Omg that’s ridiculous! Surley it does not take that long 😶!! Nope not with DM either I’m absolutely sick of them fobbing me of now x

And when I called last and asked if there was something holding it up they said no there's no notes on there from the DM at all they're obviously just taking their time. I don't want to ask for it to be hurried also incase it's rushed and declined. So now I'm having to just wait and its killing me.

Try ringing tomorrow morning I don’t understand how one form can take days to make a decision 🫣 are you currently getting middle rate? I’m trying to fight for high rate but it’s to late to send in all my evidence I have now so I’m expecting a decline myself

Honestly it's silly, I even had time to send in extra evidence at week 20 and they scanned it in on the same day the 6th Nov, went to them on the 7th, now apparently I was told that the DM gets a batch of claims at a time and they have 7-10 days to work through them. I don't know how true that is, but mines been with them a week tomorrow. I'm claiming for the mobility component as my son already receives HRC.. xx

Well I couldn’t help myself and ran again 😂! Must be sick of seeing my phone number, he was absolutely lovely he said although it’s not been seen yet they can make a decision so quickly even at the end of day and if I ring back Friday they can try bump me up quicker if I have not received an answer by then .. I’m not holding my breath mind x

@SweetSugarPlum if the school says they wont support EHCP or that he doesnt need one, apply yourself. This is what i had to do. The school even declared in their assessment my daughter didnt need one and is just poorly behaved. I felt so deflated, even questioned myself if i had rose tinted glasses on. Low and behold, she was granted the EHCP and its made such a difference even though its only been 2 weeks because the school still rejected it!! I hope you have a supportive school, alot of schools dont want the hassle. Every professional ive spoken to has said it’s clear she needs it. Wishing you all the best on that journey! ❤️

I had a meeting with my son’s class teacher, before I even asked about anything she explained she wants to put a “support plan” in place (not an EHCP), which I welcomed! I’m not sure how it can support my claim but it can atleast be accepted as some sort of evidence.

I also printed off the page”someone who knows your child” and asked if she will be willing to fill it out for me, which she said she can do, and from that I asked if she can print off the CHAMS referral form so I can also attatch that, in the hope that these pieces of information support my claim and show that he is actually on the pathway to diagnosis and the school agree!

Im not sure what other evidence I can get or how really, if their reasons are also because “it’s not unusual for a 6 year old to XYZ” I don’t know how to prove the severity of things etc. It is all very draining, I feel a bit overwhelmed myself today!

As for the EHCP, why do schools tend not to want to do this? I do feel my school is ok with support however supplying him with blue tack for example to play with to stop “blurting things out” will only be short lived, I suppose I am knitpicking at the small things, he does require 1-1 support to actually do his school work, the teacher wants him to be able to write a sentence independently etc which at the moment he can’t do. I’m waffling on now! X

Youre not waffling at all! We all understand. I cant speak for all schools and all reasons but for my daughters secondary school they dont like binding by a legal document, which is what an EHCP is. And it’s led by the local authority and education phycologist. Schools have their input like i do, but ultimately it’s based on outsiders. It did not go down well 😩😂 But if they have her support, especially the teachers i wouldnt have applied myself. Secondary school is a whole different ball game to primary. If you feel okay now, then stick with your gut. You can always apply for one later down the road when hes older.

How long do UC take to make a decision on backpay been awarded ?,

Waitingmummy · 14/11/2024 19:44

I need help please my child's DLA award has been reduced from Higher rate care to Lower rate care and low mobility rate. I have sent so much evidence including CAMHS, SCHOOL REPORT, HOUSING ETC. I raised a concern with the DM who should contact me (I'm trying to avoid going through an MR as long waiting times) how can I prove the supersession isn't legal?

On what grounds have they said they are reducing it? I would seek advice from citizens advice if you have one near you? Look at the decision letter and argue your case on those points. Have they given you the option to have it looked again without doing a MR? I’ve seen this as an option within a thread.

Waitingmummy · 14/11/2024 21:02

Im hoping the phone call with DM can make DM realise where they went wrong but again theres no garuntee. Im so sick of this been a long time waiting for decision now reduced award

Loulou12321 · 14/11/2024 21:50

Has anyone had any luck with being awarded for joint hyper mobility and knee dislocation? Submitted a MR as completely ignored even though he’s under the consultant and physio

Hi, my S/D is 11/07 and last time I spoke to them they told me I should definitely heae back by 28th of November as that's when my 20 weeks is so you should have your answer by 5th December. Hope that helps

Emat19833 · 15/11/2024 08:10

Yes they said 5th when spoke to them other day dont want to keep ringing bet there fed up of me but I suffer anxiety...my daughters only took 8 weeks from sd to descion but that was 2023 crazy how times change isn't it lol

CarlyD85 · 15/11/2024 10:26

Silent watcher for a while now, SD 2/8-15 weeks today, I rang up today purely as my letter says 15 weeks. The lady did say they are averaging 20 weeks for new claims but checked where mine was and it's in the holding queue and said it shouldn't be too much longer. Fingers crossed before the new year. 20 weeks takes us to 20th December. X

frannygallops · 15/11/2024 13:15

MR submitted today. Told a wait of 25 weeks. I'm not hopeful, even though she absolutely fits the criteria for HRC. Does anyone know how long the wait for tribunals are afterwards?

I think it’s at least 6 months plus to get a date for a tribunal, don’t quote me on that though. We are waiting for a MR decision too. Told 25 weeks too.

Sarahdestiny · 15/11/2024 14:20

Well I renewed my sons claim on 17/10/23 he got awarded HRC LRM
He qualifies under the SMI for HRM so
Put in MR they still didn't change decision After waiting a further 20 weeks for MR
So now been awaiting a tribunal date sent so much more evidance to dla n tribunal but as it stands only been 3 months since started tribunal appeal n nothing so still got a long wait ahead by the looks of it such a long process is draining x
