Hi all I made a new claim for my dc it was received on the 9th of November the decision maker phoned me today asking why the form was 2 days late and that he is making a decision today! He said I will get a letter in next 14 days I’m struggling to work out if good or bad sign!

LovingLanz5 · 22/01/2022 10:45

@miracle081216
Most definitely call up on Monday asking if a decision has been made. So insensitive of him not telling you as he would know. Fingers crossed for you. Hopefully you'll get a text later in the day. Xx

miracle081216 · 22/01/2022 11:44

@LovingLanz5 thank you yeah I couldn’t gauge his tone at all he seemed nice but you never know! I just find it so strange that given they are so busy and have a backlog of claims why call up just to ask about the form being late you know what it’s like you over think everything they say 😬 how are you? Xx

LovingLanz5 · 22/01/2022 12:20

Yes you definitely do. When I was waiting my anxiety went through the roof. I finally got the text 21st December and the backdate went in the 24th December. My form was received 14th Oct. My daughter is 1 and has been awarded HRC.

miracle081216 · 22/01/2022 12:31

@LovingLanz5 congratulations on your award but I’m sorry to hear at such a young age she needs that sending you a hug! Well you were right I got the text she’s awarded!! 🎉🎉 don’t know the rate but just so happy because it’s been a long time coming she’s had it declined before and MR declined too so she has been waiting about 3 years in reality! Xx

@miracle081216
My daughter got ill at 10 months old spent 5 weeks in hospital it was an awful time absolutely awful finally diagnosed with a serious Autoimmune disease Systemic Jia. She is on alot of meds a day including a daily injection which we have to give(boy can she fight) but she is improving slowly although this weather is wreaking havoc on her joints.
So glad you got the text Congratulations. Its a long slog but your daughter has got what she deserves to help her with her condition. Call on Monday they will tell you the rate. Xx

LovingLanz5 · 24/01/2022 16:20

@miracle081216
That's brilliant news.. at least that not knowing feeling can go now. Shouldn't be long till the backdated amount hits your bank. Xx

miracle081216 · 24/01/2022 16:41

@LovingLanz5 thank you 🙏 he said it will be on a Tuesday I’m wondering if it will be this Tuesday or next! Hope you’re ok xx

kirstylala · 28/01/2022 09:22

A few questions!
My daughter was awarded middle care rate and LRM for her epilepsy in Dec. I claimed carers (waiting for this). UC paid only one month for the disability element but no carers element.

  1. Is the disability and carers element meant to be back paid?
  2. How long did carers take for you?
Adamd12 · 17/02/2022 20:37

Been waiting 18 weeks for a change of circumstances decision, been told should of got a decision at 17.5 weeks but they haven’t looked at it yet 🙄

miracle081216 · 17/02/2022 21:26

@kirstylala yes it’s back dated but when you do change of circumstances on UC you have to put in the date your child was awarded and then it goes to a decision maker you have to write on your journal you couldn’t tell them of the award until DLA told you then they accept it under special circumstances you have to fight a bit I’ve just been through this they were a pain in the butt just keep writing on the journal
