Hi sorry for all the questions past few days just know from dates being posted DLA getting close to working my scan date so anxiety through the roof. My scan date was the 20th July then I got a letter dated 10th August with a reference number and asking for birth certificate by the time I got the letter and sent it back they got it 19th August I phoned and made sure they had it and it was returned to me 1st September. Will they still go from my scan date of the 20th July or will they go from August when they got the birth certificate?

The request for birth certificates doesn’t affect the date of ur claim it still goes from either phone call if in time or scan date

ByShyDreamer · 23/09/2026 13:39

Iv just rang with scan date of the 27th July and it's still in the queue to be seen by case manger!!

Anyone done an MR outside the usual 1 month but within the 13 month deadline they give? Eventually received evidence that what I said was true in the original form so now fighting for HRC & LM. Originally award MRC only but was not, if any, medical evidence. MR was submitted to due 'ignorance of material fact' on 17th September. Early days I know but I just wondered what dates people were on for MR and if they had a situation like mine before :)

I totally agree, my child can only accsess his special needs school with me and thats for a very small amount of time so I am not able to work.
We use his money to be able to get him there (can get transport but because he is not there at usual times and he will not use them without me its not feasible)
I can not drive, its 2 bues to get there and a 10 min walk which when you have a child that takes 60 mins to even get out the door thats not an option.
So we have to take ubers which is 100 a week.
Can get a personal allowance which is about 15 pound a week but wont make a dent really.
We pay for a mentor for an hour a week which is the only thing he really enjoys thats 200 a month let alone the extra clothes he goes through from chewing them.
And obviously thats UC mucked up as well, its really stressing me out.
I would do anything to be able to have a child that dont need all this support but we are here and I love my child so this is our life right now.

Things like this just doesnt help the stress.

I’m in the same boat as you really. Dreading UC it’s going to be a nightmare. Praying his claim stays the same as it is, I will def appeal but not holding out much hope. Let me know how you get on when it eventually comes through. Fingers crossed for the both of us!

Called today and still processing, no notes or decision yet.

it’s been registered on the 7th of September with scan date 13th of July. Does that mean it won’t be seen until the September pile comes up?

No I don’t think so. I think it goes on your scan date? I’d probably ring Monday and see if any update. I seen someone on here say that there’s hadn’t been registered so they did it on the phone with them. They was told to ring back today to see if an update yet. So I think it’d be reasonable for you to ring back xx

I sincerely hope not! Obviously we’ve had the same issues with our forms not being registered.

When I called on Tuesday they told me it will go to the top of the list, and should be looked at asap due to the scan date.

So I presume yours should be the same? I cannot understand how yours still hasn’t been looked at. What is going on with them at the minute?

When I called tomorrow per their request, I’ll ask this question for you.

Babybell8 · 24/09/2026 10:58

Hi! Sent forms and they said scanned received 24th July no update yet. We are waiting to be seen for camhs and my son has extra mental health needs at the moment. Wetting the bed over drinking over worrying can’t make decisions needing so much extra support from us at he’s age. Gagging when eating thinking he’s going to have a heart attack ect it’s awful. Sent ent letter and blood test appointment , camhs referral, school nurse letter, photos of he’s sore hands, as proof hope it’s enough. We’re in Suffolk. Will it be much longer is it enough proof?

Emz73 · 24/09/2026 11:21

Definitely depends who answers the phone. I’ve just called the MR line for my MR submitted 6/7, useless and far less info than when I last called. I basically got:

Decision made? No.
With a DM? Can’t see.
In a queue? Can’t see.
Any notes? Can’t see.
Timeframe? Nope
Last status waiting a response from decision makers, what does that mean? Don’t know, can’t see.

Can you check my other child while I’m through security? Nope call the new claims line.

When I rang Monday , the man wasn’t giving much information to start with. I then asked him if could put a note to say that I have sent more evidence . He then said wait a minute let me just do more security verification and I’ll get on your case. He then could see everything. All notes added, when I’ve rang and what I’ve said etc. so they can definitely see more information, it just depends if they are willing to go through the next stage or not.

Think she was I’m not saying anything type. Went through 2 sets of security questions to even get that. The only upside is that answered pretty much straight away, did catch me off guard tho as I’d stuck it on loudspeaker on the side 🤣

The bed wetting falls under night care, is there any way you could draft a night time diary showing how many times a night or a week he does this? Depending on the age it’s like then washing sheets and giving him a bath etc. I did this for my son for this claim last year and did a food diary of what he eats when he goes through anxious periods as well as any cahms information that linked to it.

I did write in the original form we have to monitor drinking and change the bed every night we wake him in the night to go to the toilet. He sleeps with me most nights to scared to sleep alone. When he baths he says he doesn’t know if he’s soap is off so we always have to rinse him because a few times we tried to let him be independent he gets out with soap on and it burns he’s skin! We sent photos of that to. He over wipes he’s bum till it bleeds never knows if he doesn’t need to wipe anymore. He needs constant reassurance. When out we have to hold hands because he will just run in the road. He gets very upset about being asked to make decisions on little things. My heart aches what’s going through he’s little head :(. He’s under ent for breathing of a night to wakes up blocked coughing can’t breath through he’s nose makes him sick. We was told our scan date was 24th July for the form we sent in I called today and they just said no update. Didn’t mention about ques or anything I literally just get told no update it’s 9 weeks tomorrow. 😩🫶🏻

Oh bless him, it’s horrible isn’t it my sons so similar and I wish I could read his mind but he can’t tell me what’s going on. This is what DLA is for, sounds like you have explained so much and good idea for photos didn’t even think of that!

when I applied for my son it took 4 weeks and with my daughter now I’m around 11 weeks I think. So there seems to be such a backlog but hopefully you hear soon as I’ve seen dates like yours on Facebook x

Md234 · 24/09/2026 12:13

I received a text to say they had my claim and I’ve rang twice and they’ve said the scan date is the 28th July when I received the text? I’m not sure but I’m feeling I still have a bit of time to wait yet it seems quite busy again. X

Thank you. I was so detailed I even sent another 2 cover letters of other things I forgot to write down under pressure of filling it out they have been scanned in to. I’m so sorry your child is going through the same but also it’s reassuring to hear my son isn’t the only one if that makes sense. Such a awful scary thing for them to go through at such a young age. We’re trying to get the best help we can we had. Call from camhs the other day spoke bout everything he’s going through and now waiting for a initial assessment. I really really hope it’s a phase and he will grown out of it. I wish when you call they could have like a que number or something! We could do with the extra support money for the littlest things like waterproof sheets, sick bowls, nose sprays, sensitive soap and moisturiser ect. Those are just off the top of my head. Everything is so expensive now to. Photos we printed but made sure no face was in them or private areas Ofcourse. As he over washes he’s hands and they are cracked bleeding and sore we sent that and the burns from the soap on hes back and belly from not rinsing himself in a bath or shower which we now have to do. I hope
you hear soon to xx

Babybell8 · 24/09/2026 12:46

I asked about ques and if my claim is with a decision maker then said today. Due to a system update they can’t see anything anymore just that no decision has been made and that’s it. 9 weeks 😩 pulling my hair out. And I mean quite literally through the stress of it all

this is the hardest bit and having support will be so helpful, I have cupboard full of waterproof stuff now so just having the support helps us as parents in many ways.

Oh bless him!! I hope his initial assessment goes well and they can give you and him the support you all need!

So stressful! People are saying they heard 6-8 weeks. On Facebook I was looking and start of July have decisions say it took 8 weeks?
