Nothing much to report in the house of Ben tonight which is great Grin ....no hospitalisations, no problems in school and DH got a met in his yearly appraisal which he was panicking about given my poor health and DS's assessments and dx having caused so much upheaval this year.

DH out for most of the weekend so DS and I can chill out and do nothing, maybe order a takeaway or do a drive through McDs tomorrow - sounds pretty good to me!

Finally asked my old university friend whether her DS1 had a dx having noticed his obsessions with trains, pylons and wires for years. He is due to get a dx next week! Him and DS already think that they are best friends even though they haven't ever met Grin.

i'll get in quick this week, i find it hard to keep up as the evening passes Blush

well, after all my anxiety/swearing and near meltdown, we survived the latest CAMHS session and now have it on (not quite best) but good authority that DD is most likely to have an ASD dx very soon, with reviews to be set in place as she gets older (for ADHD and others)

the extended family have chosen to ignore the fact, even my Dsis changed the subject when i called her and told me all about a rat that was eating her bird food

i'll toast everyone with a Brew for now, the wine is for later

Happy Friday everyone Thanks

Busy week here, Dd3 unwell at the beginning of the week.

She is going to a wedding with her friend from school tomorrow so there have been lots of preparations for that, she is stressy and nervous but she really wants to go.

I have started my transitions at work as the nursery places are being offered as we speak.

Hope everyone has had a good week.Smile.

Ben10NeverAgain · 20/04/2012 16:31

I think that you definitely deserve the Brew Unchartered - I'm so pleased that the dx process is over for us. It seems to have taken so much stress away knowing I don't have to prove myself all the time.

Weddings are ridiculously stressy I think Ineeda - My brother is getting married in 44 days (so my STBSIL says on her FB Grin) and just getting the outfits and then thinking about pressie etc is stressy. DS and I are being dressed courtesy of ebay Grin

Unchartered, my family are pretty rubbish when it comes to Dd3 and her dx.

I lent my mum 10 things every child wants you to know..... But it hasnt made any difference to the way she is with her.

Am glad things are moving forward for you, be kind to yourselfSmile.

Hello, can I join in. Been a lurker for a while on the Friday night thread. Seeing the title has made me wish I had bought Bailey's just now and not a bottle of wine!

DS2 had one major meltdown on Tuesday. Becoming a bit more frequent and distressing, including suicidal thoughts Sad Been on the phone to CAMHS to see what they can do.

Dr said he sounds like he might be bipolar Hmm

Anyways he still manages to delight is with his 'isms'......

"If you were going somewhere and needed to be there for 3pm, what time would it be if you were fashionably late?" Answers on a postcard pls...

Ineedalife · 20/04/2012 16:36

This is an asian wedding so she is being dressed by her firends family. She has tried on outfits and chosen one and bangles and sparly shoes. Tonight she is going to get henna patterns on her hands.

She is very excited but very stressy, she is adament she wants to go I just hope it wont be too much for her.

The lovely family she is going with have sn children and understand her needs very well so i know they will look after her.Smile

Ben10NeverAgain · 20/04/2012 16:37

Hi Nothing

The Bailey actually came out last night and I was a little disappointed TBH. Have you bought Rose? I'd much prefer that :)

How old is your son? Does he have ASD? What are CAMHS doing to help?

I would say fashionably late would be around 3.23pm

Good afternoon (evening?) all. Wretched week and still feeling a bit raw after last night's fiasco in here. A lovely friend of mine came over with her little one and spent the day visiting with me, so we had a good chat. And I'm off in a few hours to go over to another friend's house for coffee and a chat this evening as well (usually we have wine, but we're being good tonight - where's that "angelic" emoticon?? Grin)

Although Baileys sounds good too...... Grin

Triggles · 20/04/2012 16:40

3:23 pm? goodness... how very official! Grin

I am a sad "always early as I have a phobia about being late" person...

Ben10NeverAgain · 20/04/2012 16:44

What happened last night Triggles - sorry you're feeling rough.

