Does anyone know how long it takes to get a decision once your claim is with a DM?
Just wondering as mine has been with one for over a week and everytime i have rang they said i should be one of the first on the pile as my claims were marked as urgent!

I’m not sure about nowadays but when I did my daughters claim a couple of years ago it was only with the DM 2 days. What date are you? I’m 24/12 so I think I’ve still got a bit of a wait yet x

That’s actually shocking when people are being awarded now within 4-5 weeks. Can you escalate it at all? I hope you hear something soon xx

Thank you! We are with the case manager too, when I phoned the man on the phone said it looked like we had been made a priority so I'm going to very impatiently wait until Friday and then call again

I was made a priority on the 23rd of december and still waiting. Hopefully will be a faster turn around for you! Whats your scan date?

Anyone been awarded today?

Scanned 24/12 heard nothing yet but on phone to them now to see if I have time to send in more evidence x

Blujen · 19/01/2026 09:32

Called today to see if I should send the evidence I have - which just backs up what I said that I was waiting for another referall back into CAMHS for my son. She said I don’t need to send the letter and she will make a note on the system for the case manager. She said no decision has been made but she can’t tell me what status it is at

Lonnie1423 · 19/01/2026 09:33

They said that to me on phone this morning, it's ridiculous why they can't just tell you. I even asked to speak to a manager and she refused me

I'm not sure, they recieved them on 15/12 but it's a renewal and COC. Renewal is due to end 27/2 and i originally asked for the COC forms in October but 2 got lost so didn't actually recieve it until December

Honestly it is ridiculous! You’d think they would move to an online system so you can just check the status without calling them up! They are so arsy on the phone too! I get really bad anxiety and am such an overthinker so updates would really help. To be fair the lady I had was really nice and I didn’t push for an answer as it’s not even been 4 weeks yet. I’ve heard people be awarded around 5 weeks ish. What was your scan date?

Lonnie1423 · 19/01/2026 09:47

ur right they are very rude, if they can honest answers we wouldn't keep calling. I am a mr from July I am really starting to loose my patience x

MelloYellow · 19/01/2026 11:20

Hi
did a MR scanned 10/9 2025
it was for a renewal
the renewal was done but I believe my child should receive a HRM
he gets HRC AND LRM

i rang today
not with a decision maker still!

15/12 will be your scan date then but they will probably do your COC and renewal at the same time. They usually do renewals a few days before your claim is due to end. So it shouldnt be too long of a wait for you! X

They did say they would do both, I think we should be going from mrc to hrc and lrm but my child currently can't access school due to rubbish La and we need a private OT for appeal so I was hoping they would do it a bit earlier as we could really use the extra if it's awarded. My other child's renewal was done about two weeks before in November but was a much simpler case

Boymum72748 · 19/01/2026 11:57

MR made 07 July. Rang today and was told it is now with a case manager they are awaiting medical advice which was applied for on the 15th and usually takes 5 days to come back does anybody know what this means?

Clareabelle24 · 19/01/2026 12:21

24/06 an still waiting. It’ll be 2 weeks this week that it was made a priority 😔 xx

Well i hope it does get soon for you as its stressful enough waiting. And then having to wait to get stuff your child needs is even harder. Ive been waiting since august for my NCs, we need specialist beds for them as they keep hurting themselves in the ones they have got. xx
