coc SD - 16th July

hey everyone,
is there anyone here who’s been done around this date? How long did your coc take?
my daughter was formally diagnosed with Autism yesterday morning, she’s only 4. Ehcp sent and she has a specialist school placement starting next week. Non verbal ect. Should I call them and let them know we have diagnosis or wait for report to come and just send it 🤔 On middle rate care atm but she’s cognitively at 11 months of age so we are gonna fight it and get what she really deserves hopefully.

Hey!

Going off the Facebook page and what many people say HRC has to include nighttime needs and this needs to be evidence professionally. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys and hope you get the outcome you all deserve!! Xx

I had my decline through the post today 😩😅
I’ve rang and requested the statement of reasoning to be sent out since I only have the generic reasoning of not requiring an hours care or intermittent help with a bodily function…..my sons oxygen can drop to 85% at the drop of hat, I’m pretty sure breathing is one of our most valuable bodily functions 😂
good luck everyone 🫶🏼

Congratulations to the OP but I'm sorry you were declined hopefully if you go for an MR you will be awarded good luck 🤞 xxx

Is anybody getting incredibly frustrated with the wait 😩 it’s consuming my days, just reaching 9 weeks. How does everyone else deal with the anxiety?

I am and I'm tired of checking every minute of the day but I can't seem to stop, I'm overthinking everything I have written and supplied and it's incredibly frustrating seeing SD after your own being done 😫

I feel this too!! The dates don’t seem to be moving on, I understand they are busy but I can’t understand why there isn’t a tracking service that we can use

I agree, it would stop majority of calls if there was an online tracker. When I sent my forms most people were waiting 5-7 weeks and now it seems to have moved up by 2-3 weeks😫

Yeah I have heard someone people send nothing and get awarded but lots of people don't and the MODs on Facebook said to have professional evidence to back it up. I think in entirely depends on whose DM desk it lands on - My friend sent quite a bit for nighttime care needs and didn't get HRC. I find it odd how it does for some and not others xx

What’s ur scan date? Mine was 16/07 I’m getting very anxious and have a feeling my son will be declined, I find some quite rude when I call. I’m not phoning anymore because it makes my anxiety worse, what will be will be I suppose. I hope you hear back soon with good news x

Yeah since I’ve put her in a bed from a cot her night time needs have obviously increased. Still in nappies and requires supervision and often still awake past 1am. She’s been on MRC since the age of 2. Also in a mobility pushchair for safety outside as recommended by her specialist centre so going for HRM aswell down the SMI route. So we will see what happens. The wait is awful as always. Hope that everyone gets the rates that they deserve 😊

For me the longer I wait the more I convince myself it’s a decline. I’m at 9 weeks, 10 on Monday. When I call they say the same thing

Rachael93 · 17/09/2026 19:15

MR date 27th July.
Been with DM for four dates still no outcome, rung today to see if they was waiting for professionals to respond they said the haven't requested anything and not waiting for a response so don't know why taking so long to decide.

I waited 11 weeks and was awarded - they are taking a bit longer fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Maybe they had annual leave or been off sick. Fingers crossed won’t be much longer

Yes seen quite a few late June/ early July being sorted today so thinking I might have a few weeks to go yet. Knowing my luck the day I stop worrying about it will the day the decision is made!

Yes I’ve become like this since Monday, I don’t even know what’s changed. I hit 9 weeks and just lost the plot, it doesn’t help seeing SD after mine get an answer. I think it might just be anxiety it’s a decline, I cannot stop thinking about it though. I’m being ridiculous.

I’m exactly the same. It’s infuriating especially with no updates. I’ve drove myself mad this week constantly looking to try and get peace of mind. I am coming up to 9 weeks now so I’m hoping it’s looked at soon

That is awful, honestly I don't think breathing issues get enough recognition at all or are understood well XX hope you can do an MR and get what your little one should get xx

Thank you ☺️
No they 100% don’t! I was advised to apply by others because I’m so used to his care needs that it’s just normal now! But my friend who’s a community children’s health care said he has far more care than any other 4/5 year old. I sent in a letter from her, reports from his consultant appointments showing his breathing getting worse, his wrap around did a letter stating they’ve had to administer his inhalers to keep him in setting but a lot of the time, had to phone me to come and get him. His attendance report from nursery school which was 76%. His letter stating he’s now been given open access to the children’s ward so he can just go straight to a bed if he’s starting to decline. 8 hospital discharge notes for admissions in the last 12 months all 4-5 days long 🙈 so you can imagine what I have to do at home before he gets to these points anyway because I want to obviously try and keep him out of the hospital 😩
One good thing is that he’s now started reception so I’ll be able to send his IHP for the MR once it’s done. The school nurse is just waiting for the specialist asthma nurse to say when she can attend a meeting with school and then it can be made and printed xx

Ridiculous, I’m sorry. I’d do a MR immediately.

Thank you, I am going 🥺 x
