@Outnumberedbyboys3 I'm trying to hold off to the end of the week as it's more likely mine will have been looked at by then but it's so tempting to ring again today. I keep making excuses to ring in case they can see how often I'm actually contacting them 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 27/06/2022 11:09

That's what I was doing, @Bizzlemizzle! I'm all out of excuses now though. 🤣

Mumabear239 · 27/06/2022 11:54

Hi all , I was wondering if any of yourselfs are awaiting a decision for a COC . I’ve heard they are taking 20 weeks , is this normal as I’ve never did a coc before . Xx

Decafflatteplease · 27/06/2022 11:56

I'm waiting on a COC and I've been told 18 weeks. It's been 17 now I think so hopefully soon for me!

Mumabear239 · 27/06/2022 12:02

I am just off the phone to them @Decafflatteplease they are on and up to the end of March she told me so by next week should be the beginning of March , I’ve still got a long wait 7th April mines was scanned . Goodluck

Mumabear239 · 27/06/2022 12:03

Sorry end of February

Decafflatteplease · 27/06/2022 12:11

Aww thanks for the update that saves me ringing!

Hammers91 · 27/06/2022 12:28

I feel like ringing but my hands are shaking already just thinking about it & hearing the possible dreaded declined after so much hard work filling in the form and getting all the evidence.

Hammers91 · 27/06/2022 13:09

Well I did it, woman was lovely - the system froze 3 times but she persisted to get it loaded

my little boy has been awarded HRC! I thought it was decline as she said a decision had been made and a letter would be sent out so I asked what the decision was that’s when she said!

im absolutely over whelmed and was completely crying down the phone, I wasn’t expecting HRC at all. I was the 10th April ladies so you wonderful lot on the 12th will be any day.❤️

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 13:20

Yaaay 🥳 congrats 🎉 @Hammers91 that's amazing news!

Hammers91 · 27/06/2022 13:23

Thank you so much @Twinmummyanda7yearold - seems I was right to phone today after my dream about it all last night. Still pinched myself after the call just in case I’d gone back into a dream 🤣

im not on UC I’m still on the old tax credit system do I ring them up once I’ve received my letter to tell them of the award?

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 13:25

@Hammers91 I'm not too sure about tax credits as we get UC🤔 but I presume once you know the date you were awarded from you can call them asap 😊

NoWordForFluffy · 27/06/2022 13:55

Congratulations, @Hammers91!

Got to be onto 12 April soon (if they aren't already there)!

I'm on the old style tax credits and I phoned them when I got the notice of dla they were great sorted the new claim straight away. Really pleased for you

Hammers91 · 27/06/2022 14:22

Thank you so much ladies! Makes me now want to go pub and celebrate 🤣🙈

I’ll certainly be keeping an eye on the thread to catch up on everyone else waiting! Not long now for you all.

dawny30xx · 27/06/2022 14:31

Hi, I’m a coc scan date 1st March so hoping I should here next week then if they are up to the end off feb! Feel like forever 😫

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 14:47

I've seen a few get texts from the 12th today 🤞🏼😬

SickKid · 27/06/2022 15:35

I got my statement of reasons today (was awarded middle rate care last week). They said his night needs are in line with his peers the same age - seriously? This is a child prescribed medication to help him sleep, only sleeps maximum of 5-6 hours in one go, is awake anytime from 1am for up to 4 hours before returning to sleep. He has the developmental age of 11-20 months at 4.5 years old so cannot be allowed to roam unsupervised at night (or in the day tbf). Will be writing my letter for mandatory reconsideration this week

Twinmummyanda7yearold · 27/06/2022 15:42

He sounds very much like my 3 year old, I'm worried they will say it's 'age related' but I've done a lot of comparing to her twin sister who falls to sleep easily, will sleep 12 hours consistently and they have the exact same wind down routine every night etc 🤷🏻‍♀️ let's be honest we know ourselves that their behaviour isn't 'typical' the only evidence I have for night time needs is that she has been referred to a sleep clinic because of her 'disordered sleep' and obvs my own words.. so we shall see.. but I'd deffo do the MR you know your child more than anyone else

@Chattycatty did they keep you on tax credits? I'm worried they'd try and move me to UC if I rang and changed it. I'm trying to keep on TC for as long as possible

Hammers91 · 27/06/2022 16:04

@Bournecrazy they will keep you on it id imagine, everyone will soon be changed to UC think it’s next year.

Bournecrazy · 27/06/2022 16:13

@Hammers91 I don't work and on tax credits that's fine but if I get moved to UC they'd force me to look for work as both kids are in school. I'm waiting for both to go high-school before I get back into it, I just can't do it at the moment

Legofigure · 27/06/2022 16:23

@Bournecrazy if DC gets DLA you would be entitled to the carer element of UC, therefore your work commitments turned off. Do check (or post a bit more information about your situation and I will work it out for you) what you would get for UC as some parents with disabled DC find they are better off on UC.

Bournecrazy · 27/06/2022 16:33

I didn't know that, so that's good to know.

There's not much to go on, DH on 21k/yr, I don't work. 2 kids, rent but don't claim HB or any other benefit

Legofigure · 27/06/2022 16:40

@Bournecrazy are you or DH over 25 and was at least one DC born before 6/4/17? Is £21k net? Are you private renting or council/housing association - if it’s the former what is your LHA (for 2 or 3 bed depending on your circumstances) and if it’s the latter what is your rent. Then I can work out what you would get. If you rent but aren’t claiming HB you will most likely be better of on UC because you will get a rent element.
