The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!
Xmas Smile

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product events, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A £100 Mitchells & Butlers dining out gift card or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A selection of the new range of Bassetts Vitamins worth over £15 and tailored to you and your family's needs or
~ One of 20 chances to win a Cadbury’s selection box

In 2015, we have given away over £40,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers but also products including iPad minis, a van full of mini milks, a year's supply of ASDA Little Angels nappies, and excursions such as a family ticket to the Harry Potter studio, an annual family membership to Historic Royal Palaces, and a 7-night camping holiday!

The range of products you have tested and given feedback on is as varied as ever – from Miele tumble dryers and vacuum cleaners, Kenwood kCook food processors, Snazaroo facepaint to Bear Paws and Anchor butter!

We have also run some extremely popular threads, enabling you to have your say on a varied range of topics from the things you let your kids get away with when they’re poorly, to your child’s rapper name, and your ideal celebrity cinema buddy! Recently, the issue of real or fake Christmas trees stirred great debate amongst you Mumsnetters.

We love meeting you face to face – and giving you the chance to experience something new – from a crash course on all things digital with Barclays' Digital Driving License, to a children’s shoe fitting experience with Brantano. Many of you put the new kids' menu at Café Rouge with your family to the MN test.

There was even the chance to test drive the SEAT Alhambra, to see the videos click , as well as visit Thorpe Park again this year.

And ta-da can you spot our new insight ads on this thread, unveiled for the first time? Look out for them across MN in the future.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about. Or tell us what you’d like to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely (and fast growing) insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! [santa]
AnnMumsnet, FreyaMumsnet, AngelieMumsnet, and ZaneMumsnet.

i want to know if you enjoyed my son's tumble dryer videos?
I thought they were freaking HILARIOUS ( obv) - when he rang David cameron to show how quiet it was...

BrendaandEddie · 22/12/2015 13:27

and btw THANK YOU for the best tumble dryer ever made. Its a pleasure to use.

SERIOUSLY

ButWaitTheresMyrrh · 22/12/2015 14:10

I was lucky enough to be given Pampers pants to test with DD and they went down so well that we swapped over to them so that was a great success.

I read almost every review thread. I find it very informative to hear what fellow MNers have to say. Unless it's about Miele tumble driers in which case I'm still sulking Wink

Cocacolaandchocolate · 22/12/2015 14:12

We have been so lucky. We have been to Thorpe park, reviewed nappys, had bear snacks, painted a room! Thanks mumsnet. We love trying new products and with 4 Dcs it really helps too.

popelloucla · 22/12/2015 16:49

I was selected to test the mobile phone. The timing was perfect, just before DD1 left primary school. It does everything she needs and is really cheap to run.
I love testing products and taking surveys.

bigsnugglebunny · 22/12/2015 16:55

We have loved taking part in things, especially the Cadburys Baubles!

Hopefully there will be some techy items, or something "householdy" we can test. Disappointed we missed out on the Seat test drive as they look amazing!

pennwood · 22/12/2015 17:04

I really enjoy reviewing the reading books & have experienced genres that I may not have chosen before. It is a great opportunity to feel part of the community when offered the chance to complete questionnaires, & sometimes makes one really think about experiences, & whether we should accept or reject circumstances in our lives. There are probably a lot of silent Mn out there but, be brave, & try to get a little more involved as it can be fun, & quite rewarding too.

elizaco · 22/12/2015 17:16

I love the range of different things to get involved with, and look forward to seeing what's next. Was excited to become part of the Cadbury's Insight panel but haven't been asked to do anything as part of that yet. Looking forward to taking part in whatever 2016 has to offer :)

Theimpossiblegirl · 22/12/2015 17:20

I have been really lucky to take part in the Valspar and Cadbury Baubles product tests.

I enjoy the Sponsored Threads too, always hoping for a big win.

:)

chanice · 22/12/2015 17:29

Hi I won £50 for a survey and have tested. Nappies, bath products, face paints and currently a breast pump. A lot of websites I do surveys for reap nothing.

GetKnitted · 22/12/2015 17:36

We have really enjoyed reviewing books for mumsnet this year, it was something different to try as a family. it is the little things like that which make it feel worth all the surveys, particularly if your name doesn't come out of the hat for prize draws. I do wonder what you are looking for from applications for product tests, I've not been picked for much this year. Thank you Mumsnet and a merry Christmas to you all!

sharond101 · 22/12/2015 17:42

I liked the Brantano one, the reimbursement was very generous! I liked hearing about the Seat cars as we were looking to buy a new car at the time. Next year Id like more beauty products to trial for some self indulgence.