Really pleased that you are getting out and socialising. I just don't go out. I am very unsociable.

Ineeda That sounds so exciting. One year we went to a wedding on an island, one in Italy, a Jamaican/Sri Lankan one, a Bajan/Mauritian one and I'm sure there was one more. We were all weddinged out but the variety was fantastic :)

I hate being late. I get really stressy if I think I'm going to be late.

No Baileys for me ta. Tea with two sugars in it would be good however.

DS has gone to play with one of his friends so am on my own for a little while longer. DH and his accompanying cold virus is still at work. Roll on the weekend!.

Has it really only been a week since we came back off holiday?!. This time last week I was sitting on a plane trying with varying degrees of success to sleep on the redeye back to the UK.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 20/04/2012 16:46

Triggles - what happened yesterday?.

Hope you're feeling okay today.

UnChartered · 20/04/2012 16:46

Hope she has a good time Ineeda, i remember when a guy from work (when i had time for all that gubbins Grin) got married, he's hindu and his ceremonies went on for days, i didn't go, but all that did said it was the most glamorous thing they'd ever seen - photos were fab!

Ben10NeverAgain · 20/04/2012 16:46

Just found a Saturday morning ASD club just 10 minutes up the road. £2 per session with bouncy castle, wii, trampoline etc. Now I feel that we can "officially" go to ASD clubs I think that will be a regular Saturday thing :)

OP posts:
nothinginthefridge · 20/04/2012 16:47

Ben10 - he's almost 12. I think he does have ASD, but we're banging our heads against the system at the minute. Sounds like you've all been there.

CAMHS are coming around in May to see what they can do, that's all I've been told. He's on a high at the minute, so we're in the trying to keep him calmer stage!

And I can't believe you were disappointed with the Bailey's!! Maybe you need to perk it up to a BMW Wink

triggles with you on the being late phobia. trouble is DH doesn't give a monkey's if he's late. So it's me sat in the car waiting for him to get ready usually Grin

Ben10NeverAgain · 20/04/2012 16:47

Where did you go on holiday Atilla

OP posts:
Ineedalife · 20/04/2012 16:48

I hate being late too. I have learrnt not to tell Dd3 we are going to be late for school though as for some reason when i say we are going to be late she walks slower. Aaaarrgg it is so frustratingGrin.

UnChartered · 20/04/2012 16:50

DH is late for everything, i like to be on time or early, but not stressed about it, DD on the other hand... Confused

help yourselves Smile

Ineedalife · 20/04/2012 16:52

Wow ben, great news about the club, i hope it is good fun.

The support group i go to try to do some thing on a saturday sometimes. It is great, the kids can all meltdown together if they want to. Lol

AttilaTheMeerkat · 20/04/2012 16:52

Orlando in FL. It was about 30 degrees warmer than it is here.

Redeye arrived earlier than scheduled at around 6.20am. Note to self; have £1 coin for luggage cart on arrival!. Only had a £5 note and some US change on me; none of that is acceptable for a cart!!.

Ben10NeverAgain · 20/04/2012 16:53

That's why I live next door to the school. I can time it so that we can get straight in without having to wait around. My problem is the unbelievably slow dressing aaaaaaaarggggggggghhhhhhhh

nothing we've all been there and know exactly how you feel. All you want is for someone to validate what you have been observing and tell you what the problem is. It's hard that he has got to 12 without a dx. How does he cope in school - I can imagine it might be difficult for him.

The Baileys just tasted more alcoholic and less creamy than normal. I haven't had it since Christmas. I might have to have a bit more later (just to try, you understand!)

Ben10

Ta for the sugar.

Hope that Saturday morning club goes well for your son. Sounds good.

Read some interesting articles on ASD from the USA Today in terms of how research is going, its probably somewhere on their website if you want to read it.

Ben10NeverAgain · 20/04/2012 16:54

I can't believe that we are watching The Incredibles AGAIN - aaaaaaaaaargggggggggghhhhhhhh. My life is cartoons on repeat over and over and over and over
