Thank you ☺️
No they 100% don’t! I was advised to apply by others because I’m so used to his care needs that it’s just normal now! But my friend who’s a community children’s health care said he has far more care than any other 4/5 year old. I sent in a letter from her, reports from his consultant appointments showing his breathing getting worse, his wrap around did a letter stating they’ve had to administer his inhalers to keep him in setting but a lot of the time, had to phone me to come and get him. His attendance report from nursery school which was 76%. His letter stating he’s now been given open access to the children’s ward so he can just go straight to a bed if he’s starting to decline. 8 hospital discharge notes for admissions in the last 12 months all 4-5 days long 🙈 so you can imagine what I have to do at home before he gets to these points anyway because I want to obviously try and keep him out of the hospital 😩
One good thing is that he’s now started reception so I’ll be able to send his IHP for the MR once it’s done. The school nurse is just waiting for the specialist asthma nurse to say when she can attend a meeting with school and then it can be made and printed xx

I completely understand as my youngest has had breathing issues since he was born. Touch wood, at 7yo he hasn't had a hospital admission for around a year now. But since birth he was in hospital 4-8 times per year, similar to your little one and always on HDU etc. I also have severe asthma, been in ICU several times and know the impact it has on my life. I am on biologic therapy. Some weeks I can go on massive hikes which I love doing but other weeks I can't make it up the stairs or stand to cook without bringing on a major asthma attack and need my mum to help me with kids etc.

I get very frustrated at how misunderstood my illness is and it's even more frustrating when it's your child.

I think fluctuating conditions are so much harder to prove and explain ...but they should be counted! as when your child is bad with asthma it's round the clock. With mine if he gets poorly I am up in the night with him constantly desperately attempting to keep him at home instead of having to go to hospital etc.

I hope your MR is successful xx

I’m the same . I’m on biologics also, it took a few different swapping and changing but 8 months no ICU and only one admission in 8 months. They really can be life changing .

its so frustrating that asthma is misunderstood by a lot of people who don’t go through it daily or see the impact on their child etc

Scan date: 29th July (will be 8 weeks on Wednesday)

Phoned this morning at 9am on the dot and got through straight away (on option 4).

I had sent more evidence on Tuesday (1st class signed for) and they confirmed it had been received and added to the claim.

The lady on the phone was lovely and said (without me asking) that my claim was all processed and just waiting for a decision maker.

Hopefully not too much longer, but it does seem that the wait time has increased a bit recently.

Fingers crossed for everyone. The wait is awful isn't it?

Mine was the 16th June but its a renewal.
The claim does not end until the end of October so they will leave it until the last min.
I just hate the waiting, hope you all hear very soon.

My scan date was the 20th July but then I had to send birth certificate which didn't get scanned on to records until the 19th August so I'm probably in for a bit of a wait. It's absolutely killing me!!! Lol x

My DM took weeks as he needed to speak to me which was delayed and then I sent further evidence in. Once the evidence was sent it was still over a week for him to decide
