Hi. Can somebody please help me before my head falls off. I should get middle rate care and lower rate mobility for my son. Which equates to £412.12. However, only £383.20 has gone into my bank? Does this sometimes happen due to the week etc? Or is there something wrong?

Hi, I received my letter from DLA today to say that they'd received my form back on 07/01 NC, would this be my scan date?

Yes that’s your scan date. If your child is awarded you will be backdated from the date you rang for the forms providing you sent the forms back by the deadline date printed on the original forms x

I thought that was the case but couldn't remember, did claim for eldest in 2024. Thank you x

Yeah

Your scan date is the 07/01. But if you called for the forms they will backdate the claim to the date you called for the forms.

Sorry quoted the wrong person lol X

Quite a few people on fb have had a decision with a scan date of the 16th, 17th and 18th. My scan date is the 22nd and I rang up yesterday and still no outcome. Yours might've been done, maybe ring them again? X

I just phoned and a decision was made yesterday but wouldn’t tell me the result. She said should receive the letter in 10 days.. now I’m getting more anxious 😬.

I know some people received the payment in their bank before the letter. As I have not received any does that mean it’s a no then?

If they only made a decision yesterday it takes 3-5 days for the payment to clear so you could well be awarded. Deffo ring back good luck hope it’s a positive outcome xxx

Hello all,

Wondering if you can help. I put in a change of circumstances for my son with a scan date of 20/10 - any idea how long these are taking at the moment?

OneSparklyGreyCat · 27/01/2026 13:58

Thank you everyone! I phoned again and he was awarded for MRC. But no mobility award as he’s not 5 yet. I will now try for MR for him to have HRC & HRM.

I know the mobility is hard to prove. But I have not slept for more than 2-4hours per day as he doesn’t really sleep and we’ve been to A&E twice due to him ingesting things that he shouldn’t. He has to be strapped at all times. He has the mind of a 1y/o from his pedia assessment. I know I have not worded things clearly, essay is not my forte and am glad that he’s been approved.

I will still take this as a win. And now, on to the next phase of battle.

You may need to also try to prove the sleep issues as you can’t be awarded HRC unless care is needed day and night
You also can’t get HRM unless you have HRC, I think this may be my downfall too as sleep issues can be hard to prove.

My COC scan date is 13/10, not heard yet.
I saw a post with a COC from mid September that was declined last week

He has a melatonin prescription from his GP and has missed a few school sessions due to him not sleeping at night and sleeping on the day instead. He’s also been sleeping in class. Hopefully that helps.

I can only think the body fluid issue. I don’t think I have worded that clearly. I only put that he needs help with changing.

PeaHen99 · 27/01/2026 19:11

@OneSparklyGreyCat you would think that would be evidence enough.
best of luck

Maybe.. maybe not.. I need at least try. I know when I first done the forms it was really rushed & haphazard. I was stalling so much and did it last minute. I also know that I am not good with words. That’s why I am already very thankful to have been awarded. But I am also seeing a lot who gets HRC with the same situation as my son so why not mines right? I see it as half a battle won 😀
