sulli19 · 28/06/2022 17:43

@Twinmummyanda7yearold congratulations 🎊

I'm only day after you 🤞 I hear tomorrow/Thursday xxxx

Kc1999x · 28/06/2022 17:51

Hi everyone. Anyone heard anything from scan date 26th of April?

sulli19 · 28/06/2022 17:55

@Kc1999x not yet no sorry, I'm 13th and it's only just got to case manager this week still waiting to hear. Hope you here something soon. X

Kc1999x · 28/06/2022 18:03

Tbf im hoping it’s a little bit longer didn’t manage to send any evidence in with my form except the name of my sons gp and nursery. Nursery are doing a care plan for him now and should have that Thursday along with some other bits, hoping that I can get that evidence sent before they make a decision! Hope you hear some good news soon🤞🏽🤞🏽

Hammers91 · 28/06/2022 18:20

@Twinmummyanda7yearold yay! Congratulations… 🤍

so rewarding and a weight lifted when you’re given positive news on it. With mine being yesterday I should receive back payment on Thursday - you’ll be Friday hopefully! ❤️

Bizzlemizzle · 28/06/2022 18:36

@Shannon26 Hi! Renewals are being done in order of renewal dates, its usually 1 to 2 weeks before your renewal date but some have said theirs hasn't been done until the day before.

They are working on renewals up to the 18th of July this week

I'm 12 April and sent more stuff a fortnight ago. It was there before it went to a DM (where it's lingering!).

Ah it's so frustrating considering when they send the letter they state 8 weeks! Thanks for letting me know 😊

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 28/06/2022 18:49

Omg yes a massive weight does feel like it's been lifted! I'm deffo ringing in morning to find out the rates (I've ended up in hospital due to high blood pressure, dangerously high at the doctors earlier so been sent straight to hospital) probably all the stress on waiting on this claim! 🤣🤣 hopefully be sent home with some medication.. we all know what it's like we haven't got time to be ill have we with SN children to look after 🙈 @NoWordForFluffy keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 28/06/2022 18:51

@Hammers91 thank you so much, yes I felt like I could cry my eyes out when I got the text! Such a massive relief, just want to see what rates now and how long the award is for and hopefully like you say get back pay in my account Friday to treat my little girl ♥️ let me know when you get yours 😬

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 28/06/2022 18:52

Don’t really have much hope with my little one actually getting awarded. He was only 2 in April. He’s been given an “underworking autism” diagnosis. He’s non verbal and has no understanding. Global development delay and pica. I only sent in the report from the specialist we’d seen and no reports from his nursery. I feel like I’m going to be told all 2 year olds take a lot of looking after so he’s not harder work than them right now. Anyone has any hope at a younger age? He eats everything he sees. It’s so hard to stop him chewing my sofa, or eating things off the floor. He needs constant watching

SickKid · 28/06/2022 19:34

@Twinmummyanda7yearold hope you're OK!

I know this is the wait time thread but wanted to share these sites with you all. it’s for those who have a valid DLA claim, access card is for free companion tickets, queue hoping and discounts all over the UK (theme parks, theatre etc) and the CEA card gives free companion tickets at cinemas.
I was sent them from our MAST worker in Sheffield

Rose1919 · 28/06/2022 20:48

Do DLA call from an unknown number or one with 0800? I missed a call from ‘no called ID’ and worry it’s DLA people - will they call back? No message left either 😬 the one day we have swimming and I can’t have my phone! Wahhhh

Kirstiiee · 28/06/2022 20:49

sounds just like my 2 year old son, they received he’s on 22nd April and just a waiting game. He needs constant supervision, I call he’s name and he don’t look at me or anyone, he starts nursery in September so I don’t even have that to help me.
I had a charity in my area help me with the forms because he is so young, I wasn’t going to apply but they said I should.
he head buts the walls, floors, eats anything he can touch, head buts the car seat and window while I’m driving. Dosnt speak, dosnt say anything. Just humms, claps, screams, spins in circles.
he also will not eat from a plate, fork or spoon, will only drink from one juice bottle and has to be juice, and carry’s the same blanket everywhere.
so much more but I really do feel how you feel xx

Kirstiiee · 28/06/2022 20:51

@Memum22 sorry my post at top of this one was for you lol xx

This is exactly like my child, he needs so much more care than any child I know of the same age. Even night times he’s up so many times, can’t even remember what a proper nights sleep is like🤦🏽‍♀️ Wouldn’t change him for the world though. Hope you’re claim is successful, and everyone else who is currently waiting x

sulli19 · 28/06/2022 21:01

@Memum22 my daughter was 19months when she was first awarded, she got refused but I fought their decision. Their reasoning was all kids her age need extra support. So I said "what your telling me is all kids her age deal with dislocations,sublextions, sprains. All kids her age have to have heart scans and have to visit 4 different hospitals almost every week" it soon got over turned the minute I mentioned all the stuff she dealt with and extra help she needed compared to a child that age. This was 6 and half years ago, havnt had an issue with any renewal since.

I hope everything goes OK with your little ones claim, if they refuse fight it, pin point everything as you know yourself that your little one needs more support than a child their age. Good luck 🤞🤞 xxx

Kc1999x · 28/06/2022 21:10

Isn’t it crazy that us as parents know our children better than anyone and know that they need extra support and more care needs than a child of the same age, yet it’s left in the hands of a stranger who don’t know them at all, and if they disagree we have to fight it. Fingers crossed for all of us🤞🏽
