Pb12three · 22/05/2023 18:17

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

Hi everybody! Good news, I was awarded yesterday, just called up this morning, got the low rate care and low rate mobility (we only expected low care at most due to lack of outside involvement) fingers crossed for you all, my scan date was 9th of march =)

Wow its such a long process for neuro-development team to even speak to you. My 12 year old son was diagnosed last year with autism after 2 years wait and 4 years of back and for the hospital I'm so glad you've got a diagnosis for him x everything is blamed on covid though 🤦‍♀️. I'm so pleased for you 🙂
Send the information recorded if you can so you know they have received it x
Good luck 🙂

Thank you I've been watching my phone like a hawk a day 🤣. I'll be devastated for him now if they tell me no. X

yummy992 · 22/06/2023 15:32

Hiya oh gosh. 2 years is better still not great 😕. I will be sending it's all recorded. I've still got 3 weeks for the 15 week mark. it's very soul destroying waiting for all these things to come through.

muddlingalong · 22/06/2023 16:58

How long did it take from posting to getting an acknowledgement that they have received it?

Mamaclo · 22/06/2023 17:27

Is anyone’s scan date around the 20th March and had any info back? I’ve had 2 texts saying they’re still looking at the claim but nothing else. My anxiety goes crazy at the wait 😅

My scan date is 10th March I did have a letter last week on around 15th June which was dated 23rd April so too over a month just to get that so yours may be on the way too 🙂 I rang up this morning and she said they send it to decision maker as it gets to 16 weeks my 16 weeks is tomorrow yours would be around 2nd July 🙂. Good luck with your claim. I don't know about anyone else but my anxiety is through the roof today I can't concentrate on anything 😅

I think it was around 3 weeks after sending because by the time they receive it it takes 2 weeks to scam on to the system apparently. 🙂

Mumof4amazingboys · 22/06/2023 19:28

Sorry @Mamaclo I mean 15 weeks not 16 🙂

Mine took a week to come after posting my forms and evidence off. I didn't have any texts or anything after that but on week 14/ nearly 15 I recieved a text to say my daughters been awarded if that helps

My scan date is the 29th March. I've had a letter and 1 text so far they're still looking at the claim but it seems like from the threads it doesn't get looked at until week 15-16 and then know within 1-2 days once the decision maker has it. The wait is awful

Mamaclo · 22/06/2023 22:31

I did phone up on Tuesday (took 1 hour and 30 mins 😅) they said that I was week 13 on Monday and it would be with the decision makers on week 15 so I think the 3rd July for me maybe 12th/13th for you. Fingers crossed! My daughter has had DLA since she was 1 then we moved houses and I forgot to update addresses and the claim stopped she’s 5 and a half now so I had to re apply and this is why we are without & waiting but still really anxious about it 😩 xx

Lo89 · 22/06/2023 22:46

Yea I reckon you will hear in the next 2 weeks. 🤞🏽 hopefully all goes well I'm sure you will be fine it's for hard to get DLA that young so hopefully all goes in your favour. This is my first time applying for my little girl so nervous of being rejected and the forums make me think I've not sent enough evidence 😩
