my COC scan date was 30/09. Just got my decision. Declined kept at same rate! Had so much evidence to back what I’ve said up. Supporting letter off EP, school, speech and language. Acceptance letter for my son’s autism assessment. 7 night sleep dairy and my sons needs during the night!! Can’t believe thy have declined him!

Im so sorry, Its ridiculous isnt it! I had so much evidence too, did they say why it was declined?
Mine was only declined because they said she had no night time needs so got a bunch of more evidence to back up my arguement so they said i could send it of as late evidence. Im really hoping ive done enough, if not il have to do a MR as i know she should be getting HRC and ive also got her renewal coming up x

No he just said to wait for letter and it will explain in detail the reasons. This whole process is so frustrating! Wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t have to wait ridiculous amounts of time for a decision! I will also be doing a MR once I receive the letter. I don’t have anymore evidence that I can send in. Sent everything I have even his EHCP which states my son has high care needs and he will be starting specialist school from September. My sons renewal is also up in September so looks like we will be on this forum together for a while xx

Thank you so much hun iv completed the changes on Uc thank you 😊 Just feel like I can breathe and focus on my children's other fights like echps, the other referrals etc xx

:) aww yeah they don’t make it easy for us do they I have not long got EHCP for my son referral via his nursery he’s 4 hopefully your child’s school setting can help you too!!
originally it was my health vision on 2 year review that got the ball rolling for me with referrals ect she couldn’t understand why no one had done it before hand after me reporting my concerns for well over a year good luck to you on ur next part of your journey xx

Princessmom222 · 29/01/2026 09:18

Oh wow congratulations hun, so happy for you! Its a bit shit when your still waiting for another one to be done isnt it.
My COC didnt get changed and a decision was to keep the award the same with the original date. They said her circumstances remained the same which i know it hasnt. So i have her renewal going on and they told me to send of extra evidence as late evidence for it to be relooked at. However i called yesterday and they hadnt sent over her evidence to the dm. So im currently on hold trying to find out if the women yesterday has done it now! Otherwise i will have to do a MR along with her renewal.
My MR is still not done from July xx

Thank you girlie pop, and I know trying not to stress about it all, it’s disgusting isn’t it and you have sent so much evidence!! I really don’t think they look at it properly and that’s so not fair deffo demand that they make a decision quick as im sure that’s something they can do rather than you waiting even longer fingers crossed they pull their finger out their butts xx

Honestly, i am so over the moon for you! Its amazing when our childrens struggles finally get noticed! Best of luck for your sons 😘X

Thank youuu honestly im still suprised and unsure of award given, cause nothing adds up deffo not low rate so im thinking maybe middle but then middle doesn’t add up either so either they haven’t awarded me from the date I called or there’s an error I got £1003 and it has been 6weeks today from scan date xx

Red1991 · 29/01/2026 11:44

Princessmom222 · 29/01/2026 10:03

Well my COC has gone back to the original decision maker along with a report from daughters disability worker, a report from school, report from GP, updated speech and language report, ADHD diagnosis, two week night time care log and updated EHCP plan. If she gets turned down for HRC i have no idea what else to send. But will definitely be doing a MR as its a joke.
My MR is 27 weeks and still in a holding que so still got a long way to go with that one!

Its so tough having children on the spectrum and ones that need continous care throughout the day and night is no joke. I honestly wish my children didnt have the struggles they have on a daily basis and always having to fight for them is relentlesly hard!

Edited

If they refuse it again take it to court 9/10 it’s approved they seem to have more sense over there then at the dwp office like how much back up do they need you have so much evidence from medical professionals they are so incompetent it’s unreal x

Id ring as it should be close to being done! Best of luck to you! X

I've just spoken to them and it had been done this morning! Changed from mrc to hrc and lrm, backdated to October when I rang for the first coc form and awarded until 2032! I am so relieved and now I can focus on the ehcp appeal.

Your scan date is actually the 16/12 because thats the date they text you and that means it was scanned onto the system. X

i called to check progress as my phone has not been working for a couple of days. Unfortunately couldn’t give me a timeframe just told me it’s with the decision maker

I really am. I did ask them to look at hrm but honestly not sure we would meet the criteria as haven't got evidence of restraint from anywhere else so I'm just going to take what we've got as it's such a good long award

Positive post for renewals

SD 11/11
renewal due 27/2

got my letter through the post today. My 15 year old daughter has been given the same rates until the day before her 17th birthday. What a relief!!

don’t know when PIP will send me a letter though as I thought they did this once they turn 16. She is 16 in October.

I’ve always felt so guilty for her because I didn’t know I could claim for her until she was 11 so I am relieved to know the claim isn’t ending.

They use all the evidence you previously sent in when you do your MR anyway, so you should be completely fine! But hopefully you may get other bits inbetween now and then. We will both be on here for a long time, ive already been on the forum since febuary last year so we will see how much longer it all takes! We will have to keep each other informed Xx

NC SD 22/12

I can't bring myself to call either - we had a call on 05/01 advising it was with a case manager. I know I'll find out with time, but DS 8 is on a reduced timetable of 1.5hrs a day right now and I'm at my wits end trying to juggle work / taking unpaid hours and making sure he doesn't fall behind educationally.

I know they're working through NCs quickly at the moment, I just didn't think waiting would take nearly as much of my mental bandwidth as it has been. Can't imagine how hard it has been for those on MR since July etc. :/

Have you had a decision yet?

She’s 4 I just called up he’s was well polite so she’s been awarded high rate care which I find so bizarre her twins needs are loads higher than hers and they refused me Coc but she is a handful and I’m greatful its kind of give me a little hope that his will be raised to and clearly they didn’t look through his case properly x

Not yet, but I still haven't called - just waiting! It seems fairly random as to when cases are worked and I feel like mine is still recent compared to lots of the scan dates. I keep compulsively checking this thread though to see where similar scan dates are at.

Hopefully now yours is with a decision maker it won't be too much longer! :)

Hi guys, if it helps I have 2 MRs going. 1 from October 2025, and 1 for dec 2025. Funny thing is they have today done the December one. But not October? December was the disagreement of a renewal decision. And October was disagreement of a NC. Now I think there just picking random ones out. As I phoned after about Octobers still not allocated yet, makes no sense

Princessmom222 · 29/01/2026 14:49

How long did it take for everyone to get a decision from UC regarding backpay my children were verified on monday and was sent to a decision maker. Im just wondering how long it takes from this point as i cant remember from last time.

I'm the 22nd Dec too and I'm constantly checking here to see if anyone close to my scan date has had a decision 🫣 I did ring up on Monday and no decision yet. Didn't say whether it's with a DM or not though.

That is very confusing and frustrating especially when they are definitely not doing it in date order and thats all they say to you on the phone. There are lots of people who are still waiting from July, im happy for you that your december one has been done 😁But my god it feels like theyre just picking cases from out of a hat. Im still waiting from July and its still in a holding que. Im guessing i wont hear until end of feb/march!