Gen · 22/12/2015 17:57

I enjoy completing the surveys, but haven't tested products this year, have in the past. Think it helps suppliers find out Wharton real people/families think of their products or services. Would like to try any testing next year

glentherednosedbattleostrich · 22/12/2015 18:00

I enjoyed the paint test and we got a book to read together. DD loved the vitamins, so much we now have to buy them for her!

I never get the household appliances ones! Some tech ones would be good. The Anchor butter one was good too.

Some days out not in London or the south would be good, we have cool things in the North too!

Maiyakat · 22/12/2015 18:09

DD and I enjoyed reviewing the picture books. We also tested toothpaste and fruit snacks. I've completed lots of surveys, and was lucky enough to win a voucher from one of them!

I enjoyed reading the Kidzania reviews - DD is too young for it now, but I think she would love it in a few years.

queenoftheschoolrun · 22/12/2015 18:55

DD and I enjoyed baking with Anchor butter, listening to a Roald Dahl audiobook and testing the Cadbury baubles! DH was less impressed with having to decorate a room in a weekend so we could submit our feedback on the Valspar paint in time! It was great paint though and we definitely wouldn't have done it by now without the product test. Now we're planning the next room on the list.

I've really enjoyed the book reviews and the Philomena dvd.

I'll be looking out for household appliances, more books/dvds, food and child friendly activities next year.

Thanks for the opportunity.

BathshebaDarkstone · 22/12/2015 19:00

Our favourite was definitely the Snazzaroo face paints test.

In the future I'd like to test anything that my DC can get involved in.

Gazelda · 22/12/2015 19:10

the mini milk one was great. and i'm looking forward to whatever the Cadbury Panel brings.
I've missed out on some of the ones I really would have liked to be part of, but it gives a little spark of joy when I get the magic email to say I've been selected for something.
Was Annie this year or last? That one was great.
The Kaspersky one was dreadful - sorry! Made me feel like a tech numpty.
I enjoy reading about others' experiences, and viewing their videos. But I must agree that I'd never sign up to make a video myself, far prefer to remain anonymous.
Thank you Insight Team, I've really enjoyed being involved.

Realitea · 22/12/2015 19:21

The cadburys baubles were a highlight this year for me. Also the flora one was great, it motivated me to get baking, which my dd really loved!

TheBestChocolateIsFree · 22/12/2015 20:03

Oh I'd forgotten about the Mini Milks. Those were this year weren't they. And we did the Anchor baking as well, which was nice because it made me bake with DS instead of DD - it's the curse of the second child.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 22/12/2015 20:11

I enjoy being part of the panel - I like doing surveys and giving feedback on things; the opportunity to have a say is nice!

I've been lucky enough to try a couple of products including Little Dish which was interesting (& helped feed the DC for a couple of days!).

I'd maybe like to test some toys / games suitable for toddlers or gadgets designed to make our lives easier!!

I wouldn't be interested in having photos or videos of me & my family online and wouldn't volunteer for phone / face to face interviews but do try to do as many surveys / threads as I can.

Thanks for letting me take part! Smile

BonjourMinou · 22/12/2015 20:25

I love taking part in the product tests, especially the baby ones as it does give me a good idea of what is or isn't useful. I did get sent some particularly good nappies to try out, we loved those! Also enjoy testing out tech stuff. I was lucky enough to be picked for the Cadbury panel but haven't seen anything yet! Hopefully in the new year. My daughter would say the mini milks were her favourites, but I can't say I was particularly surprised at the result of that one. "Mmm, nice mummy! Mmmmm, yummy!"

Sairelou · 22/12/2015 20:36

I love being part of the Insight panel. I always get excited when I get a new email to say I've been picked for something!

We LOVED the Cadbury's baubles (food always goes down well in this house!). I am currently testing the advent breast pump which is something I would never have bought myself.

I would love to see product tests for more food, kitchen gadgets, tech stuff and I'm sure my toddler would like to test out some toys!

Lariflete · 22/12/2015 21:14

I've really enjoyed the product tests that I've been chosen for (although not as many as I would have liked!).
We enjoyed the Little Dish product test as it actually changed my mind about children's ready meals.
We've had a few books which the DC loved and it was a lovely surprise to get a new book every month or so.
I hope that I can continue on the panel and do some more exciting product tests next year please could I win a voucher or two too?!?

CheeseEMouse · 22/12/2015 21:24

We have tested some nappies this year which was good for my toddler, and the bear paws were a total hit with her as well. It's great to be able to try things that I wouldn't necessarily buy as it has opened my eyes to a few products I wouldn't have previously thought of buying. I enjoy doing tests where we all have an opinion as a family and I try to reflect that in our feedback.
