Making hay while the sun shines and always adoring Beatrice.

I have chosen the thread title this time, because current circumstances means the sun isn't always shining for Beatrice at the moment. Indeed, she is currently in hospital in a fair amount of discomfort. However, when the sun does shine, and we have bright and clear days, we pack in as much as we can. Smile

When we brought Beatrice home from SCBU, we had the consultant's words ringing in our ears, 'Take her home and make some memories.' I feel confident and proud that we have made a treasure trove of memories, however long Beatrice's life may be. She continues to be surrounded by so much love and adoration from her family and I feel this love has helped her to thrive.

During the difficult days, such as these, we pray hard for peace and calm, and for a quick resolution so we can take our darling girl home and make even more precious memories with our beautiful Beatrice.

As with all other threads, same rules apply Wink, read if you want to, post if you can, but above all, please spare some positive thoughts or prayers for Beatrice. Smile

That is amazing Cup! While I was a student I went on several trips to Lourdes as a helper on holidays for disabled children (rather than their whole family). Their needs weren't as complex as Beatrice's, but looking back I am amazed their parents entrusted them to us - I hasten to add there were medical staff with us! We all had a fantastic time and the atmosphere was incredible - groups of children and helpers from all over the UK went for a week after Easter.

So now I shall be praying like mad that Beatrice gets her passport in time. I hope you'd tell us Cup if there is anything we can do beyond praying to help you get the passport in time - I know getting a passport quickly involves travel and expense. We'd want to sort that for you if you'd let us.

mymatemax · 18/08/2012 18:17

Fantastic, if they cant offer you an appnt just keep ringing & ringing, they do have cancellations.
We just turned up at Peterborough & were sorted as they could fit us in. Was a while ago though

sneezecakesmum · 18/08/2012 21:34

The passport should take about three or four weeks to come through. If you really can't wait to travel, there's a one week fast track service costing £96.50, or a one day premium service costs £109.50. You need to make an appointment for these by calling the Passport Adviceline on 0300 222 0000.

found this online re passports think its still valid

KateUnrulyBush · 18/08/2012 22:03

:) Meant to be I'd say.

fhdl34 · 18/08/2012 22:18

I'm not religious but I'm really hope with all my heart that you get the passport in time to go, especially after how you've been feeling recently. Many people have said it but I'll say it again, I'm in awe of you, you are a very special person and so perhaps it isn't so surprising that Bea is so very special too (as I'm sure are your other girls). I know you don't feel strong but I really think you are, and I'm sure that's where Bea gets her strength from too. I'm thankful that I'm lucky enough to get to read your updates and listen to Bea's progress. both she and you inspire me and make me appreciate things in my own life more. Thank you for that x

Oh Cup!! How exciting - praying really hard that you get your passport in time! They used to be able to do it for you there and then if you went up to the office, but last time I tried that it still took 3 days to process (Backlog, postal strike, BH monday type of stuff).

That is such good news - life couldn't be cruel enough to deny you it because of a lack of passport.

saffronwblue · 19/08/2012 03:30

Everything crossed for Bea's passport.

DottyDot · 19/08/2012 09:54

ExitPursuedByAGoldenBear · 19/08/2012 15:37

That is such fabulous news - please to whatever powers that be that you manage to get Bea's passport in time.

MNP · 19/08/2012 16:13

Fingers crossed. Passport is dOable in 2 days.

RunYouBastardRun · 19/08/2012 20:09

Wow! I read your post out to my mum yesterday and we both prayed for you. I was racking my brains to think of a way to get you out here (France) and put you all up in my 1 bed gite without you spending any money. Funnily enough I didn't come up with an answer but it seems that God had his own plans. I'm so happy for you.

moajab · 19/08/2012 20:33

cupofteaplease · 20/08/2012 14:33

Brilliant news! Fingers crossed! X

silverfrog · 20/08/2012 18:14

oh, what lovely news!

Don't know if you have been to Lourdes before - if there is anything you want to know, do ask (have been a few times, both with and without children) and I can try to dredge up memories Grin

It is an extraordinary place - both incredibly busy and yet somehow tranquil. Very hilly though!

fhdl34 · 20/08/2012 19:43

Oh cup, I'm so excited for all of you. Fingers crossed for Wednesday morning x

Northernlurkerisonholiday · 20/08/2012 22:34

Praying all goes smoothly. I have a friend who is a nurse and volunteers on this type of trip.
