Pb12three · 22/05/2023 18:17

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

Scan date 9th of March, still not heard anything except that they recieved the form, anyone near the same date heard anything? I'm on week 14 so far xx

MENTALHEALTHMUMMY · 15/06/2023 17:44

Fingers crossed you hear something soon, it's a long wait. I've seen a few people call up on week 14 and they have been awarded. I'd definitely give them a vsll tomorrow and see if any update. Hope you get the outcome you want x

Darkmiss · 15/06/2023 18:38

I will do, the wait is so long isnt it, fingers crossed for everybody waiting on some good news, I'll comment back when I have an update, I'm a bit nervous calling them incase they get mad because the recorded messages on the lines say theyll contact you when a decision has been made 😂

Well I got awarded and to this day no-ones ever called me. So I wouldn't worry about upsetting anyone by calling.

Darkmiss · 16/06/2023 17:08

Called up this afternoon, said the wait times are now 16 weeks from scan date xx

Hi just wondering If anyone's scan date is the 29th of March. I'm on week 11 for my son. Its crazy this wait. Thanks 😊

Hi I have the same scan date as you. I've had a letter to say sorry for taking so long and a text last week they're still looking into the claim 😩 it's such a long wait

yummy992 · 17/06/2023 06:52

It's frustrating. I've been told so many different things. 15 weeks 16 weeks. The week commencing the 12th it will be with a dm. Now its the middle of July I will get a decision. Hopefully not too long now, I will be ringing Monday to see what's happening.

MENTALHEALTHMUMMY · 17/06/2023 09:05

What's your scan date? It's getting too the point I'm obsessing over it because i don't know what's going on😩😂

IcanandIwill · 17/06/2023 09:36

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the timescale for renewals at the moment?

DDs claim runs out 26/6, the forms have been received as I sent recorded post but I've had no text etc from DLA to confirm from them, just my proof from Royal Mail. My concern is that they may not have been scanned yet.

I gather renewals are being processed only a day or so before the end of the claim.

Just wondering if there are any recent experiences to reassure me?

Yea I called yesterday she said 15 weeks so beginning - mid July.

@IcanandIwill from other threads I've seen people say they get processed just before the claim ends and usually hear within couple days of that date of the award

IcanandIwill · 17/06/2023 10:19

Thank you @Lo89. That's reassuring that you've picked up the same as me. Think I'll call Monday to reassure myself they have the forms and then try to forget about it for a few weeks!

Mammyof5cherubs · 17/06/2023 12:07

Hi my scan date was 31st March I rang up last week just to see if they’d received the extra evidence I sent in and they said that they have received all the documents and that I should hear 2nd week in July xxxx

MENTALHEALTHMUMMY · 17/06/2023 12:13

Im 1st of March and heard back/awarded about 8 days ago. My cousin who is 9th March is still awaiting an outcome. But I've seen someone on another thread who was 6th March has been awarded, so hopefully this gives an idea of what part of March is being dealt with (all new claims btw) ☺️

MENTALHEALTHMUMMY · 17/06/2023 15:22

Ah i guess it goes on how fast the dm gets through the work load maybe. I don't know but boy it's frustrating getting told something different everytime you phone up lol. I'll try my hardest not too call up until end of the week😂😂.. keep us updated guys 🤞

Education psychologist report, supporting letter from School, and assessment (Adhd) report and appointment letters (for Art/drama therapy

Sweetsweetlike · 17/06/2023 20:56

@candywoo I did also tell them about home-life for my DC's in the evidence form of a 5 day written diary showing what a typical day/week looks like and the tools we use to support his needs during the day/night

MENTALHEALTHMUMMY · 17/06/2023 20:56

I sent ds my support plan, letter from school, his EHCP, letters and assessments from specialist cahms, police/hospital letters and then support letters from ss/child in need and support worker and therapist letters and I've recently received a report from SEHM outreach teacher. Hoping it will get there and seen before i receive a decision. X

Darkmiss · 17/06/2023 22:01

I sent in all assessment reports from her asd journey, her asd diagnosis letter, letters from the council after assessing for ehcp needs and a support letter from a relative because shes now home educated and we have no school to ask for an educational report

MENTALHEALTHMUMMY · 18/06/2023 10:05

Hey, yes he is atm but currently waiting on a decision on something called turn around where they will take him on for a few weeks and decide what school is best for his needs. He won't be going too a mainstream high school thats for definite x

LocoCoco13 · 18/06/2023 16:23

Hi. No idea if this is right im pretty new to mumsnet but anyways I'm looking to know what evidence people have sent away and have they got a claim.

My 3.5 years old attends a SEN play school so have reports from them have 2 reports from educational physiologist and reports from 2 different SLTs outlining all of his needs but I don't think this will be enough?

He his non verbal and has little to no understanding. He only sleep 4 hours max a night needs constant help through the day as he cannot do anything himself he has sensory issue very Frequent meltdowns and when he's having them he I'd a danger not only to himself but others aswell. He also requires adult supervision throughout the night as he is as said before a danger and needs alot of deep pressure messages. He also does not eat very well and has sensory issues. All this is noted in the reports that I do have. But because I don't have a pead report I don't think they will accept it?

Mamaclo · 19/06/2023 11:35
