@sulli19 this really does sound identical to my boy. He walks into thinks without a care walks over everything has no understanding of feelings an emotions and doesn’t even respond to his name. He eats the same things everyday and 3 dinners I have to rotate. It’s so painful and I feel like I really didn’t get it out enough in the forms. His scan date was the 27th so I’ll keep an eye on your updates as a guide for me.

@Kc1999x you’re so correct. It’s so hard to get it down in paper too. If only they could watch a day in ours lives

sulli19 · 28/06/2022 22:05

@Memum22 yeh my daughters is more a physical disability but its invisible she has ehlers danlos syndrome.

My son is like your son, he's 11 in August (this is my first time applying for him) he's autistic. I'm same have rotate meals, he lives of pasta, beans on toast and waffles and beans. I can't get him to eat meat, he needs supervising eating because he could choke. Its awful, I'm glad to see this thread because I just don't feel alone anymore. So hard sometimes, no one around me understands because I don't have friends with SEN kids x

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 28/06/2022 22:05

Kirstiiee · 28/06/2022 22:17

Think we will need a new thread.
can people tag me when one is made please.

same as my son. He takes ages to settle then he can be up through the night once or twice for an hour sometimes 2 hours. I also have a 10 year old boy who has adhd, anxiety and high sensory needs and is also being assessed for autism and is on 3 lots of medication a day, one of them is for sleep.
this page really has helped me not just for DLA but also to know I’m not alone.

my middle child who is a girl 6 years old is doing amazing. My boys have different dads, I do believe it’s from me as my daughter and youngest have the same dad.

hope I havnt confused anyone.

sending love to everyone. 💜

sulli19 · 28/06/2022 22:40

Could I be tagged in new thread aswell please when it's up 🙏

Could cry! Just checked my bank this morning and there’s a payment from DWP!!! We have been awarded!!! I honestly thought with the luck we are having it would be a no!
No idea the rate as tried dividing and can’t work it out but I’m just so happy we are entitled! I think it’s possibly MRC as I never applied for mobility as don’t think we need it.
Scan date was 11th April. Keeping fingers crossed for you all as I know a lot of us similar dates.

Hey new here, Was following the other thread. I rang a few weeks ago, mine is with a decision maker but was waiting for more information from school. My scan date is 1st April, hope this helps x

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2022 07:43

Here's a new thread: www.mumsnet.com/talk/special_needs/4579066-dla-wait-time-2022-part-3

@Kirstiiee and @sulli19...here's where to find it!

Naomi153726 · 29/06/2022 09:07

hi new here, i have just phoned and they said its on a decisions makers desk to be finalised, what does that mean?

Kayla77 · 29/06/2022 09:29

Hi,

Can anyone please tell me how long it normally takes for Universal Credit to sort out the carers and disabled child element.

i notified them last wed 23rd June that my son has been awarded MRC and asked if they could back date it from 9th march which was when I got the claim pack. I then got a message last Saturday 25th June saying it has been passed to a decision maker and they will be in touch. Does anyone know how long it can take from this stage please.

Thank you. X

Hammers91 · 29/06/2022 10:06

@Twinmummyanda7yearold mine went in today, so must have done it over the weekend, back pay of £1464.40😳 so yours actually could be in tomorrow.

came at a great time really as he starts primary in September & need to order his school uniform. Going to treat him this weekend too he deserves it, especially after yesterday as he was meant to have an MRI at 9am, waited 2 hours so he was frustrated & running around the place ( what 4 year old will sit still for that lot let alone one with ASD ) he had to fast so hadn’t eaten since 8pm the evening before just for them to cancel it because he has clips in his heart ( he had a PDA at birth, operation at 15 months ) and they didn’t know if it was metal clippings - it wasn’t even with his notes & they couldn’t get a response from GOSH. 😩 I told them he he’s on the pathway for ASD so if they can do the MRI again he’ll be done first.

GerriJnr · 29/06/2022 11:49

i had a call on Friday from them and it came from no caller id.

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 29/06/2022 12:39

@Hammers91 well I rang for rates this morning and my little girl has been awarded HRC for 2 years 😁♥️ so I'm absolutely over the moon.. wow that was quick! Well it would be amazing if it went in tomorrow but I'll try and not get my hopes up and think it's going to be Friday instead haha 😂
Fingers crossed for everyone else yet to be awarded! 🤞🏼

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2022 14:26

How are you feeling today, @Twinmummyanda7yearold? Are you home now?

Don't know if you saw that we were awarded yesterday? MRC and LRM for 4 years!

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 29/06/2022 14:42

@NoWordForFluffy oh that's amazing! And for 4 years I bet that's a relief!
They let me home last night after lots of tests, back today for more tests, I'm only 29 so shouldn't be suffering with such high blood pressure so they're trying to find if there's anything underlying causing it.. hope I can go home soon tbh, I get fed up of sitting about 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2022 14:52

Yes, so he'll be 12 when we have to reapply. I think it's a sensible length of award.

I hope you get answers soon. I know what you mean about sitting round. So frustrating.

I went and ordered a shit tonne of Lego for DS when I got the news! It's his 'thing'. His birthday is in a few weeks. He'll be so excited! (I'm saving some for Christmas.)

Mumabear239 · 29/06/2022 14:56
