It seems hard to get MR overturned but still possible. Initially wanted to go for new claim mobility but Cab advice ds has a good chance. Will not put my hope up though and definitely not holding my breath. 25 weeks here we go.
Whish everyone goodluck x

The stats are very poor and they advised it would be more likely to be overturned at tribunal than MR but to get to that stage we have to do a MR

I read online earlier that about 80% of MR gets awarded x

I heard it’s about 15%😂 I’m hoping it’s 80%

How long are renewals taking ?

I thought tribunal are suppose to be more lenient...it's going to be a hard process .isn't it🙄

14% last I read. The lady at citizens advice pointed out that more are overturned at tribunal than at MR

Kc1999x · 15/11/2024 18:25

I hope I don’t have to go tribunal however I’m ready to go. Only good thing is you can send photos and videos

I think it’s at least 6 months plus to get a date for a tribunal, don’t quote me on that though. We are waiting for a MR decision too. Told 25 weeks too.

MR here too, my letter said a decision within 12 weeks but I know that’s a lie!!

Hard and long, it’ll probably make the MR seem easy 🥴

Ours said 11weeks, that was back in August. Thought I’d try my luck at 10 weeks to see if a decision had been made only to be told it was now 25 weeks. Shocking

I didn’t know that. If I tried to record my son think he would get mad 🙃 could be worth showing his morning routine which consists of refusing point blank to go to school and spend his day asleep 😫

My boy don’t know what a camera is tbh. So if I point the phone at him he don’t have a clue what I’m doing nor does he care. As long as it ent touching him he’s good😂 I’ve even got footage off the ring door bell of my son trying to elope and me chasing after him, every little helps. I read somewhere about doing all this nearly 3 years ago, so I’ve got like nearly 3 years of picture and video evidence just in case for this specific predicament😂

Wow. That will be very useful. My son doesn’t elope at home but would at school. He’s at a specialist school, doors are only opened by fob. Primary he would scale fences in an attempt to get out! I have those type of written accounts but not picture evidence.

My boy is terrible, out the windows, the doors, any opportunity he is gone. I’m replacing locks constantly due to him breaking them🙃 school he escapes from the windows, jumps the fences, if the door is opened he runs and he’s only 4😂 got this all down on paper, from previous nursery as that’s where he was when the original COC was done, then got a report now from his new school stating all this also. I’m up to my eyeballs in evidence, but DLA don’t even give it a second look.

I feel for you. My boy was exactly the same. He could scale a 6 foot fence onto the garage roof before he was 2 years old. He’d shimmy down the garage drain pipe onto the front street and be gone. Quite often only wearing a nappy and wellies 😂 We ended up having to instal cctv in and around the garden just to catch him. He’s 9 now and medicated for ADHD. I can laugh about it now but at the time I could’ve quite happily put him up for adoption 😂

Yes this but barefoot for us. He doesn’t know how to put on a pair of shoes yet🤦🏽‍♀️ Im in the process of getting the cameras up out back (just moved house) for the mean time I’ve knocked all the neighbours to keep eyes out for him just in case. It’s stressful, want to rip my hair out best part of the time😂

This is where a statement of reasons for their decision would be helpful. My son is 13 and does what your son but at school. I’ve kept all evidence even from primary school so if we need to go tribunal that will come in handy. He’s on waiting list for RISE referral for the third time due to concerns around his mental health. I feel if we had been listened to earlier he would’ve been managed better when he was younger with school. He’s been out of education for so long it’s now not normal for him to attend and when he’s there he just refuses to do anything at all.

SKB12 · 16/11/2024 14:10

Yeah the statement of reasons was a joke tbh. None of this taken into consideration🙃 any sort of help for children with additional needs is a joke atm, I’ve just asked the school for some help and referrals because once diagnosed no one cares anymore

Do you get DLA at all or are you going for a higher rate? X

we get the DLA at high rate for care, currently doing an MR for the mobility side

Ah I see. I only ask because I’m still waiting for my decision 21 weeks on 😫. DLA asked the school for a report which they’ve done and is now on my notes. The teacher said she needs regular adult check ins as she will wander off or not stay with the rest of the class when moving around the building as she gets fixated on things. She has flooded the toilets by playing with water, and regularly needs the have get clothes changed because of playing with water. She’s in small groups for learning because she’s a bit behind, does not focus, has a short attention span and needs instructions broken down and repeated. Do you think this will be enough to get awarded based on your own experience. She is also 4 x
