Nothing much to report in the house of Ben tonight which is great Grin ....no hospitalisations, no problems in school and DH got a met in his yearly appraisal which he was panicking about given my poor health and DS's assessments and dx having caused so much upheaval this year.

DH out for most of the weekend so DS and I can chill out and do nothing, maybe order a takeaway or do a drive through McDs tomorrow - sounds pretty good to me!

Finally asked my old university friend whether her DS1 had a dx having noticed his obsessions with trains, pylons and wires for years. He is due to get a dx next week! Him and DS already think that they are best friends even though they haven't ever met Grin.

zzzz I have five too, two with autism one with dyspraxia and two others. Would have liked one more but felt I was pushing my luck.

Lollipop, so sorry that one mindless uni brat ruined your exhibition. Glad he got kicked out. Good luck with getting all your filmwork completed, it sounds like you are well on the way.

creatovator · 20/04/2012 19:43

Hi all,

Good week here. DCs have settled back into school. My DD told me I'm slim Grin Grin. I managed to crack how to present the results in my dissertation and DH is is usual cheery self again.

My local councillor also got SW to be in touch as we've been waiting for Direct Payments for 3 years for DD. SW coming out to see what he can do as DD has been on same place in waiting list for about 18 months. DD hasn't had a SW for several months, so this is a turn up for the books. All reports say this particular SW is good.

Have also decided to try to move this year, but not quite sure how it's going to happen. We currently live in a city, but having been brought up in the country I'm not coping well. I need more space!

Okay, think I've caught up.... I've got 2 DCs. 1 dx AS, the other NT, but with some very interesting traits lol. I'm 24 and a few extra months Grin

insanityscratching · 20/04/2012 19:48

Yes my youthful looks belie the fact I have a houseful Grin. To be fair the oldest three have always been the easiest kids on this planet so much so I wanted about ten at one point.
Used to say someone looked down, laughed and said "she's got it too easy we'll send her ds 3 so she knows what having kids is really like" Grin

devientenigma · 20/04/2012 19:50

lol DH is one of ten Wink

moosemama · 20/04/2012 19:50

zzzz, the thing is, it took him spending a few hours at our house for me to click that he probably has AS. Before that I always thought he was just a stuck up brat (see above comment on the state of our house). I am now very ashamed of myself for being so judgy and not stopping to think about it a little more, but at the same time can't help bristling around him.

Interesting that ds2 has chosen to be best friends with him when he is so similar to his big brother though. Especially as ds2 keeps telling me how much he needs a break from ds1, yet his best friend treats him in an almost identical fashion. Confused I guess a change is as good as a rest?

LollipopViolet · 20/04/2012 19:50

Well, he only defaced the wall, VERY close to my pictures. If he'd touched the pictures, I'd be on the news for going after him brandishing a tripod to be inserted somewhere painful Grin And a few of the organizers said, had he attempted anything on the pictures, they'd have hurt him Grin gotta love the student mentality sometimes!

hazeyjane · 20/04/2012 19:51

trying to get a wired ds to sleep, he looks like a crazed bushbaby because his pupils are still dilated from opthamologist this morning!

will try to skim read thread.

moosemama · 20/04/2012 19:52

Creatovator, good to hear you've had a good week and things are starting to move forwards for you. Nothing like a bit of positive forward motion to lift the spirits. Smile

creatovator · 20/04/2012 19:53

Moose definitely. Don't worry about the swimsuit thing... once you're in no one can see you... at least that's what I always tell myself!

moosemama · 20/04/2012 19:53

Aw hazey, I remember that look from ds2's days of constantly being at the eye clinic. Have you seen Puss in Boots? It really reminded me of ds2 on eye drop days when Puss did the big kitten-eyes thing. Grin

moosemama · 20/04/2012 19:55

Yes creatovator, but you have to try and get from the changing rooms to the water without anyone seeing your wobbly bits! Shock

I haven't worn a swimsuit since 1987 and I was only 7 stone 4 lbs back then.

creatovator · 20/04/2012 19:55

Hi Hazey hope he goes to sleep soon.

SallyBear · 20/04/2012 19:56

Poor DS4 still had huge pupils 48 hours later! He was obviously very susceptible to refraction eyedrops! Confused

creatovator · 20/04/2012 19:57

Agreed Moose, but that's only a short time.

SallyBear · 20/04/2012 19:57

Moose have you gone to Bravissimo? Their swimsuits are fab. I was the same weight in 1987 too. Not now Sad

creatovator · 20/04/2012 19:58

Ooooh Sally didn't know Bravissimo does swimsuits. How much are they?

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 20/04/2012 20:00

hazey, how did ds get on?

I have 5 too, although mine are quite spread out age wise which makes life a little easier!

hazeyjane · 20/04/2012 20:01

can i heartily recommend the swimdress for the walk of shame from changeroom to pool, i practically skip out now!

SallyBear · 20/04/2012 20:02

Creator. About £40-55. But they are good. bravissimo swimwear

hazeyjane · 20/04/2012 20:03

The opthamologist could see the ptosis in one eye and thought that it could cause problems in the future, one pupil is more dilated than the other, which she wants to keep and eye on, he is quite longsighted, which is ok for now, but if it doesn't improve he may need glases and he has an astigmatism in one eye, he also needs eyedrops to keep his eyes moist as he tends to sleep with his eyes open, so all in all she wants to review him every 6 months. Aaaah, one appointment box ticked!
