Yes, I think that's it, @Twinmummyanda7yearold. We had the start of the dyspraxia assessment on Saturday and the (absolutely lovely!) lady who came round picked up on recommendations in the autism diagnosis report that DS needs more investigations into his sensory issues. We need the DLA to pay for this kind of input.

She also said that the SENCo saying we wouldn't get anywhere with the EHCP due to him being academically able was 'bollocks', as it isn't just about that. And, if he could perform better with assistance, then that's the aim of an EHCP. So, that's my next battle! Once he's been assessed fully, I'll apply myself and see what happens.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/06/2022 09:10

I rang! It's with a DM, but no decision as yet and can't say how far up the pile of work for that DM I am. I'm more nervous now than I bloody was before! 🙈🤣

Amberb83 · 27/06/2022 09:11

Day off work today so making the call!! Currently on hold... scan date 27th April will update you all with any info once I finally get through to someone!

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 09:14

Well I've rang.. she said it's been assigned to a decision maker but it still seems like how long is a piece of of string 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I asked for a text message to be sent if awarded and she said they don't send text messages 😳 I actually said well that's strange because I've seen text messages when people have been awarded from DWP 🤷🏻‍♀️ she said she would put a note on my file asking for a text message if awarded... so back to the waiting game.. I'm getting so frustrated now 😩 she said working upto 17th this week.. @NoWordForFluffy

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 09:17

@NoWordForFluffy that's good at least they're with DM finally!! 😬 but she said same to me, they can open a file on a morning and there be 2 there... or open the file and be 100 claims to look at so it's literally luck I think isn't it now 😬 let me know if you hear anything 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Amberb83 · 27/06/2022 09:19

Just spoke to a lovely lady.... sounded very flustered when I asked her how much longer... she said claims are generally taking 10/11 weeks more so 11 weeks atm and i should hear by 13th july she was extremely apologetic... as much as her apologies were given nicely doesn't stop my frustration of the wait!!!

Amberb83 · 27/06/2022 09:20

@Twinmummyanda7yearold @NoWordForFluffy what are your scan dates??

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 09:21

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 09:22

sulli19 · 27/06/2022 09:24

Currently on hold, scan date 13th april I'm hoping they have a decision 🤞🤞

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 09:25

Amberb83 · 27/06/2022 09:27

@Twinmummyanda7yearold 🤣 lol I guessed April.. 🤞 you hear soon... keep us updated.. so sad isn't it day off work and my priority was to call dla! the constant checking every fb page, on here, and my bank account is like a second job!!

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 09:28

@Amberb83 trust me you're not the only one 🙈🤣 I just want to know a yes or no now, it's driving me crazy 😩

If you are applying for an EHCNA and the LA agree to assess you don’t need to pay privately for a sensory OT assessment, it can be included in the EHCNA. And, if the LA agree to issue and EHCP sensory OT provision can be included in the EHCP.

Outnumberedbyboys3 · 27/06/2022 09:37

I’m the 11th April but only just called Thursday to be told another 2 weeks! Said taking 12 weeks mine wasn’t with a DM yet either. I did say well surely it will be within 2 weeks as 2 weeks takes me to nearly 13 weeks and you just said it’s taking 12 🙄 and she said oh yeah I meant within 2 weeks so who actually knows now! We’ve been having a lot of bad luck so I really think we will be a no. Son is Autisic, I sent the full report as well as his EHACP and some diagnostic report school did to show how far behind he is academically.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/06/2022 09:38

Now I know it's with a DM, I'm going to irrationally worry about not having a text (even though I know they don't all text). I'm a fruitloop. 🙈🤣

Yes, the OT told me that on Saturday. However, that will take ages and DS is suffering now. So I'd like to at least do something until we get funded provision.

(It's your posts which made me question the school's opinion, so thank you.)

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 09:41

@NoWordForFluffy I think this whole process has made us all fruit loops 🤣🤣 imagine if they get awarded and then when it's time for renewal and we have to go through it all again 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 09:43

@Outnumberedbyboys3 I really don't think they know what they're talking about half the time I had to keep reminding the woman this morning that mine was the 12th and not the 26th as she kept saying for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ yours should be with DM now as they're working from 11th to 17th this week apparently so 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Ah yes, the EHCP process takes 20 weeks so isn’t an immediate solution.

Hammers91 · 27/06/2022 09:46

my scan date is the 10th April & still nothing 🙄 I too had a dream about it last night so it shows how much this plays on peoples minds.

sulli19 · 27/06/2022 09:53

@Twinmummyanda7yearold he told me he can only see last week's updates as they havnt been given this weeks updates as of yet, but this weeks update is due today. He said last weeks shown that they was working up to the 10th of April and as my sons is the 13th april the likely hood is it will be with someone this week. But it just depends how far down the pile my sons is. He said worse case scenario is it will be another 3-4 weeks until I get a decision 🤦‍♀️ ring back up in a fortnight for an update 🤔. Already been waiting around the 12 week mark I was told nearly a month ago they was taking 9-10 weeks 🤷‍♀️ over a week ago I was told another week to week and half.

Basically none of them know 🤣 this is horrible waiting, I have seen people on 12th scan date have had their decision and that's only a day before mine. I have asked if I can have a text message and he said well we have your number but you may still not get one 🤦‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 27/06/2022 09:55

The woman on the phone laughed when I said that I'm rubbish at waiting! She was lovely. Even though she couldn't help!

MamaBB821 · 27/06/2022 10:16

Scan date April 11th called this morning and was awarded on Saturday. HRC lrm

Outnumberedbyboys3 · 27/06/2022 10:22

Oh I’m also the 11th! I was trying to give them till end of the week before calling again! I’ll try till Wednesday haha!
