@Princessmom222 defo call them. It might be because I kicked off with a manager as was told so many lies from call handlers. Which is unacceptable

Just called again, last week I was lied to, it’s not with a DM like I was told so it’s quite a wait still

MrsBoo8888 · 06/02/2026 12:40

I just called for a update 28 July Mr and it was picked up on the 4th by a case worker, theres no notes on the system asking for anything either. She said it won't be long and wrote a note for them to text me once it's done then told me to call back for the outcome

Thank you for yesterday, I called today and a decision was made on the 4th! Hrc lrm until 2033. However, I strongly believe he should be getting HRM.
I can see there is a mixture of wait times on MRs. Is a lot of people waiting on care needs being looked at or Mobility? Just wondering why someone on Facebook has only waited 5 weeks but alot have been waiting 24 weeks.

Lea1993 · 06/02/2026 14:39

I called today following seeing that someone else had had their MR approved in a short amount of time. My MR is for care needs. She said it’s going massively over the 25 weeks at the minute . Mine hasn’t even been looked at which I expected because it’s only been 10 weeks. I did query why people were getting decisions that had done MRs in for example end of dec or January I know she said was I can’t tell you they’re usually done in date order so I don’t know

UC question

How long after you had a letter to say that the decision maker agrees that exceptional circumstances apply and we will be backdated did you recieve a letter saying how much you will recieve?

Hey, pleased you got an increase in care at least. I agree the awarding of HRM does often need to be appealed, and the wait times are so unfair with variability! Possibly by design as many will accept HRC alone.
DS is probably borderline as to whether he meets the HRM criteria, so I’ll take the HRC and LRM. I’ve also been awarded until 2030 which is when he ages out of DLA.
To be honest I’m kind of worn out with it all, between SEND tribunal and DLA I don’t have the mental bandwidth to fight for anything more.
Good luck with MR if you choose that path!

Babylipswifey · 06/02/2026 19:15

I’m mr for my boy he’s 3 next week is none verbal so not toilet trained will run at any chance has a tendency to try and drink anything and every thing is violent I sent multiple reports stating he doesn’t sleep needs fresh sheets multiple times a night as pees through nappies or take them off and pees he’s at the mental age of a 1 year old but they gave us mrc claiming “he most likely is asleep by the time the rest of the household goes to bed” however he will sleep 1am till 3am then he is up for the rest of the night but I will fight for him

I’m also waiting for the letter to say when and how much and asked the same question, someone replied saying they received the letter 3days later but I guess it could vary. They need to work out money for the last 19mths for my claim, might take quite a bit longer than say someone who is only waiting for 6mth back pay

Red1991 · 06/02/2026 21:07

So I put a note in my journal yesterday after no one responded to the previous message I sent on the 3rd Feb they messaged back later in the day with the amount back dated and it will be paid on Monday so not long wait for me at all desicion maker said yes on the 2nd Feb x
