Nothing much to report in the house of Ben tonight which is great Grin ....no hospitalisations, no problems in school and DH got a met in his yearly appraisal which he was panicking about given my poor health and DS's assessments and dx having caused so much upheaval this year.

DH out for most of the weekend so DS and I can chill out and do nothing, maybe order a takeaway or do a drive through McDs tomorrow - sounds pretty good to me!

Finally asked my old university friend whether her DS1 had a dx having noticed his obsessions with trains, pylons and wires for years. He is due to get a dx next week! Him and DS already think that they are best friends even though they haven't ever met Grin.

Yes Beca. And feel good about taking time for you because then you are able to cope with life better

Ben10NeverAgain · 22/04/2012 09:52

Sorry to hear you are feeling so rough Becarooo. I have never felt as tired as I did when I was anaemic last year. I could hardly talk, let alone look after anyone else. Hope they get you fixed up sharpish :)

Sorry to hear that you're feeling pants Bec. I have been anaemic several times myself, and you do quite literally, feel washed out. Be kind to yourself. Rest when you can, take lots of vitamin C with your iron supplements to help absorption and eat plenty of nourishing and filling meals. Smile

Triggles · 22/04/2012 15:49

And to help with your iron absorption :

Iron should not be taken within one hour before or within two hours after taking: antacids, calcium supplements, caffeinated beverages like soda, tea and coffee, eggs, milk or other dairy products like cheese and yogurt etc, cereals, whole grain breads including dietary fibre, medicines which contain bicarbonates, carbonates and phosphates.

hazeyjane · 22/04/2012 16:03

I'm sure you have tried everything, Becaroo, but I found throwing Spatone into the mix helped (on top of iron tablets and a half ton of dried apricots) when I was anaemic.

Trying to have a cinema at home with the girls, because it is hailing and stormy out, poor ds has been ruining it for them by screeching and throwing pombears around, so he and dh have been banished into the storm, leaving me to 'tidy up'.

Watching Toy Story 3 again.

DS refused to go to Beavers church parade today or the park. He just likes to stay inside at the weekend. He likes clubs afterschool but at the weekend he wants to do nothing, except go to play crazy golf. We could play it all day long.....

It's a shame as they were all going to Rochester Cathedral for St Georges Day and all the Scouts from the area were going to retake their promise. Even with me saying he didn't have to do the march up with the flag etc (we've seen them do it before when he had previously refused to go) it wasn't happening. Hope they don't all get a special badge from it as they sometimes do.

The ASD club that we thought ran on Saturdays is now only Mondays so will try that tomorrow. Hope he likes it. I'm going to see if we can get some short breaks hours so that I can get someone to take him when I return to work (whenever that might be).

Hazey Love the obligatory Bear for the Mumsnet film afternoon Grin

Thank you all for the sympathy and advice....have been out and got some orange juice and will get some spatone too when I get to the shops.

I literally CANNOT believe how bad I feel...I am struggling to do anything...I did 30 mins ironing yesterday, some baking and cleaned the bathroom and I was in bed at 8pm Sad

Its awful.

Oh, and am bleeding AGAIN...roll on gynae appt! As an aside, can I ask if any of you have had/know someone who has had a hysterectomy due to problem periods?? Any info/advice appreciated (I should say that there is family history...both my mum and sis had a hysterectomy before 35)

ben Ds1 is the same...he really likes to be at home at the weekends...he is refusing to even consider Cubs which is a shame Sad

Pre school again tomorrow...please think of me at 9am!!! Smile

SallyBear · 22/04/2012 20:42

I had horrendous periods. Got worse after each pregnancy (3), I had a Thermal Ablation a year after no. 3 (DS4). It made a huge difference. I just mustn't get pregnant again as the embryo wouldn't attach properly. The only downside is that period pain is worse than it was before, but oh so much better than before when I couldn't leave the house for four days every month. Smile

Ben10NeverAgain · 22/04/2012 21:19

Bec There are lots of hysterectomy ladies on our prolapse thread here

Good luck for PS tomorrow :)
