Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful time.

wait time are currently between 20-25 weeks. However most likely is between 18-22 weeks.

06/06 scan date, DECLINED , absolutely gutted and going for a MR, I could cry, they didn’t reach out to anyone such as school, GP, CHAMS, Paediatrician, apparently it’s normal for a six year old to display the symptoms he does 🤔 well here’s to the next journey 😥
good luck everyone x

So sorry for this outcome! Such a long wait. Wishing you all the luck, dont give up! 🤞🏻

🤣 it certainly feels that way x

Yes This was a new claim, 6yo, ADHD pathway to CHAMS, previously under the community paediatrician who said he certainly needs an assessment and his own words “I will be surprised if he doesn’t get a diagnosis on what I have seen today” switched over to CHAMS due to turning 6 during the waiting period. Sigh I am drained!
school are on board, support in place such as 1-1 counselling sessions for emotional dysregulation and violent outbursts.
Unable to process information which Is impacting his education, I have parents evening today, again not the usual 10 min time slot but a 45 minute meeting as we need more time discussing his needs, they also referred him to CHAMS as they are struggling to support him.
Todays meeting will be a great time to ask for “evidence” I am also going to enquire about an EHCP,
Their reasonings were that he doesn’t have a diagnosis, he isn’t on sleep medication so can’t have sleep issues 🤔 (bit backwards but here we are!), as he is 6 years old it’s not uncommon for children to almost get ran over, six year olds need help wiping (my son will not wipe if I don’t do it),just everything I said they said wasn’t uncommon and I really disagree with absolutely everything the DM said.

Atleast now I know where I stand and I can gather as much evidence as I can! If anyone is also going through the MR could you please inbox me as I’d love to have someone to go through this process with for some support and guidance.

you’ve all been amazing and supportive, I’m not giving up the fight for my son, hang in there everyone ♥️

I really don’t understand how some of them make their decisions or their reasons 😔 x

Hi all, I did write on an old thread but my scan date was 31/07 and finally after exactly 15 weeks recieved a big lump sum today from dla x

Congratulations! Was this a new claim?

gemr93x · 13/11/2024 12:18

I caved and called again, was told a decision had been made this morning, the lady I spoke to on the phone couldn't tell me but passed me through to a man who could. Been awarded HRC, I am over the moon! I was shaking on the phone while he loaded up the account to check! Good luck to everyone else still on the crazy train 🙏My scan date was 5/7 x

I'm a few days after you I'm the 5th July my decison was made today x hopefully you'll hear something soon x

i hope so! I called Monday, first time calling and was told it was with a decision maker but don’t want to call back to soon. I’m not expecting a text as the lady on the phone seemed to have no idea that people received texts and told me to wait for a letter 😅 I may call Friday to see if a decision has been made this week before the weekend. 🤞🏻

This is lovely news. Congratulations. How old is your child? What needs do they have? I’m so close to my decision now but I’m so so nervous x

Congratulations! Was this a new claim?

Yes, this is a new claim for my 8 yo. Someone also asked earlier if it was marked as urgent, no it wasn't, not on my side anyway lol I just sent it normally with the free post address, I even printed the forms myself I didn't get them directly from dla. I don't even have a diagnosis for him yet either, his on the pathway for adhd and autism but yet to receive an appointment for that. I do already have a child who has adhd and recieves dla, so I don't know if that helped get a decision faster?

Kel3270 · 13/11/2024 12:57

I buckled after seeing all the awards today and I called
SD 17/7
nothing new 🤣 just the usual 4th of December shouts

Miguelo · 13/11/2024 13:11

How long would you say is reasonable to wait for school to fill a form in? It’s a tickbox list nothing overly detailed. I need it for DD10 adhd assessment. Sent the form on Monday but haven’t had an acknowledgment email yet.

MrsW12 · 13/11/2024 13:14

I’ve just sent it off special delivery. Wish me luck!

Scan date 5th July
Awarded 13th November
My boy has been awarded high rate no mobility xxxx

spiderweb2406 · 13/11/2024 13:18

I just called too to let them know that my sons referral to the sleep clinic had been accepted but that I had nothing paperwork wise to confirm until we’ve had an appointment but the man I spoke to asked me how to spell sleep 🫣 so I have no idea what he may have written down! Just wanted to make sure it was on there to back up what I wrote about my son’s night time needs especially because at the moment he’s barely sleeping at all. Asked if there was any update and all he said was it’s been sent to the new claims department and that I still have another couple of weeks to wait 😬 makes it sound like an insurance claim not a child!

Noahs 3 years old hes more adhd side well the nursery nurse health visitor all think because how he is. His eatings very little and the same thing he has everyday he don't drink anything but milk we've tried obviously taking the milk but if he don't have that he won't have anything and foods he's just chicken finger and mash or pizza but has to be burnt or he won't touch it and some days he won't eat all for a week or so. He's up through the night barely sleeps but has so much energy xxx I had very little evidence I only had the pathway neurological letter he's been accepted and nursery nurses part the school don't really see much at school for 3 hours so it's a little hard but it'll be okaii I hope you hear something soon it does make you feel sick because it's money to help them isn't it and to take the pressure off worrying financially noahs money will replace all the toys he's eaten or broke in anger and clothing he's chewed and also 24 pints of milk a week lol xxx

It’s addictive at this point😂

im really trying to distract my self not to call because it just leads to more anxiety and disappointment but at the same time people with the same scan dates or later have been awarded 😂 it’s so confusing.

I'll play the devil on your shoulder.... just call, you never know. I was completely honest with the man and said. Look I won't lie. I've seen an end of July case being award today on Mumsnet and I'm here to push my luck. He just laughed and said he'd check 🤣🤣

Oh love him. My little one is the same with food. Will live on fish fingers and chips but won’t eat it even if it’s slightly overcooked. She has drawn all over our walls with biro again, so I’m forever painting the walls. My rooms are gonna be a foot smaller soon with the amount of touch ups I have to do 🤣. I’m so pleased for you. The school definitely backed me up with the wandering off, no sense of danger and the doing random stuff and that she needs regular adult supervision to stay safe and focused x

This is what I’m hoping. I’m gonna call on Friday to see if there’s a decision. Thank you so much 🥰. I can’t believe how lucky I am that they let me take it to post it myself. I’m glad they didn’t send it yesterday now! X

Oh she sounds like noah bless her ❤️ yeah noah runs off won't hold my hand or anything I literally have to carry him everywhere or get a taxi as I don't drive the schools literally 10 mins walking I get a taxi because he just has a meltdown or chases the dogs round the park and don't move or listen when I say no that's dangerous. She sounds so lovely honestly no matter how stressful it is you just want the best don't you and more support for them. Noah eats his comfort blanket and sponges I literally have to hide anything sponge wise xxxx
