@Mommy2boys30 that's hopeful I applied at 2 years 5 month too! I hope she does too as I wouldn't mind getting her some more speech and language here you get one sesson and a write up to follow from then you can only go to group sessions and she doesn't like other children so she has a melt down and we leave :( or she hides her head in my lap and won't interact the whole time

Fingers crossed for you both hopefully you don't to wait too much longer now

Mammymummymam · 07/08/2024 09:43

Is anyone able to make a new thread and post the link? I dont know how to do it and I dont really no how full they are allowed to get. Just for people commenting and still waiting :-).
Im 17 weeks and really hoping for a positive outcome in time for my daughter starting school in September as her nursery don't think she is going to beable to manage 5 days at school. I was originally hoping for a decision this week as i have seen a lot be awarded at 17 weeks, i was told teice it was eith a dm however last time i rang i was told it was waiting to be assigned

My anxiety is nuts, I just want to know incase I need do to a reconsideration. I’ve called 4/5 times in the 17 weeks so far, when I did call yesterday she said they’re unable to see if it’s with a decision maker and it is looking closer towards 20 weeks at the moment

CoralSheep · 07/08/2024 11:11

I called Monday and was advised the time scale had been changed to 20 weeks as when they were advising 15-17 weeks, alot of claims were becoming overdue so they have had to extend advised wait time xx

Brichy95 · 07/08/2024 12:05

Wondering if anybody has an answer to this as I can seem to find the info anywhere.

I already claim carers element for my partner
and get disabled child element for my son (HRC)

can my friend who helps us out claim the carers element for my son? And will I still be able to get the disabled child element if she does?

Rayne20 · 07/08/2024 12:13

Hi everyone, not been on here for a few weeks.. SD 5th March, awarded LRC & LRM on 26th June, started MR on 26th June, I've rang once to check additional evidence sent in had been received and scanned on which it had but not been told the wait time for MR, has anyone else lately? Don't want to ring because they speak to people like crap so puts me off! Thank you in advance!

What I'm awear of is only one person can claim carers element for caring for that child. I presume is the same as carers allowance how they work it out with it being 35 hours care needs for that child, I'm not 100% but pretty dame sure or everyone will care for someone if that was the case that more then 1 person can claim that's element

Is your scan date 26th June, even though you submitted it that day it has to go through different departments and normally takes a few weeks before you get given a new scan date by letter, Mr are taking 15+ weeks but up to 20 again hope that helps

I was declined so I have a MR in from 7/6/24 ( applied originally 16/01/24 ) , on Monday I called and requested it be marked at priority as per advise from the HV as the SALT and EYIT have been pushy and moaning about son needing it to help get him a placement in a setting ( 8 refusing due to his needs ) and DAF , she said she can only mark as urgent and to call back in 2 weeks if I don’t hear anything from them . If it wasn’t agreed as urgent/priority then 7th June won’t be looked at until September, so I assume that yours will be towards the end of September but some DM seem to be faster and nicer at awarding , it all depends on who is given it and if they have any AL due

No you cant both claim benefits for the same child.
This is from the gov website…

If you care for the person with others
You cannot get Carer’s Allowance if you share the care of someone and the other carer is already claiming:

Universal Credit

Universal Credit is replacing 6 other benefits with a single monthly payment if you're out of work or on a low income - eligibility, how to prepare.

careers element and careers allowance are different components. Careers element is only for the household. If it is extended family or friends they would need to claim careers allowance and that has an income threshold.

Thanks,
its a little confusing still as I don’t claim any of the above amounts for him. I only get the Disabled child element not the extra amount of UC for caring for somebody. I may just ask UC to be sure

Emssxo · 07/08/2024 13:20

Just found out my son was awarded MRC and LRM on 2/08 and backdated to 16th February. Can anyone please help me with how and what I do now in regards to updating universal credit and what I need to ask for/do? Been nervous about this part the most😔

xxholr5xx · 07/08/2024 15:01

Looking on Facebook in the past couple of hours people with scan dates of 08/04 and 09/04 have been awarded today. Wish I had the chance to ring up and speak to someone about our claim but with it being the summer holidays that’s impossible 🙈 when you do get the back payment does it only appear in your account after midnight? Or can it appear at any random time of the day?
