@Blabbermouth93 hopefully you'll get a decision tomorrow they are taking a while lately well some claims I've seen some are dealt with quick xx

Blabbermouth93 · 23/11/2021 18:21

@Jneill2021 same to you did you phone back today x

Jneill2021 · 23/11/2021 18:54

@Blabbermouth93 no didn't bother gonna give them till Friday coz that's basically 9 weeks so fingers crossed xx

Lozca93 · 23/11/2021 20:27

I sent the 2 hospital letters one was diagnosis letter and the other was next steps for one of the diagnosis. Really annoyed as I now need to wait another 8 weeks to hear back, I have to care for her alot more than a normal healthy child her age aswell 😭

Blabbermouth93 · 23/11/2021 21:04

@Lozca93 how old is she ? My daughter is two I’m absolutely dreading it honestly going to phone back tomorrow I know how you feel that’s what is bothering me having to wait another 8 weeks if I need to do the MR it’s ridiculous x

Lozca93 · 23/11/2021 21:42

My daughter's 2 aswell with severe eczema and allergies. Constantly has to be watched and her sleeping is horrendous because of the scratching. Flares up constantly and even worse when heating is on in winter and in the summer.

DeludedWench · 24/11/2021 10:32

@Lozca93 I'm sorry to read you are having to now go through the MR stage. If you're able, maybe try and get a medical professional to write you a letter that puts into detail what is expected of you to keep your daughter and her condition comfortable.

I hope you get a better outcome next time. X

DeludedWench · 24/11/2021 10:41

I tried to apply when our son was about 18months old and was told he didn't need any more care than another child his age. He had been using a wheelchair since around then, but obviously that part isn't considered until 3 years old if there is absolutely no mobility.

He needed more care, in my eyes, also. With medications, hospital visits, procedures and night time care from procedures. DLA can be cruel with their decisions.

But he is 3 years old now, being fit for his permanent wheelchair mid December and has more care needs, but I still feel they're going to deny his application.

Loladiego38 · 24/11/2021 11:03

Hi guys
Just rang up
They received it sept 14th
Awarded yesterday middle rate no mobility till 2024

I'm happy obvs !

but she's three in a couple of weeks
So want to apply for mobility component as she's completely non verbal autistic
So massive flight risk and has 0 awareness of danger road or people
We rarely go out as she's so temperamental

I don't want to rock the boat though ?

Any thoughts guys ? Xx

Jneill2021 · 24/11/2021 14:17

@Loladiego38 amazing news if you feel like it should be more no harm in doing a Mr I wish I did with my daughter at the time xx

Imitatingdory · 24/11/2021 14:56

Loladiego At 3 you can only get HRM, LRM is not available until 5. With autism there are 2 ways you could potentially qualify for HRM - under the 'virtually unable to walk' criteria and the 'SMI' rules. For the latter you also need to be in receipt of HRC. This booklet explains it well.

Loladiego38 · 24/11/2021 15:10

@Imitatingdory
Thankyou that makes sense xx

Listenkid · 24/11/2021 15:10

Hi ya, yesterday a lady from dla called me and said that my ds was awarded middle rate dla in error and he should of been awarded high rate, she is sending me a new award letter dating back to when I 1st claimed dla so October 2020. I recieve uc and recieve the low to medium disability element, does anyone know if uc would backdate any payment as I should of received the high rate which I will be able to show when the new award letter arrives along with the letter explaining their mistake?

Imitatingdory · 24/11/2021 15:13

Listenkid yes, the difference between the disabled child element and the severely disabled child element should be backdated.

Loladiego38 · 24/11/2021 15:14

Lastly everyone
How long after finding out or receiving a text did the letter arrive ? Xx

Blabbermouth93 · 24/11/2021 15:18

Loladiego38 · 24/11/2021 15:39

Emotionallyexhausted · 24/11/2021 15:55

I'm about to apply for mobility for my child and also hoping to be moved up to high rate care from middle rate care as night time.care needs have increased we are now looking at night time oxygen 😭 but the form is hard going! I really want it posted off by Christmas so it's not.hanging over me but so hard to find the time and motivation. I can only do it from 10pm.at night and I'm so tired!

Loladiego38 · 24/11/2021 17:28

@Emotionallyexhausted
You have 6 weeks to fill in the form if you rang up for it

It will get backdated to the day you rang x

Isn't that for first applications? When we first did it a few years ago the form was date stamped but this one isn't? I thought you had unlimited time its already been a month I'm not going to finish it in 2 weeks

Loladiego38 · 24/11/2021 17:58

@Emotionallyexhausted
Ahhh I see
Yeah apologies I only know for first time

Good luck with it
The relief will be worth it xx

Jneill2021 · 24/11/2021 18:25

Blabbermouth93 · 24/11/2021 22:46

@Jneill2021 yes still no result will phone again in the morning apologies has been a long day with the kids today one is currently having night terrors trying to settle him down so tired tonight ☹️ Waiting on a emergency dietitian as he won’t eat and hasn’t in over two weeks two slices of toast every couple days and won’t drink or pee my god life can be so hard lol vomiting even trying to chew now 😑☹️ X

Blabbermouth93 · 24/11/2021 22:49

I honestly wish we could send in recordings of our children so they can see what we are dealing with it’s absolutely soul destroying watching them practically self harm 😭 anyone got any advice for picca two of my boys being assessed for autism and adhd but they keep licking and chewing everything ones 4 ones 8 x

Jneill2021 · 25/11/2021 08:08

@Blabbermouth93 there taking so long with certain claims and yet others seem to be getting sorted pretty quick when dis they recieve your forms ?, I wish they could see how hard it is for our children and how distressing it is for them then they might understand there actuall care needs, my boys hasn't been said his got pica but every health care professional I've spoke to have suggested toys he can chew on as he is exactly the same everything apart from food goes in his mouth he even pulls his hair out and try to eat it due to his sensory processing, it hasn't really worked for him as he just pushes the toy to the side to buts its worth a try xx
