New thread for 2026 for regulars, returners and new starters.

Let's see how the changes to SW go.

Good luck everyone!

Good morning everyone. I’m new to this thread but I’m a long time SW target member and would like to join you all.

TeaRose29 · 02/01/2026 11:26

Same as me, @fishfingerbutty !

Well, here’s a thing. I went to rejoin at a new group on Monday evening. Really lovely consultant, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I was able to keep my history. Got on the scales….and was exactly the same weight as at my last weigh-in four years ago! So it was recorded as “SS” and gave everyone a good laugh 😊.

I’m still 8 pounds over target weight though, and I want to get back asap. Had a perfect day yesterday with only 12 syns swips used. I’ve done my shopping, got my new book, got my head in place and I’m doing Dry January, so I’m all set!

fishfingerbutty · 02/01/2026 11:33

I weighed in this morning and was expecting a queue of new members and returners, as is usual in the New Year, but there was only two others there.
I’ve seen the weekly queues become much shorter during recent months, and I guess it’s due to people turning to weight loss injections to get the results they want?

MiddleAgedButterfly · 02/01/2026 11:37

I’m an online member, joined at the end of November. I love the changes with the Healthy Extras etc!

surely though the injections should be done in part with a new eating regime, otherwise when the injections stops the weight will creep up again?

fishfingerbutty · 02/01/2026 12:06

Plenty of people are still eating junk foods but just less of them.
The ones I know anyway.

Anotherdayattheforum · 02/01/2026 13:02

Reached Target Christmas Eve, then managed to put 2lbs on. Not like that at all. Here and attending group each week to remain focussed.

Best wishes all for a successful experience in 2026.

FishPie2 · 02/01/2026 13:11

I am going back tomorrow after almost 3 years but I won't be SS as I have gained 1st since then and did wonder if the numbers would be the same. A couple of weeks ago I saw 2 ladies who used to be in the same SW group and they have lost loads of weight so I said I wished I had been able to stay (I left as I couldn't get a carer on a Saturday morning) and they said - it's not SW we are on the jabs and went on about them but both said they couldn't really afford them (almost £300 a month) but daren't stop them as they will put it all back on.
Wonder if the free join all Jan in my group is to encourage people to return instead of the jabs and what all this Swips and changes are about.

Tiredgremlin · 02/01/2026 19:38

I have been doing SW since Nov ‘24 and lost 4st12lbs. Had a break from tracking over Xmas - will see how it went on Monday at weigh in - I’m reckoning 5-6lbs on. Just finishing up the treats about the house and then will be back on plan. Meal planning and food shopping all done today - two lots of soup to cook tomorrow for lunches and snacks.

Just need to decide my final goal now…. The recommended 10st for my height doesn’t seem realistic - and I genuinely think I’d look awful weighing that! But I’m also not sure what I want to weigh as it’s been so long since I was happy with myself I don’t remember what weight that was!

OrianaBanana · 02/01/2026 20:29

Hi Everyone, I’ve been going since around 2015… I weigh more than ever now and have high cholesterol and drink too much…
anyway, I’m on plan now, I only put on a half pound over Xmas, and I’m doing dry January. As a peri-menopausal woman I love the new healthy fats allowance!

Manename · 02/01/2026 22:06

ive been on another thread but never got my act together to sign up. I’m looking at SW as there are local F2F groups, though not very easy for me to access so would like to try online only first.

what it’s like online if anyone just does that? Is there support from SW/other members? . At one point I was on WW but the support online was rubbish and the app didn’t work so I gave up. I need help with keeping motivated and tips around comfort eating. Is that covered online? Thanks.

Sohelpmegod25 · 02/01/2026 22:09

I’ve not been over Christmas and new year I’m back next Wednesday
theres usually loads of new members straight after Christmas but it usually dies down a bit.

Hippywannabe · 02/01/2026 22:23

Got on the scales twice this morning and 2nd time said 1/2 lb loss. Have eaten a million swips since then as was pretty good over Xmas.
Going to have a few really on track days now as normal weigh ins start again. 1 1/2 lbs would get me my 2 stones award!

ListenLinda · 02/01/2026 22:41

Checking in - weigh in tomorrow….

