Child disability element universal credit

Hi,

Does anyone know if universal credit back date the child disability element from when you first called dla for the claim form (which dla too will back date) or does uc child disability element start from the date dla make the award?

Does anyone know why my cdp payment wouldn't have gone in today? Last one was 3rd May and I assumed every 4 weeks.

@GrandTheftWalrus the child disabled element isnt a separate payment like DLA. It gets included in your UC monthly payment if thats what you mean?

It is in Scotland. It replaced DLA up here. But I got in contact with then its apparently due on Monday.

Well it working I had message off complaint worker dwp universal credit take case on look in to the complaint and on my journal see what message have been like what going and will have a resolution 7 days what ever that means
And dission maker want info on bedroom support bit and even tho that come back no now look into it go futher until done that but been like 9 weeks why only get in touch now so see this women sort it out quicker now have answer for me as now friday ? 🤞 another week to go it my birthday next week so wouldn't that be a nice birthday present to get 😂😂

its been a week since coc but i know itll take about 4-6 weeks so not stressing like i was the first time. I feel more equipped for the wait. Im still fighting tax credits for 7 months back pay because of migration notice with my youngest daughter. Thats 14 months and still on going since i put in the application for DLA. My oldest daughter i applied DLA in feb and ill be sorted with UC by june so completely different this time around.

Yeah we've got child disability payment and adult disability payment up here now instead of dla. My payment went in today as my bank still does Monday payments on a weekend.

Hiya just reading threw this thread, I’m going threw the same didn’t no anything about the higher child element etc, requested for a backdate after it was verified, it goes back to feb 23 when my high rate care started but I’m just not hearing back and it’s still with decision maker, no one reply’s in journal etc it’s driving me mad did everyone end up getting there’s is there any reason decision maker wouldn’t give me the backpay on what I should of bin getting etc

@Naddy08 They will back pay. If it’s been longer than 2 weeks since you first requested back pay on your journal and youve sent multiple messages since. Give them a call, say you need help getting a response on your journal. They will write their own message on your journal and give the case manager a timeframe to get back to you with an update. If they try to fob you off, just ask them to write to the case manager for you. Good luck!

Thanks for help , I got sorted they got case manager on to it I had sort out within the week thankfully now been paid out 😊 it been nightmare but unless complain to them and go above there heads won’t rush out but good luck anyone who wait hopefully have dealt with if wait to long go on gov web paige complaint dwp if been week wait not hear anything what I did got complaint women on to them sort out and then case manager put in place she sort out within week set bank tranfer there then good luck

Just been told by universal credit I put middle rate instead off high rate care only getting 146 instead off high rate that should off been given in 2022 will they back date her

Hiya i asked about back pay for the child element on my journal and they told me they would put in a request application through for me. Since then ive had one letter on there stateing ive been eligible since my sons dla award but nothing else. Does this mean i wont get back pay? As ive not had a mention on decition maker or anything. If anyone knows?

Just popping to say it was over a month before we received our back pay letter thru UC…. We were awarded in middle of may (applied in feb) and I had a letter last Friday that they have decided to back pay the child element, I expect it’ll clear our account in a few days…

Same as me applied in Jan scan date was Feb and heard back in may we were awarded dla, still waiting on uc back pay they said it was being sent to decision maker soon as I let them know of award but been almost month now still not heard anything back yet..

We got ours into our account today. I have my fingers crossed for yours to be paid soon!

Can I ask how long anyone waited? I have been waiting nearly 2 months and heard nothing. I have put numerous journal requests in and get same response back, is there anything I can do to hurry it along Or get some answers?

Hi I had letter today about back pay on uc journal and from when you posted am I right in thinking it took about a week after letter for payment? Thank you in advance.

Hi, we had the letter on the Friday and it was paid in on the following Tuesday so hopefully yours won’t be more than a few days xx

No idea tbh, we updated our UC as soon as we got the letter (around may 20th) we got the letter to confirm we were getting UC back pay on the 30th June and it was paid into our account on 2nd July. Fingers crossed you hear soon! X

Anyone know how long this should take, I realised I was entitled to backdated pay from 2020, update my journal accordingly etc and it’s went to decision maker that was 2 months ago… I’ve messaged asking and all I get is “there is no time frame takes as long as it takes” surely there’s something I can do to hurry this along?

My son was awarded HRC and LRM last week I informed UC no response as yet..however I'm a bit confused on payments/backpay...claim has been backdated through DLA March 11th .does u/c backdate from when DLA claim does? How much is high rate care component on u/c ? Thanku 😊
