NC 20/01 looks like I have a long wait 🥴

After my COC was rejected was told to send in late evidence. Just got a phone call to say she had missed some evidence and with the extra evidence i had sent she said she is more then happy to award the HRC and believes she should have been getting it all this time.

Shes been awarded HRC and LRM for 3 years so I dont even have to do her renewal. Only my daughters MR now.

So relieved!!

Oh that's great! I'm NC SD 30/12, so hopefully getting closer to mine 😅

Tirednamechange · 02/02/2026 12:38

Universal credit has verified the new rates and confirmed they are backdating it and said that they're waiting for the system to generate the underpayment. Does anyone have any idea how long that will take?

Blujen · 02/02/2026 12:55

Thanks guys such a relief. Can I update UC now or do I need to wait for the letter x

Thank you very much, a long drawn out process but definitely worth the wait. 😁
I sent in daytime and nightime care log, letter from GP, her disability worker did a report about what shes like and that she has bit her sisters multiple times a night and caused black eyes. Requiring medical attention and for us to stay up with her to prevent her sisters from coming to harm. And that she is highly hyperactive and impulsive and no awareness of danger at all and she has witnessed it all for herself. I also resent her ADHD and autism report, and her updated EHCP. Hope this helps xx

KCJ1984 · 02/02/2026 18:42

Hi, can we send in appointment letters as extra evidence does anybody know?
Waiting for my sence support plan from school to send in but the school are taking ages. Looks like they are getting through claims very quickly so feel I may not have long to send anything else in

@Red1991 What area/region are you if you don’t mind me asking? Hopefully it won’t take them long to sort it out for you or me for that matter 😂

Edited

no I don’t mind im in East Midlands if that enough to go off lol im waiting for a response for when my back pay will be in as I just passed my test today so want to get a little run around lol x

Princessmom222 · 02/02/2026 01:49

Bloody hell that was quick, mine have been verified for over a week now and i havent heard anything since. Im happy for you though that you dont have to wait for it like everything else! Im hoping mines not too much longer xx

i know I was shocked tbh but then when I scrolled down my journal to check when my sons got sorted he was verified the day after but it took 4 weeks for them to agree to back pay and then the day after said how much I would receive so hoping I will hear by the end of the week ….because the change was made from 21st November would I get half of the money for that month and the. Obviously full for December and January trying to roughly calculate cause i need a car lol x and thank u girl honestly it all couldn’t have fell into place any better than this x

Aww well done, what a week for you ❤️ was just wondering if some areas take longer to process these things but don’t know why I’m curious because who knows the answer 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 I still haven’t heard anything from when my son was verified on Thursday but early days I guess! I need a new car too, I can only just fit my little ones wheelchair in mine but there’s no space for anything else so definitely need something a bit bigger! Fingers crossed we aren’t waiting too long 🤞🏻

Your right you will probably get half for that month it just depends on your dates. Ohh nice hopefully your able to get your car soon. Im going to get a car with my daughters mobility as shes constantly at appointments etc and we dont go many places because of how hard it is with her. Im so glad all has fallen into place for you, just makes everything your going through that little bit easier!
I found out today my daughters COC that was rejected has now been accepted with the extra evidence i sent out. She even said on the phone she missed some of the evidence when looking at her claim so she now gets HRC and said she should have been getting it all along she also extended her award for 3 years so dont have to do her renewal. Im just waiting on my MR now! Xx

They say not to send appointment letters but I don't see why not, although it doesn't say the child's condition or how it affects them daily, it still shows how often appointments are or that they've attended certain appointments relating to their problems. Also most letters state departments and who the child is seeing or who the clinic is run by, therefore if they felt as if they needed further information from a professional the information to find that person is readily available to them. If you feel like that's all you've got for the moment then I would do it, if the school gives you what you need before you get a decision then even better you can send that off but for the meantime do what you feel is best, good luck.

Il call after a few weeks if its not done by then as UC say to give them a few weeks for a decision to be made. So if i dont hear anything by then il call xx

Hi hun my 2 children were verified on 30th I called today to clear the arrears as I mentioned in my journal about applying for uc loan again and then mentioned about the disabled child element backdate

The woman was very helpful said she'd have someone look into it then advised I call uc debt management for last bit of arrears to clear for loan.

The letter for accepting they owe me the money and amount was on there so reality it only took from 29th reporting change 30th verified and today confirmed amount and updated the statements so I know payment will be soon x

I believe the call triggered them looking further into things and actioned the process quicker
Just so you know x
