I’m a few days after your SD 12/8 I was hoping to hear something soon too because of the 15 week letters they have sent out! but looks like they still working on early July dates yet! 😬

Hi all, I did write on an old thread but my scan date was 31/07 and finally after exactly 15 weeks recieved a big lump sum today from dla x

Congratulations on your award 🎉 was it marked urgent?

Forms received by the dla on 02/07. Rang this morning and decision was made on the 11/11 but guy wouldn't tell me what it was. Said letter was posted on the 11/11. Have had no text and no payment. Does this mean we've been refused? Do they always send decision details via text, if so How long after the decision? Or do they only send a text if you've been successful? If we've been awarded how long after the decision is payment normally made?
Thanks for any help, so frustrating they won't tell you anything over the phone!

I would ring again. They are allowed to tell you. Good luck x

Sophhiiee89 · 13/11/2024 10:28

Kc1999x · 13/11/2024 10:28

No you don’t always get a text. It’s hit and miss so I wouldn’t assume it’s a decline going off no text. Regarding payment I’m not sure how quickly they issue back payment.

The letter we got said 11 weeks for a decision. They are now saying 25 weeks, big difference!

ThisHangryOpalEagle · 13/11/2024 10:47

I ended up phoning. Scan date 12/07. Lovely lady said no decision still. She said she could see a few notes on there to be marked as urgent. She said she would add another note due to struggling financially due to care needs. I don't know how long it will take. This is the 4th time I've called now and every time no decision. They're giving false hope marking it as urgent and then not looking at it.

PhoenixB19 · 13/11/2024 10:57

I'm not even bothering calling today going to hold off till Friday. 21 weeks for me today and looking likely even longer as been with the Dm since 7th !! 😭 x

i regret going urgent on my COC as I felt they rushed the decision and didn’t change the award. I called morning no decision and then called back evening decision was made. You probably don’t have long left. Hopefully you see a good outcome xx

06/06 scan date, DECLINED , absolutely gutted and going for a MR, I could cry, they didn’t reach out to anyone such as school, GP, CHAMS, Paediatrician, apparently it’s normal for a six year old to display the symptoms he does 🤔 well here’s to the next journey 😥
good luck everyone x

MrsW12 · 13/11/2024 11:18

Congratulations to all of those awarded and good luck to those still waiting and I hope it’s not much longer for you. I’m so so sorry @SweetSugarPlum. Did you send much evidence? Well, the school hasn’t sent the form off yet, but they gave it to me to do! I’ll send it next day delivery this afternoon. I had a read and they said she has no awareness of common dangers, needs help dressing, needs support with learning etc. Just that she is able to eat and toilet without help. Does anyone think this will go in our favour? X

Just called and spoke to a lovely gentlemen who confirmed that decision was made on 11/11. My 8month son will be receiving HCR until 2026. Huge relief! Scan date was 03/07 and I only sent a discharge letter from the hospital from when he spent months in intensive care with heart defects, oxygen 24/7 at home, stoma and NG tube. Good luck to everyone! Looks like they are working on early July dates.

SweetSugarPlum · 13/11/2024 11:39

Yes This was a new claim, 6yo, ADHD pathway to CHAMS, previously under the community paediatrician who said he certainly needs an assessment and his own words “I will be surprised if he doesn’t get a diagnosis on what I have seen today” switched over to CHAMS due to turning 6 during the waiting period. Sigh I am drained!
school are on board, support in place such as 1-1 counselling sessions for emotional dysregulation and violent outbursts.
Unable to process information which Is impacting his education, I have parents evening today, again not the usual 10 min time slot but a 45 minute meeting as we need more time discussing his needs, they also referred him to CHAMS as they are struggling to support him.
Todays meeting will be a great time to ask for “evidence” I am also going to enquire about an EHCP,
Their reasonings were that he doesn’t have a diagnosis, he isn’t on sleep medication so can’t have sleep issues 🤔 (bit backwards but here we are!), as he is 6 years old it’s not uncommon for children to almost get ran over, six year olds need help wiping (my son will not wipe if I don’t do it),just everything I said they said wasn’t uncommon and I really disagree with absolutely everything the DM said.

Atleast now I know where I stand and I can gather as much evidence as I can! If anyone is also going through the MR could you please inbox me as I’d love to have someone to go through this process with for some support and guidance.

you’ve all been amazing and supportive, I’m not giving up the fight for my son, hang in there everyone ♥️
