Parkle2 · 04/01/2022 09:39

Currently on 11 weeks of waiting for new claim to be processed.. anyone else still waiting this long?

Littlely8384 · 04/01/2022 10:49

@Adamd12 Friday will be 18 weeks for me waiting for a reconsideration/change of circumstance decision. They told me 2 weeks ago that it was 16weeks until a case worker even looks at them. ☹️

Adamd12 · 04/01/2022 12:05

Wowsers, 18 weeks really? With the Christmas break I can see ours being 20 weeks minimum 😔

Good evening!

How I'd everyone? Any updates?

kirstylala · 06/01/2022 13:27

Hi! My daughter was awarded middle care rate/low MR

Just wondering whether the disabilities element on UC will be backdated? Waiting to hear back from them.

Jneill2021 · 06/01/2022 14:57

@kirstylala yes they backdate just make sure u tell them the date that your little 1 was awarded from x

PuddlePip · 06/01/2022 16:40

Is anyone waiting to hear back for a change of circumstances? Is the waiting times different to new applicants?

Adamd12 · 06/01/2022 16:59

Hi yes change of circumstances is 16 weeks minimum unfortunately

PuddlePip · 06/01/2022 19:35

How annoying, I didn't realise when I started reading on here there was a difference. My letter said 11 weeks on it but when I have phoned they do say its a 16 week wait but we've waited 10 weeks so far, what's another 6 lol

LovingLanz5 · 06/01/2022 19:50

It's a very long time to wait. Waiting to hear from DLA is a nightmare and a stress no one needs

@DeludedWench Hiya, how are you? Yes we are all OK over this end. Just waiting to hear from Carers, they said they just need to check with income S to make sure backpay is correct. Also Waiting for Birmingham Blue Badge team to get back to me with positive news. It would be brilliant if my daughter is awarded a blue badge, help out with hospital parking big time.

Littlely8384 · 06/01/2022 21:22

@Adamd12 Still nothing but will keep you posted. 18 weeks mark reached tomorrow.

DeludedWench · 06/01/2022 22:03

@LovingLanz5 that's good! We are good here, also waiting to hear from Carers Allowance, when did you apply?

Luckily I've already got our son a Blue Badge, they are amazing! He got fitted for his wheelchair on Tuesday, it's so small! But we are going to do it up get spoke guard stickers and light up wheels.

Also got into the Motability scheme today, got a '22 plate Kia Xceed, will be ready in March. So nice to have so much lifted.

LovingLanz5 · 06/01/2022 22:40

Ooh that brilliant re the wheel chair, lights and stickers are a fab idea.. Great stuff getting on to the mobility scheme. Fo the take it from the mobility element or the whole dla? Didn't take long for the car, that's great.
I applied for carers the day I got the qualifying text 21st December. The said I should hear about back date by 17th Jan

DeludedWench · 07/01/2022 08:10

@LovingLanz5 yeah, you can get on the motability scheme if you get high rate mobility. They take your mobility automatically. It covers everything for a brand new car, you just have to worry about petrol.

I hope CA get back to you soon, I applied on the 27th of Dec. So a little later than you.

Angelgirl93 · 09/01/2022 20:03

Hi everyone!

The decision came within 10 weeks for suspected ASD just before christmas for my 2.7 year old. Was awarded the higher care component no mobility due to age.

I applied for the UC to be backdated and recieved a decision from UC within 2 weeks with the backdated pay which got paid the same week however they seem to have underpaid me. I recieve the highest rate of the disability element £402 then the carers allowance which is around £136 and they have back paid me £608.37.
It seems maybe they have based it off the lower amount by mistake.

Has anybody else had this happen?

Jneill2021 · 09/01/2022 20:55

@Angelgirl93 yes they did this to me leave them a message saying they have only paid you based on the normal rate not the high rate x

Jneill2021 · 09/01/2022 20:56

they should sort it and pay you the outstanding amount xx

Angelgirl93 · 09/01/2022 22:08

@Jneill2021

Thank you for replying ....Will it have to go to the DM again ?

I read that the UC backpay will pay a big chunk of the CA that they take, do you know if this is true.

Not sure how this all works and just don't want to have loads taken each month as I've legit applied for CA all the UC elements and both backpays xx

Jneill2021 · 10/01/2022 11:38

@Angelgirl93 i do no that the careers backpay has to be paid back through uc im not really sure how it works as i already claimed careers before transferring to uc @Alk19 might be avle to give you more info xx

Jneill2021 · 10/01/2022 11:39

update to any one waiting for mr i called today to see if any update on mr for mobility it was recieved 22nd dec yhe lovely lady said i should have a answer next week xx

Alk19 · 10/01/2022 11:40

@Angelgirl93 my carers was backdated before my uc elements they take so much a mo th from my UC award when my UC backdate was awarded I got the full amount they didn’t take anything off it x
