that sounds like really strong evidence to support your claim. I have a 5 year old as well and the difference in care is huge between them. They couldn’t be any further apart. X

I sent a lot to be fair! Paediatrics which confirms she’s delayed in all areas and on the ASD pathway, speech and language which said she needs adult help to understand what’s going on around her and interpret her communication (she’s not non verbal but very limited words), obviously the early support statement, the HV Soggs assessment which shows the delays go back to a very young age (15 months), physiotherpy gave us gaits so I’ve included that I use those daily still to build leg strength, and an audiology assessment which states they need to retest her as they’re not sure if she has mild hearing loss or not. I also wrote about 15 pages describing our day to day life and the extra care she needs. So hopefully it’s enough🙃. My son is 4 and neurotypical and the care difference is huge and it is huge if I compared 2 and a half year old him to my daughter! So I know she has significant extra care needs but it’s just obviously down to them x

Through my work, I’ve personally known of cases where a claimant’s telephone and social media activity, including contacting DLA multiple times a day, was considered inconsistent with the level of support needs described on the claim form. In some of those cases, the DLA claim was ultimately denied. Again, I’m not saying contacting DLA is wrong, just that it’s worth being mindful of how the overall picture could be interpreted.

I see a loads of people live on tiktok for HOURS when their child supposedly needs full time care. They shouldn't be on their all day with a child with no extra needs let alone one they are claiming extra money for because they have extra needs. If you know what I mean

I get what you’re saying but don’t see how a claim could ever be declined on that alone. The fact someone is able to make a phone call , surely could never be used as evidence regarding a claim. Children sleep, children go nursery/school, people have help etc. I can’t ever imagine that being one of the lists of reasons a claim is denied.

doesn’t directly affect me as I haven’t rang many times only when needed regarding evidence. Just find it a bit crazy if that’s the case that it could be used X

But ringing multiple times a day is excessive and totally unnecessary. It's just not gunna look good in my opinion

Not saying it’s not unnecessary but just saying don’t see how that could be used as supporting evidence for a child’s claim that’s all.

each to their own when they ring and how often etc ringing daily or multiple tomes a day would not be for me but may feel necessary to someone else I guess.

Renewal sent off yesterday renewal date the 19th Jan send recorded got there today

Md234 · 29/09/2026 11:38

I think the lady who was on about ringing multiple times a day was because when she’s rang she’s been told different things so wants to get to the bottom of what’s actually going on with the claim which is understandable, being told different things is very confusing when your ringing for a update. I’ve rang weekly or fortnightly just to see where my claim is and an update but not daily. But hopefully will hear soon and then the wait and anxiety is over🤞🤞xx

Hopefullyitcan · 29/09/2026 11:41

The current wait is circa 10 weeks. Prior to the summer holidays it was around 5 weeks.

I think they could do with having an online tracker of when it gets registered, when it’s with a case manager and then when it’s with a decision maker or something like that! Just so people don’t get conflicting info and aren’t constantly worrying about where the claim is! I’ve never rang lol but I’d definitely be looking at an online tracker hear and there! X

Md234 · 29/09/2026 11:45

@Hopefullyitcan ahh I see yeah! My friends was 6 n abit weeks all in before summer holidays so that does make sense what you are saying! Still got a couple of weeks wait then!
@Mummyof2under4 yes I agree that would save so much anxiety aswell! And they’d get a lot less phone calls x

I disagree. I have Siri. Does it all for me I watch my son wash up and make calls at the same time. Multitasking. My husband will watch my son I’ll pop on the phone or make the beds. That’s deffo nonsense. You can be a full time carer and still manage to make phone calls. I use to care for my mum with terminal cancer until she passed but managed to make lots of calls among doing a million other things x

I saw one that had received a payment today and one whom was told a letter was posted friday and a decision made. I’m also the 22nd, I haven’t rang, I was going to whilst my daughter was in playgroup but I can’t muster the energy 🤣 x

If you don’t mind me asking, what do you ask? Do you just ask for an update on the claim? I want to ring but the thought of sitting on hold just makes me feel unwell 🤣 x

I have servere anxiety and take diazepam,/propanol and the phone calls make me shake but I've been fortunate to have lovely people (option 4 at the end) and all I've asked is for an update and they gave me it. Good luck, you've got this! Xx

I got to option 4. Then just say could i just have an update on where my form is. In a queue or with a dm, please.
I have two successful claims of high rate, waiting for my third one now with my son, which I believe would be middle rate if approved.

hi everyone 👋🏻

NC. S/D 7/8.

Can anyone help with the number to call to get to option 4? I could be pressing the wrong numbers beforehand and that’s why I’m not getting it.

As i said above my scan date is 7/8 but I’ve received my sons educational psychologist report today and think it would help as further evidence but I don’t want to send it incase a decision has been made

thank you ❤️