Crumbleontop · 03/01/2026 10:38

I’m going to join you ladies, first group is next Thursday. I’m 10 weeks postpartum, breastfeeding and the heaviest I’ve ever been. Not looking for anything dramatic but would like SW to help me eat healthily again and make positive choices. Looking forward to getting started

I didn’t find online too successful to be honest, it’s the interaction in group I find most helpful!

ListenLinda · 03/01/2026 13:55

Weighed in 1.5lbs lighter this morning, hoping for 2.5 next week then that’s the Christmas weight gain gone.

making a new recipe from the street food book tonight, philly cheesesteak sandwiches witv slimming world chips 😊
i should make that my resolution this year, to make a different recipe every week.

anyone else weighed in this weekend?

Augustone · 03/01/2026 14:47

I rejoined this morning but at a new group. 5ft 6 and starting weight of 12st 1/2lb. Hip problems so not as much exercise and Christmas means that’s 7lb on since September😳.
onwards and downwards ! Meal planning this afty and tomorrow is shopping and prep for the rest of the week back at work.

FishPie2 · 03/01/2026 19:54

I rejoined today after 2 + years and when I signed into the app it said - how do you feel to have gain 1st.1lb since your last weigh in.😥
Went back to same class but nowhere near as many as used to be there but consultant still as enthusiastic as ever, I really like her.
Just spent the last hour checking swips changes and writing them down, must get a note book tomorrow, and done some planning for this week.
I AM going to do this.

jackiesgirl · 03/01/2026 20:00

I’ve rejoined after getting to target 8 years ago, gradually regaining it all then having a baby meaning I’m bigger than I was when I started! I’m doing it online this time though, can’t be doing with groups again. Has anyone tried the recipe boxes?

ChocolateTea · 03/01/2026 20:04

I’m here 🖐️

I lost 2.5 stone last year, slowly, and then had an awful November/December with work and things and put a stone back on. I’m back on the wagon, determined to lose 1.5 stone before summer so I’m 3 down in total. I am very active with the gym and work, so struggle mostly with snacking.

on an aside, anyone else think swips is awful? Like surely they could have thought of a better anagram. One that made swaps for instance? Swips just sounds daft 😆

suki1964 · 03/01/2026 20:06

How lovely to see so many new faces - Welcome

I started in April 23, wanting to get to a size 14 for our sons wedding in October, which I did ( with shape wear I admit but from an 18 I felt wonderful ) and now Ive been target since January 24, when I called it as I just wasnt dropping any lower

I STS over Christmas which was a fluke of the scales, I weighed myself on the Monday ( weigh in is Saturdays ) and I had a gain , so today I weighed in half a pound over target

That's the kick up the arse I need - I will be back on plan on Monday. Because Im target I dont have to be as strict as those that are losing

5 days on plan should get that half pound off

This is how I roll, relaxed 90% of the time - making the healthy choices but not worrying about food, because this long on Plan I automatically know what I can and cant eat - white bread is a no no for instance

@Manename , only you know how online only will work for you. If it's just the tools you need then go for it. I need the actual full on support from the group. We have become friends, some more then others, we help each other, not just for weight loss, but for what's happening in our lives. We go to being celebrations of each other, have nights out, a circle of friends who KNOW exactly without needing to be told

I liked the recipe boxes, it was difficult with the family though as they didn’t always like all the speed etc included, and I refuse to make different meals for us all! Expensive but very convenient and easy to cancel too which I liked. I have them every now and again.

NeverAloneNeverAgain · 04/01/2026 09:03

I rejoined yesterday. I've done well with SW before but I comfort ate some health issues and surgery. Weighed in at a very disappointing 18st 3lbs 🫣 not dwelling on the number and at least I can get into a new st bracket fairly quickly! Have set target for 13st (I'm 6ft) but just taking it 1st at a time 🤞

I've not mentioned to anyone I've rejoined. Wonder how long it takes for DH to notice 🤣

MirandaWallis · 04/01/2026 17:00

Hi. I'm in too. Weighed in yesterday at SW, put 5lb on. Back on plan today. Have to lose 3lb this week to get back in target. Having a break from drinking so hope that'll help. Onwards and upwards 🙌
