Dd has started to crawl ( in a fashion - wormy squirm) across the room. Yesterday I had to pop upstairs for a moment and left her sitting playing with some toys. I came back and she was on her tummy facing the opposite direction, across the room at her toy box. She has now just crawled across the floor to get her hands on the remote control.

SHe also had her fist paddle in her paddling pool. It is her 1st birthday next month and we bought her the pool for that - figured we better get it early in case there it not too long to enjoy it. SHe looked so cute in her sunvest and hat splashing like mad....

Oh bless him. Well if you took any pictures and can get them on your website I for one would love to see them.

ThomCat · 14/08/2003 22:41

Actually while I'm on the proud thread I have one of my own to add.
Picked Lottie up from my mums after work and she was really cuddly and gave me a kiss straight away etc as usual (P.S. pursing her lips and leaning forward for a kiss is kinda new & incredibly wonderful too, but I digress)....I ws sitting on the floor holding her and giving her a hug and she stood on the floor, either side of my legs, but I mean she STOOD. I could feel the weight leave me and feel her legs stiffen and she was standing with her arms round me. Didn't last long but she did it. So pleased..., that frame has been a Godsend. Did I ever really feel sad we had to use one?!

Fantastic Thomcat!

ThomCat · 15/08/2003 00:13

Thanks jimJams.
Blimey, not done the night shift before, must go to bed, just one more quick browse......!!!

Jimjams · 15/08/2003 00:19

Me neither thomcat- I came down to have a quick browse and discovered I'd started WW3 on behaviour and development. I'm so misunderstood (sob)

ThomCat · 15/08/2003 00:26

Well I understood exactly where you were coming from and thought I had said the wrong thing myself. That's th thing with mumsnet, it's fab but it's too esy to offend people as well. A double-edged sword. I think it's all ok over there in behaviour, I'm going to have one more quick look and then go to bed! Sleeptight!

Jimjams · 15/08/2003 00:28

Yeah you too!

eidsvold · 15/08/2003 07:56

Jimjams I'm really pleased for you and ds .

I need to add another boast now, following on from the sitting thing. Ds2 was sitting on the bench today (all alone again), and he said to me "get down own mummy", then turned round and sort of slid/fell off the bench all by himself!

Jimjams · 30/08/2003 22:48

Awwww nice one lou....

ThomCat · 01/09/2003 10:05

What lovley posts to come in to on a Monday morning, rush of goosepimples down my legs reading all the latest posts; fantastic news.

eidsvold · 06/09/2003 12:22

Well we have had a week of first - dd had her first full week at nursery - five days ...3 1/2 days and two full days and SHE LOVES IT!! although it is great that she loves nursery and we have had no tears or that a little part of me would like to think she misses dh and I esp. me. The staff love her and we only hear good things about all the amazing things she has done. SHe is just on the go - wriggles/crawls around all day - checking out the other kids and everything that is in the room.

We have her first painting - minus the paint that was spread on her face, hair and clothes!!

She is doing really well eating 'proper' food rather than jars and the bits and pieces that we give her.

We went today to buy her her first proper pair of shoes - Clarks do a soft crawling shoe and she is just too hard on the cheap ones and we can't get them to fit. So now we have a lovely navy and pink pair ready for her to wear out. They also do a photo of her getting her fist shoes and a little book and bits - very impressed with clarks.

She also had her mmr jab late last week - no tears. No real reaction yet - a little temp but she has a cold so we are not sure if the temp is from the cold/reaction.

And me - I have had my first two days back at work full time. I have some wonderful classes and I have a class of year 9's who are just a bunch ofmonkeys - very lively, showing off. They do not realise that I used to teach there and have just had a year off. I am glad I survived so far - and hope it can only get better!!!!!

SO we have had a busy week.....
