Watch With Mumsnet, in association with Netflix, is back again this month – this time, with the critically-acclaimed series Breaking Bad, widely regarded as one of the most electrifying television shows ever to have come out of the US.

Breaking Bad follows Emmy award-winner Bryan Cranston as Walter White, a high school science teacher diagnosed with terminal lung cancer who, in order to support his family, teams up with a former student to manufacture and sell crystal meth. Millions tuned in to the epic finale last year; no surprise that Mumsnetters were among them.

Here’s what Mumsnetters had to say about Breaking Bad:

• "It's amazing - one of the most original dramas I've come across."

• "One of the best TV series ever … I loved it. The cast, the script, the acting...everything."

• "Now I've finished it, I realise it's almost as good as The Wire - so it's one of the best things I've ever watched on TV."

• "Just finished the last episode of Breaking Bad. It was intense. We've been watching at least one episode every night, sometimes three!"

With all five seasons available to watch on Netflix now, your viewing is sorted for the coming months (and, yes: we give you permission to binge-watch). Just come back to this thread and let us know what you think; everyone who joins the discussion will be entered into a competition to win an Xbox One console.

Note on spoilers: We want to hear your thoughts on everything, from plot twists to season finales and more - but if you’re talking anything that could reveal important plot details then please put Spoiler at the beginning of your post to warn others who may not have seen it.

Happy watching,
MNHQ

NC from glendatheveryexcitedwitch when the passwords were reset!!!

I'm now on season 4 episode 6 - while it is entertaining it certainly isn't the best thing ever!!! You can see from a mile off the problems that are coming to thwart Walt & Jesse, their friendship is far too fickle for them to trust each other!

Skylar's character has turned a complete 360 from loving wife to hard faced bitch!! If I was Walt I'd walk away instead of staying around for crumbs!!

Hank, Saul & Mike are the most believable, interesting characters and I look forward to seeing what they are up to next!!

I can't wait to finish the whole lot so I can do more productive things with my time lol such as uni work!!!

started watching this with my husband and we both got right into it, great show with even better characters.

dm2ooo · 28/04/2014 11:30

I am loving this series on Netflix. I just let it run while I'm ironing or doing paperwork. Everyone talks about Bryan Cranston, who is great, but I think Aaron Paul's character so much more complex, and totally endearing. He just wants to be loved!

But strangely, the most compelling part, when will he tell his wife about the cancer?

anggraeny · 28/04/2014 11:43

just finished final season, watched 5 episodes back to back... couldn't stop, had to know the outcome !! amazing, brilliant writing, brilliant acting....

tamalyn1 · 28/04/2014 20:55

We all love Breaking Bad in our house and have been watching it since 2011. It is a little slow starting, you do need to stay with it, but once you do it will have your gripped! Its a real roller coaster ride and never predictable. A try masterpiece and we are very sad it had finished. Enjoy :)

jillydon49 · 29/04/2014 10:40

Ive only watched the first 2 and I'm not feeling the love sorry, I was thrilled to see this coming on it looked fantastic but I just carn't get into it.
Maybe after reading what every one here has said I should give it another chance

babymumbles · 29/04/2014 11:23

I loved Breaking Bad. The story line was different to all other series I had watched and I was gripped by the end of the first series. During the series I found my opinion of Walt changed, in the beginning I would feel sorry for his character however as the plot developed I began to dislike him more and more and began to like the characters around him. His brother in law is a great actor and I wanted him to survive, that was the saddest part. Jessie was an excellent character, as my opinion of Jessie grew, it lessened for Walt.

Aalandjana · 29/04/2014 15:45

The best show that came out of America for a long time. Gripping, watched it back to back, couldn't wait to watch the next episode.

janemphoto · 29/04/2014 15:49

Loved it, especially the first 4 seasons at which point I think it was meant to end. I felt the last season was not as good, but still wanted to know what is going to happen to Walter. In the end, the final episode was very good. Certainly would recommend to everybody.

nicctaylor · 29/04/2014 21:45

i'm half way through season 2 now and I'm hooked. I have been watching 3 episodes a day. If I didnt work I would watch more lol

TiggersAngel7774 · 29/04/2014 21:50

Great series, good acting. its too addictive

Sherlockholmes221b · 03/05/2014 10:30

It's great to have a series that both DH and I are equally into. Although admittedly I'm watching quite a lot of it through my fingers! I love Saul, I hope they can maintain the quality with the prequel starring him. Also love Jessie who seems to have found the moral compass Walt has lost. Currently half way through series 5, we're watching on DVD as we don't have Netflix, and although it's going to leave a hole when it goes it will be good to get back to earlier nights, a sex life and catching up on regular TV which is backing up on our Sky plannner!

edwarv29 · 14/05/2014 08:14

What an amazing series! I subscribed to Netflix just for this! I heard it was good but didn't realize how good it was! I watched the first couple of episodes but wasn't impressed it was a very slow start but then I stuck with it. Then about 5 episodes in my partner watched it with me and he was hooked it ended up that when we put our little one to bed and had both had baths , done the pack lunch for next day we were watching back to back episodes every night! I even watched an episode on my own and my partner got the hump as I watched it without him and he didn't want to miss an episode, so I had to watch the episode again! Breaking Bad is very addictive with characters that you fall in love with especially Jesse and Walt. Sometime you hate then , then you love them but in the end the relationship they have with each other its amazing ! Underneath all the badness they really care about each other.

Breaking Bad is brilliant I would recommend it to anyone but make sure you can put aside some time to watch it, you will need it. I was really disappointed when I completed watching it.

loobypas · 14/05/2014 09:41

We are only few episodes in and we love it. If you like this try catching Weeds.

ataraxia · 16/05/2014 07:09

I'm moving house soon and getting a streaming service is high on my list to consider then - hearing that Breaking Bad is on Netflix might just make my decision, I can't wait to see it!

equinimod · 17/05/2014 15:13

Simply love it!

cheekylittledevil · 19/05/2014 13:48

I love it! My 14 1/2 year old son put me on to Breaking Bad. I know, not exactly suitable viewing for his age group, but he's re-watching it with me and it's opening up some interesting discussions. Oh, and he always manages to leave the room just before any sex scenes which makes me laugh. Too embarrassed to watch THAT with his Mum!

Doubtfuldaphne · 20/05/2014 16:19

I love the feeling of finding something you really enjoy watching and knowing you can watch it all. Netflix is excellent for this because you can have a great box set binge! I've just started my breaking bad journey today while dd was at playgroup. I feel naughty about that but it's been fun. When dc's are in bed tonight I'll be putting it back on!

Fillybuster · 21/05/2014 10:09

Netflix and Breaking Bad: an amazing combination! This has single-handedly changed how we consume content in our family: I don't think the TV has been on a 'regular' channel (apart from re-runs of Masterchef) for a few months, since we got our subscription. We've even cancelled our Sky contract, despite missing out on GoT....Netflix, any chance you can do a deal with Sky to get Game of Thrones repeats please?
