I use the slimming eats website a lot which has some lovely recipes in although a pain to work out swips sometimes.

Has anyone used the model my diet app? It's free and you put in your start weight and update with current weight as you go. It brings up a side by side of where you were to where you are.

FishPie2 · 17/01/2026 20:20

I quite agree about Slimming Eats. I have used it for years because her food is nice and easy to make but since SW stopped her using the syn count in her recipes I think she tends to make them more family friendly not so much SW.
I use Nutracheck because I used to Cal Count and won a years subscription to the app.

Some great losses ladies, be proud

I didnt weigh in this week - first no show for over a year - but I was tired and thought sod it, sleep is needed more . However I jumped on my own scales and 1lb off which would have shown as a STS in group, so happy with that

The longer Im doing SW, the more I move away from SW , if that makes sense?

I mean I know the principles, the rules, so I just adapt recipes . Newest cook book to me is Quick Wins - a Deliciously Ella book. All plant based, all very simple quick dishes , with weekly meal plans and shopping lists. Im not a veggie, Im not even a lover of veg, but am aware I need to eat more of them and also add more fibre so there's a few recipes in there that Im going to go with to start

I think everyone in my group have tried the pancakes and love them . They arent for me, I wouldn't have been a pancake eater. Im interested in the naan , apparently they are tiny, but Im interested for the convenience . Now wholemeal flour is free, making a flat bread with that and yoghurt is easy enough

Hi, I’d like to join you all. I rejoined SW after 10 years of trying to do it by myself. I liked the sound of the new plan so rejoined this week. Trying to get my head back into it is harder than I thought but I’m going to do a proper food shop today & get properly into it. I love the sound of the crumpets from M&S so I’ll be picking those up. Can I ask what people put on them other than butter & jam which is what I would use. Starting weight is 11.7 & my goal weight is 10 stone which I’m hoping to reach by mid June. Good luck everyone.

Happy Birthday @NeverAloneNeverAgain 🥳

One lady at group has avocado and a poached egg on her crumpet for breakfast which I like the sound of.
My starting weight a couple of weeks ago was 11 stone 1.5 and I am also aiming for 10st.

Crazybooklady · 18/01/2026 14:23

avacado and egg sounds lovely. The healthy fats option is going to be a game changer!

MirandaWallis · 18/01/2026 17:35

Hi. I weighed in yesterday and lost 2.5lb so a total of 5lb since new year (which is what I'd put on over xmas). Was out of target on the first weigh in after new year so I'm glad to be back within the range. Loving the new addition of nuts and avocado in the new plan. My plan is to try keep going weekly to class rather than once every month. Keeps me in check. Keep going ladies.

Mash88 · 18/01/2026 18:13

Well done on the losses.

The crumpet with avocado & egg sounds amazing, must keep an out for them in M&S.

Weighed in yesterday with a 2.5 lb loss, over the moon. Feeling good and on it this week, swimming under my belt for today and planing lunches & dinners as we speak. Also bought the countdown so am excited to get the recipe book next week.

buttonsdude · 19/01/2026 17:24

Second weigh in and have stuck to plan 100% all week. I've tracked everything on the app - and I've stayed the same 😭 so disheartening! I'm wondering if these new changes with the healthy extras are having an impact. I never used to use them all but now I am and when you think that's a fair few extra calories over the week. So I'll just keep on keeping on and seeing what happens next week 🤷

Dextersgoneovertherainbowbridge · 19/01/2026 18:40

@buttonsdude if you didn’t used to have them all, why are you having them all now? But at least you haven’t gained, which given you’re now eating something you didn’t used to, is brilliant

Exactly the same as me. I have been through everything since my weigh in on Sat even adding up the cals which comes to 1200/1300 a day.I have 2.5 of the hex for breakfast, chia, kefir, milk and porridge and always have but swipped some of them so no different that it was before and + 8 swips.
I am carrying on with that breakfast but will cut out some of the swips during the day like Highlights and Mayo.
By the way whoever told me to drink all that water, I must have overdone it as I spent more time in the loo last night than in bed. 😆😋

buttonsdude · 19/01/2026 20:07

I never managed to have both healthy A choices as I'm not a big dairy fan, but now I can pick and choose myself I find I'm having them all everyday as well as my swips. Thinks it's going to have to be one or the other - if I have all my healthy extras I'll have to cut the swips to the minimum see how that goes

buttonsdude · 19/01/2026 20:09

@FishPie2 I've been the same with the water. At least I'm getting my steps in backwards and forwards to the loo in the night 😂

suki1964 · 19/01/2026 23:09

Im on maintenance which is basically the lose weight programme for 5 days and 2 days where I dont worry - obviously not stuffing cake into me all day

My HEA is always halved between milk and dairy lea light

I tend to take two HEB - some granola on my yoghurt and a pitta or thin at lunchtime

Healthy extra oils, Ive always used them and never counted. I cook for a family and the tiny amount I use over 4 to 6 portions - seriously not worth my while worrying about

But saying that, my weight loss was always low - most would have been 2lb in a week , usually 1/2 or 1lb

If you want the big losses you need to follow the plan 100% and have as many speed days as you can in a week.

