:17

I would love to test products more, the only one I was chosen for last year was the mini milks, my kids and I enjoyed it!

Give me more in 2016 please!!!

freefan · 26/12/2015 20:47

I'd love to trial anything especially food or tech products :) fingers crossed

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 26/12/2015 21:06

We loved trying out Cafe Rouge as we had never been there and had no experience of it, was a lovely place and was so glad to have fond it through Mumsnet!

I would love to test out a car or a holiday, well you never know! xxx

kathcake · 26/12/2015 23:42

Didn't get to try anything but 2016 is another year!

windowmouse · 27/12/2015 09:20

I like reviewing books or beauty products

mumpetuk1 · 27/12/2015 10:54

Loved being in the Canvey Island raft race. So much fun and raised loads for charity

mjmo0oseface · 27/12/2015 11:32

I second what loosechange said at the start.

It seems more and more product tests require footage and photographs of our children using the product etc and because my son is so young, I limit the photographs of him online to a very private facebook page. I, too, value my anonymity and feel as though I may be overlooked for a product test, that I could review really well, due to the fact I would rather not visually include my kids for companies own gain. It doesn't seem right to me.

However, I have enjoyed quite a few product tests this year! I especially loved the most recent one of the Cadbury baubles treats which my son couldn't get enough of, bless him!

I love taking part in surveys and having my say on important things or issues that directly affect me. I enjoy sharing my experiences on the sponsored threads too and reading others comments. I have gleaned some very helpful insights from such threads!

I look forward to a new year of product tests and surveys! :D I will pass my driving test this year and hope this may open us up for some more adventurous product tests further afield!

I also hope to trial hoovers eventually!!!

I would love to product test outdoor equipment, like backpack carriers for toddlers, camping gear at camping grounds. Also, testing days out for their family friendliness and suitability for disabled children/adults. Special needs equipment. Online courses. Experience days out. Mystery shopping. Theme parks. Outdoor toys. Anything!

beckyinman · 27/12/2015 12:27

I'd be happy to test anything! Maybe a holiday

sweir1 · 27/12/2015 12:52

I reviewed a book earlier in the year and thoroughly enjoyed it

JoJoY · 27/12/2015 13:14

I loved reading the Thorpe Park thread

lexy444 · 27/12/2015 13:37

We tested a face painting kit from Snazeroo! Kids loved it.
Hope to get involved in more testing/win some prizes next year!
Thanks Mumsnet!

GREATAUNT1 · 27/12/2015 14:22

I don't think I've ever tested anything, if I did it would be a trip around the world :-D

TheSpottedZebra · 27/12/2015 15:30

I've enjoyed another year on the panel, both taking part in activities and reading the feedback of others.

Possibly my favourite trial has been the Valspar paint, as I really really like it and might not have tried it otherwise. Plus, the deadline made me get up off my bum and paint a room that I had been meaning to for ages...

I also tried brantano shoe fitting service, which again was better than expected. And it made me use a store that I'd previously misjudged a bit, and I've been back as it was so convenient and low-stress .

My son's favourite trial was probably the Kinder book, which he loves.

I echo the slight annoyance at the Cadbury's panel that was just... nothing. Oh well.

I've said this before, but I'd really like a revisit of feedback on big ticket items 6 months, 1 year down the line. Did the miele and Dyson vacuums last? Did the steam cleaners prove to be that useful, in the end, etc etc. It'd be great to get more balanced feedback once the initial shine has rubbed off a bit.

pangaea90 · 27/12/2015 15:31

We really enjoyed the Little Dish product test, as the meals were well received and we've been using the vouchers we got sent as a thank you too. I'd love to do more food tests, especially for kids, and make up or hair products too.

danikagrace · 27/12/2015 15:47

I've enjoyed taking pat in (an mostly reading) the TTC forums and baby forums

JWalker23 · 27/12/2015 16:46

I've enjoyed giving my opinions and help to others at the same time as being able to win something :)
