@Babybell8also I do large letter even if it’s small as you don’t get the tracking or delivery photo on small envelope size xx

No problem if your anything like me you’ll be constantly refreshing the app from 4 🤣 sometimes it’s a couple hours before they update it. All of mine have arrived at the West Midlands mail centre 4.30-5.30am then delivered 1.30-2pm and I’ve been lucky as then been scanned same day xx

Sounds like we’re very alike then 😂 be glad when it’s done. Honestly can’t cope with the anxiety of it all. Xx

JAZ44004 · 01/10/2026 13:29

Popping my non update update on! New claim.
Date sent: 23/07/26
Text received to say they got it: 28/07/26
Letter received to say they have it: 22/08/2026 dated 15/08/26.

Current wait: 9 weeks, 2 days as of 01/10/26.
Location: Surrey (in case location matters).

Honest opinion: I don’t think we’ll be awarded. Son is 3 and a half, with suspicions of AUD and ADHD but had been through many channels including: Speech and Language, Audiology, and Physiotherapy.

We are awaiting an appointment for a developmental paediatrician, the autism assessment and medical appointment as he has tremors. I honestly don’t even know anymore.

It’s terrible I’ve had it constantly since May really. I’m really anxious about my MR I was pretty angry, submitted it the same day I got the rejection letter. I wrote it professionally, but think I may have gone a little too far in my letter that I followed up with 😬 xx

Mumto4and5 · 01/10/2026 14:02

The thought of having to do a MR fills me with all sorts of anxiety and dread. 😬 I just feel it’s so much pressure on us as parents to express how much care our children are needing compared to another child of the same age. Personally to me it feels more like I’m being tested if I pass or fail . I know that sounds bizarre to some people. I’ve sent so much evidence with the claim , and wrote a 7 day diary etc also. So I must of explained enough and clearly but I don’t know.

I wish I could just be one of these people who think well if they qualify they do if they don’t then they don’t… but I know 100% she should qualify for her care needs, so just fills me with loads of anxiety.

if someone else told me how hard this process is I would never of appreciated what they mean, it’s only now I’m in this situation I totally understand xx

Rachael93 · 01/10/2026 14:17

whats everyone's MR dates please and does anyone know where they are up to on the MR decisions as I know these are in a different que, thanks 🙏🏼

I totally understand you. I think it’s the unknown and the fact a complete stranger is judging your child by what’s on paper alone. If they even properly explained the full process it would make it easier, especially seeing dates all over the place. Better still a tracker or even if their system sent a text or email when something happens. They do send some texts but it’s so inconsistent and it doesn’t need to be. Xx

Ok thankyou, mines 27/7 still waiting been told it's now in Que 2. There's 3 ques supposedly but what that means I don't know 🤣 just hoping for a decision this month, I think there working on Junes still

Babybell8 · 01/10/2026 14:36

Oh no I hope you get it. I was expecting a no people kept saying send in a diary of care which we don’t do it’s just everyday life for us so it’s routine we don’t diary it and havnt been told to so I thought I’d send a extra bulletpoint cover letter of what we do that’s extra to the care of other 9 year olds and how often and all the online doctors consultations I have for him I didn’t include. Just posted it in a locker that’ll be collected in the next 2 hours and I did tracked 24 hours so fingers crossed it’s scanned in by Monday and before they look at the claim. Thanks again for your help with that xx

i did a night diary as my little girls night time needs are high , so the incontinence team told me to do it as a support evidence. I feel like I could send more and more every day , but just hold it out now and see what happens xx

We never thought of applying for dla before. A friend of mine told me to look into it and when I was reading up I was so surprised that we could actually get it. We’ve not got as far as being told we need to keep a diary. If we ever need to Ofcourse we will. Sons having lots of investigations into why he is bed wetting ect and lots of other things. I feel it’s always been fobbed off not taken seriously but finally he’s under ent, been sent for bloods and referred to camhs so atleast we’re getting somewhere. I was worried we got no diagnosis yet obviously except from ent. But hoping the cover letter and referrals and doctors appointments are enough

SilverGlitter26 · 01/10/2026 14:59

Does having to sleep in with your child class as night time needs? I have to lay in bed with her and it takes her ages to fall asleep. Takes ages to even get her into bed. I cant even get up to go the toilet because she wakes up and we have to start the whole process again. She is 7 and has combined Adhd and probably autism(going through assessment now) so we do both sleep but If I get up shes up and it all starts again.

I dunno how they assess it.

Did DLA tell you there’s 3? I know there’s one which is a month long initially for you send evidence etc, then the DM queue. Dates on MRs seem so random, seen a few June, January to March and a couple of August which is annoying xx

No problem. With that one I didn’t give the detail I perhaps should have so went war and peace with the MR and sent diary more evidence etc. Then with my other child’s which is 30/7 I went at it like I did the MR trouble is don’t have much evidence as they are both on waiting lists for different things. I did do a diary only 4 days on both the MR one was 27 pages long for day and night and new claim 20 pages day and night. Both made me realise how much I do for both boys (very different needs) and how little sleep I actually get which just become my normal that actually really isn’t normal for children of the same ages. Xx

Yes a man told me last week there's 3 ques and mine is in the second one awaiting to be go to case manager, I know I see the January one, I'm hoping we will find out this month as people seem to be waiting round about 3 months for decision on the mr xx

ClaudettedeBeauvoir · 02/10/2026 01:17

Has anyone gone over their renewal date without a decision? I thought they usually try to ensure you don't have a gap between awards?

My daughter's award ran out on 10/08/26. I sent the renewal back in July, scan date was 14/07 and I've heard nothing. Final award from the expired one has been paid.

Thank you! Mixed emotions this morning. It’s great my daughters struggles have been seen but it’s the quiet reality that other people can see it too and I’ve always known she’s disabled but it’s the confirmation if you get me xx

100% get you. When I received a letter following up from an orthotics appointment confirming problems with my youngest legs and feet, I cried my eyes out for days even though I’d known in myself things were wrong from a tiny baby. It just makes it all real doesn’t it. Xx

Exactly that. People don’t get it either if they haven’t lived our version of parenthood. they just think ah well it’s extra money. We’ve seen health professionals etc but I’ve always just been able to put it to the back of my mind but this has hit me like a ton of bricks. But I can save this money for her for her future and get her everything she needs to due to her disability at least ❤️ very mixed feelings. Xx
