DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Hi yes I seen on a other thread thay work on a Saturday as to try and clear the backlog my scan date 14th March the stress is starting to catch up on me hope everyone gets what their children deserve

Yep when I call them some weeks back DLA also told me they play catch up on the weekends and up until 7pm on weekdays

Oh great thank you 😊 x on Thursday I was told our application was with a decision maker but heard nothing since 🤦‍♀️ anxiety is through the roof literally watching my phone waiting for a text message 🤣 scan date 10th March

Just reporting back re a renewal. Claim ended on 23rd, decision was made in 22nd! Very close to the line indeed!!!

Great news for us girls my DS was awarded on 22nd June LRM MRC x until 2027 😁 I am so happy, but most of all I would like to thank you guys for being such a support throughout this long process 😀 good luck with all your claims I so hope it's not to long a wait for you all x 😀

That's brilliant my scan dates 14th March they've told me 16 week wait now 😦🤐

I'm scan date 16th and this morning got told 16-18weeks now.. draining the life out of me this xx

Honestly it is so draining 😪 hopefully the waits not as long as they're saying xx

It really is especially when one call they make you think oh yes the waits nearly over and then in the next phone call ya getting told 2+ more weeks. I'm just going to try and not think about it and hopefully hear something soon. Haha x

I’ve just got off the phone to them after an hour and 15 min wait. Scan date is 20th March and he said to me it’s taking 16-18 weeks now too. Said that I probably won’t have a decision until end of July 😩 when originally I got told it would take upto 12 weeks. On week 14 today thought we only had a week at most to wait but now got to wait until end of July. Could cry 😅 xx

That's amazing! Did you say your scan date was 10th of March? Mine is 9th of March, yet I haven't heard anything. Do you think that means I've been declined? Also, how did you find out, over text or just checking your bank?

had a text today to say we are still looking at claim. scan date march 29th hoping not much longer

I hadn't heard anything so I phoned the dla line bang on 9am this morning because I was so anxious. Yes that's correct 10th March. They told me that I was awarded on 22nd and the back pay should go in my bank tomorrow. (They don't always text and takes ages for letters to arive in the post) so you never know if you ring up in the morning then you may get some good news 😁 I will keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞🤞

When you ring though don't wait for them to read all the options first list should be English or Welsh options so press 1 for English
Second list of options you need option 6 for discussing an ongoing claim for someone under the age of 16 the option 3 for talk to an advisor. So if you ring at 9 am and just press the right key without waiting for them to go through the whole list then you might get lucky like I was this morning and get straight through 😁

Quick question, are we reward the date they accept the application or from when i called up for the form etc?

Hay I've got scan date of 29th aswell. I've had another text today. Saying still dealing with your child Dla 1 form. So fingers crossed not too much longer too wait. Hoping all the best for you lovely x