Id rather eat well , family friendly meals and chip away slowly

radiantorange · 22/01/2026 20:51

Hello! Is it still ok to say Happy New Year this ;ate in January??

It’s been a wee while since I posted. I weighed in on Saturday morning with a 3lb loss and I’m at target!! Well, i’m 1lb under target! It’s taken 14 months but I did it. I shifted 3 stone and 1 pound. I’m going to sit here for a while. Then think I’ll adjust my target to try for another 1 stone off but there’s no rush now. I already feel so much better in myself. So however long it takes and as frustrated as you might be - keep going. It’s hard but I always say to my 2 friends ‘it’s a marathon, not a sprint’ 💛

lechatnoir · 23/01/2026 09:59

Well done @radiantorange that's brilliant really well done and it's always inspiring to hear when people finally get there.

A tricky couple of days with 2 evenings out eating and drinking. I was really hoping for a loss this week so have 4 days to pull it back in which I think is possible if I include some SP and keep my syns low. Any SP meal suggestions? I'm having a SW curry tonight & chilli tomorrow both with cauliflower rice but parents coming for sunday lunch so need to come up with something tasty for them but low/no syn for me. Maybe a casserole? lots of veg and avoid the potatoes.

buttonsdude · 23/01/2026 12:13

@lechatnoir my go to sp meal is pizza top chicken (uses one of your healthy extras choices for the cheese). I'm pretty sure the recipe is on the SW app. I roast Mediterranean type veg or roast butternut squash (whatever I have in really) to have with it and some salad. It's lush and you can really bulk it out with the speedy veg so it feels like a proper hearty meal

lechatnoir · 23/01/2026 22:08

Thanks so much @buttonsdudefound the recipe and had this for dinner with a pile of roast veg and it was gorgeous.

anyone know how SP days work now with the new swips and healthy extras? I assume it’s max 10 swips but wondering whether you still get 3 healthy extras?

Wilma55 · 24/01/2026 11:36

@lechatnoir the new books (page 95) says 3 healthy extras and max of 10 swips for SP days.

I am here again with a same weight and not very happy. I am not understanding why I haven't lost weight - everything weighed and measured, no crap like wine, cake and choc.
No big portions of carbs as I have only had cous cous twice this wek.
I wasn't at class today has I have a day booked off but have some Marsden scales that my (rich) sister bought for me which are the same as SW ones.

suki1964 · 24/01/2026 21:57

@FishPie2 , something is going amiss here . Even I as a menopausal woman would get 1/2 or a 1lb loss every week. Also as a heavy drinker, I use swips for alcohol and only eat free food

Do you feel you can do a food diary for a week ?The good old, bite it, write it. It really can show where things are going wrong for you

Im a long time member now , still go so I dont lose my way, so I just juggle the same 3lb all the time.

I will gain if I eat white bread, I cant have it in the house, Id have the loaf eaten with butter and peanut butter. Indeed Peanut butter is now a Healthy Extra - 1 tablespoon, I ate a quarter of a jar!!!! The rest is now binned

I know I cant eat a big portion of pasta or spuds , Sunday roast is just one potato cut into 2 or 3 pieces - air fried . If I make chips, hand cut, air fried and seriously for the three of us I do 3 spuds

There's a lot of free foods which I can not eat freely , I have had to cut the portion size and up the veg

Making a third ( at least ) of the plate veg, will stop you over eating on the beige carbs

What advice did your consultant offer?

NeverAloneNeverAgain · 26/01/2026 19:01

@fishpie2 don't get too disheartened perhaps it will show next week. Could it be fluid retention around time of the month? I always used to gain regardless of how good I'd been.

Im struggling with some constipation (no idea why as eating loads of fruit and veg) could it be that?

I had a holiday in for Saturday so didn't weigh.

FishPie2 · 26/01/2026 20:33

Thanks - I do write everything down so know that I didn't over eat with big portions. I don't weigh veg just have lots of it and I am doing an SP week to see if that will give it a nudge. Upped the water and flavoured tea so will see how things go.
When I went last week I showed her my diary and she said it looked fine and to watch the portion sizes and do some more walking if I could. She is really nice and will help so see what she has to say on Saturday.

MirandaWallis · 27/01/2026 07:42

Hi ladies. Just checking in. Weigh in day was Saturday and I'd lost 2.5lb. I contribute this to doing dry january as nothing else has changed foodwise. I'm at the lowest end of target range now so unless I start putting a few pounds on or wear heavier clothes to get weighed in I'll start paying again. Undecided whether to lose another half stone. Bmi is at 24 so I certainly could do if I felt inclined. I've realised the booze was holding onto my weight and not drinking has meant I've lost half a stone this january so far. I'm definitely not spending a life without wine so will have to learn to moderate from now on.
