My daughter is 7 and already has a diagnosis of combined ADHD. Tomorrow she has her assessment for Autism. Has anyone else's child got both? I feel so sorry for her. She ia really struggling atm.

My grandson has severe to moderate adhd, autism, sensory processing, oppositional defiant disorder. He was diagnosed in 2016 for his adhd, sp, odd and 2022 for his autism. It has not been an easy journey for his mum and dad(still isn't)....but he is now 17 and has just completed a brick laying course at college and passed! He hasn't got any gcse's but managed to complete secondary school, they had a brilliant SEND department. He has limited friends who are all like him from secondary school ...he didn't have any when he got there....he has just made 2 new friends at college.....life isn't easy and you have to adjust to what works best...we still get this wrong! But I wouldn't change him for the world and you will be the same with your daughter xx

Yes, my daughter is 9 and has full ADHD diagnosis and waiting for her Autism assessment. She’s not on Medikinet XL which seems to be helping although it was traumatic getting her used to the tablets!

Submitted claim for tribunal as turned down for MR - no engagement with form or evidence at all. Dwp was meant to respond to tribunal a month ago - still waiting.

Outonmyear · 24/09/2026 15:46

Been going through this since January. Is it going to be another six month wait for tribunal?

The tribunal should be sending you a directions notice which tells DWP to reply, but when they reply is another question. Sorry to hear they turned you down, the DLA group on Facebook is great for checking on appeal times

Hi everyone,

SD 5/08/2026
I have just called because my daughters school are not very good at sending information back if asked, so I asked if they had sent anything to the school. She laughed and said your looking at least another 2-3 months for a decision.
I waited 22 weeks for my sons 18 months ago I thought staffing had got better.
Good luck to everyone else waiting

Hufflypuff96 · 24/09/2026 16:25

From what I can see online it is taking longer and longer again. Edging back up to 12-16 weeks. It’s probably going to get back up to 20+ weeks again. It’s a shame really as they’d gotten it down to 5-7 weeks earlier in the year. And two years ago my friend waited 12 weeks.

I’m at almost 11 weeks for my son, and just submitted my daughters. I’m preparing for an answer around Feb 2027 for her

Bee1522 · 25/09/2026 06:27

Can anyone help me I’ve just woke up to a small random dla payment of £37.90. I am awaiting my sons renewal his claim is due to end on 10/10, I’m going to try and call at 9 if I get a chance but seems like such a random ammount I really can’t work out what it is. If anyone else has had similar could you please explain to me, I’m useless with all this.
