MR scan date 15/07 had a call with dm today but feel as though i completely fudged it. I get so tongue tied when asked questions and was asked multiple questions and same ones over again. I feel as though i completely ruined it for my daughter and feeling very defeated 😪

She said i should hear in 7-10 days which makes me feel as though she's not going to be awarded. As we all know if she was i should recieve back pay in a few days!

Try not to over-think it, it's so hard isn't it especially when it's an unexpected call and your on the spot, afterwards you think of so many things you could and should of said but it bypasses your mind at the time. They probably said 7-10 days as that's their general say for letters. I don't think a decision would of been made in that moment for them to say expect a payment or anything as that would of been false in that moment, after the call and gathering all evidence they should of made a decision. Maybe you could call tomorrow and ask for the outcome, hope your DD is awarded what she deserves, good luck 🤞

SD 12.01.2026
Just rang DLA, options 1 5 1 4, as always on this line (in my experience) amazingly helpful man. He said it’s not in a queue anymore, is now with a ‘case manager’. He said he would ask them to send me a text when decision is made (I also put my number in the box on the forms to stay updated with texts). He said it wouldn’t be much longer. Our claim in December was 5 weeks on the dot from SD to decision, that’s today for this new claim 🤞😮‍💨

Holdtightrelax · 16/02/2026 13:17

Scan date 14th jan. decision made this morning. Lovely man on phone told me all rates and dates without asking ( rang to chase up birth certificate that was sent) son age 3 middle rate for 2yrs. Goodluck to you all x

MamaTo3under4 · 16/02/2026 14:08

hiya I’m just wondering has anyone ever done a new claim before and sent in evidence after a decopms already been made I know that you can do a mr but that’s such a long wait and I called Dla the other day asking if I could send evidence in and he said a decision has already been made but I can send in the evidence anyway and just call and ask for them to look at the late evidence for me but I don’t see the being ok with that?

Thankyou, so happy it was a fast decision for you, ive done a new claim for both my 4 year olds twins, only scanned last week on the 10th. I didnt send any birth certificates, are we supposed to send those. I dont think i sent my eldest boys birth certificate when i forst applied for his new claim in 2023 x

Holdtightrelax · 16/02/2026 14:18

Fingers crossed for you and your children, it’s such a nerve racking feeling. They requested my sons birth certificate on 15th jan. was sent 22nd and they still haven’t got it on the system so looks like it’s been lost/misplaced. I stupidly didn’t sent recorded and I could kick myself now. I’m hoping it finds its way back to me at some point. Wishing you all the luck for your children x

Fingers crossed they manage to find it. Are we supposed to send in birth certificates? I havent sent either of my twins in and both their claims were scanned on the 10th of feb, but i havent heard anything from them asking for birth certificate x

Holdtightrelax · 16/02/2026 14:27

Only if they send you a letter requesting it. They didn’t ask for one with my other son’s claim in 2024. But did on this new claim x

Ok thankyou. Did they request it straight away once they had scanned the new claim onto the system x

We applied for mandatory reconsideration on Aug 15th and still today they said it hasn't been allocated yet to case worker. This system is total joke.
