The wait is awful! I’ve seen dates after ours so I don’t think they do it in any order! 🤯 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

I don’t either I’ve seen 30th of April today and the 19th awarded x

12 weeks in and I know it ll be much longer but so anxious my eldest daughter was awarded just after her 3rd birthday

Daughter I'm claiming for is alot more severe non verbal sensory processing disorder was diagnosed asd just after 2nd birthday (scored 27 ) her care needs are high and she has just finished a portage assessment which has stated she needs 1-1 at nursery (info not sent as haven't received it yet ) I feel I may have claimed to early as she's 2 and this may effect her claime as I've seen people say that they have been declined because the dm has said all 2 year olds need high care anyone been in a similar situation and been awarded ?

I have claimed for a 2 year old previously. I don’t think the age is the problem. If the child is younger lack of evidence could play apart. I would just send any evidence you have a long with claim and might benefit from a health care professional or nursery worker writing a statement about your child. 2 year old is quite early to get an ASD diagnosis (although not unheard of) can I ask if it was a private assessment?

When did u call? Xx

Ellejkjlljhb · 06/08/2024 21:00

@zoeybrooks45
Hi no it wasn't private my health visitor saw clear signs at 18 months old and saw the effects it was having on her and because her sister was diagnosed pushed it through at 20 weeks we saw the paediatrician for the first meeting you have we could barely complete the appointment my child was so stressed drew on there walls he had to sit in front of the door as she was trying to get out self harming hitting him she was stimming all through ect we were really lucky and he agreed to test her just after her 2nd birthday she scored 27 which is high and has a development delay I think I'm just really lucky I have a good health visitor that listens and doesn't mind putting the extra work in

I have sent her assessment and pre assement as well as the health visitor filling in the extra part for me I'm still waiting for the write up from portage but I'm unsure whether to save that incase I need to do a mr or send it and hope they get it in time I guess it depends on whether I get it soon or not I just worry she won't get the support she deserves she could do with some sensory equipment that will last more than 10 mins and she's the size of a 5 year old and has grown out of her buggy and could do with a disability buggy tbh so it would ready help plus she causes breakages daily she doesn't stop always on the go

GemzZ92 · 06/08/2024 21:22

Just been awarded for my boy....ive now updated my UC. How long does it take for them to verify the new changes? Ive also requested that they backdate carers element and disabled child element. We dont have a work coach as we both work....but i just wrote in the journal. Is this the correct thing to do? Ive never wrote in the journal before. Xx

Also go onto “ change for people that live with you “ select the child you now get dla for and it asks questions, just fill it out as yes to getting dla and how much , they will confirm it and hopefully reply back on the journal with in a week or two with a link to a letter with the “ we owe you money “ heading and it will have all the details on it … they will also change your past Uc statements so they also have the elements on them from the date the dla started .. sometimes they pay back pay fast ( few days ) some wait 6-8 weeks … if you hear nothing from them by 10 days write again asking for update on the back pay for elements or phone them if you call the have to reply on the journal with in 48 hours

LoisDaniellex · 07/08/2024 08:11

not for me but didn’t expect it I’ve just gone 17 weeks yesterday x

Ellejkjlljhb · 07/08/2024 08:20

@Mommy2boys30 that's hopeful I applied at 2 years 5 month too! I hope she does too as I wouldn't mind getting her some more speech and language here you get one sesson and a write up to follow from then you can only go to group sessions and she doesn't like other children so she has a melt down and we leave :( or she hides her head in my lap and won't interact the whole time
