My 3rd weigh in since Christmas and I've gained! So I lost 2.5 lb after Christmas/new year which will have been mostly water weight and honestly expected to lose more. 100% on plan the following week and stayed the same. Had a night out Saturday (food and drink) but on plan the rest of the week so found it really hard to stomach the size of the gain I had. I was fighting back the tears in group I was so gutted! Only thing different is this new way with the healthy extras I just don't think it works for me. I'm going to conduct a very scientific experiment this week 🤭 - I'm going back to the old ways with the healthy extras and I shall report back next week

Crazybooklady · 27/01/2026 11:42

I rejoined 2 weeks ago & I have lost 7lbs so far. I was very bloated when I started due to hormones & I’m also doing dry January so I don’t know how much of my loss is actually fat loss but I feel much better in my clothes so I’ll take it as a win!

Your Saturday night food and drink was probably more off plan than you think and was certainly enough to cause a gain.
The new healthy extras will make no difference as they amount to the same number of calories as previously.
Try not to be disheartened: if you stick to the plan 100%, every day, it works.

Emelene · 27/01/2026 16:39

Hi all, can I join? I’ve been a member since October, I’m postpartum with my 3rd baby and breastfeeding so I get some leeway with extra Healthy extras. I’ve lost 1stone so far (3 stone is my target). I can’t get to group this week as DH is working late but I weighed myself at the doctors surgery and have lost another 1.5 lb on their scales so that is very motivating after a maintain last week. :)

GenerousGardener · 27/01/2026 16:57

Got my 2 1/2 stone badge today. I lost two pounds. I’ve been on SW since the second week of September. I’ve stuck to it apart from two days over Christmas. Anyway, went out for a Toby today. Gave myself four small roasties, a small helping of cauliflower cheese, carrots, beans, cabbage, peas, and a spoon of mash. Topped off with gravy and apple sauce. I don’t care what the syns were , it was blooming lovely.

lechatnoir · 28/01/2026 08:34

wow well done @GenerousGardener that's amazing in that short space of time - just goes to show what you can do if you stick at it.

Welcome on board to all the newbies 👋

I stayed the same this week which is frustrating but probably a win given I totally overindulged on 2 nights out and went to my mum's for sunday roast - managed to dodge the pudding & cauliflower cheese but the rest was definitely not SW friendly.

I'm just making my plan for the week and have got a couple of unexpected days at home free so going to use some of the time cooking and try out a few recipes from the new 15 minute heroes book - has anyone tried any of these:

Speedy minced beef and lentil curry (which I'll do with cauliflower rice for SP)
Pork & Fennel Tagliatelle
chicken & butterbean stew
Hot & Sour chicken noodle soup
Kimchi fried rice (keep wondering how to use up a jar of Kimchi!)

Miso mackerel with edamame rice

Slightly annoying that the recipes all seem to have pre-chopped frozen veg or jarred ginger & garlic to make them doable in 15 minutes but TBH, even if it takes 30 minutes that's still pretty decent for a family meal.

Really trying to blitz this week and get my stone award (it's been 3 months😣 )

@lechatnoir sounds like a good plan! I wish I was as organised. Ive not tried any new recipes but I'm planning on getting the book tomorrow so let us know how you find them.

I've lived off soup this week. 3 days training in the middle of nowhere has forced some preparation. I know I do better when organised but I struggle to find the time and motivation (read would rather sit on backside and watch tv) will have to do better with it i think!

NeverAloneNeverAgain · 31/01/2026 09:05

1/2 on which i can't complain about if I look honestly about what ive eaten. I suspected a gain and considered missing today and trying to pull it back over this week but these are the habits I did before. I know if I didn't go today I just wouldn't go back and that's still a win for me. I'm going to do some meal planning this week and hopefully look forward to a loss next week.

Mash88 · 31/01/2026 10:03

Weighed in today with a pound gain, tbh it’s the time of the month so not unhappy with that. I know this week it will come off. Swimming planned this week, meal planning ant the moment and partner is working away for 2 weeks come Monday so lots of healthy veggie meals (and smaller portions).
Finally got through the 11 weeks of January. Hopefully the lighter days of Feb motivate me to change up my meals.

MirandaWallis · 31/01/2026 17:20

Stayed the same today. I'm ok with that tbh. Had a few days not really counting. Glad I still went though. I find maintaining at target more difficult than actually losing the weight, which sounds ridiculous I know. After tonight I'll be incorporating wine at least one night a week so it'll be interesting to see how much that impacts on the scales. Keep it up everyone 👏

FishPie2 · 31/01/2026 17:22

Finally a decent loss 2.5 lbs but it only takes the total to 4lbs in 4 weeks which I don't consider brilliant especially as it is my first 4 weeks back after gaining a stone over the last year.
Not going to get disheartened though and will carry on.
Those M & S 5 Grain Crumpets have saved the week. 1 Fibre choice and are brilliant toasted with thick 0% Greek Yogurt and hot berries on them, sprinkled with a 10gms of flaked almonds and a few seeds. My new favourite meal.

Wilma55 · 31/01/2026 20:41

Sounds delicious @FishPie2

I had this for breakfast this morning. It was gorgeous

Wilma55 · 03/02/2026 14:25

A pound off today making 7 pounds this year. I've been stressed so lost my appetite but its gradually improving. 1.5 over target.

2 pound off for me this week which I'm pleased with. My hubby has requested my home made steak and ale pie for Saturday so the plan is stay on plan all the time until then and keep swips to a minimum. No reason why I can't have a loss next week if I do that 🤞

Let him have the steak pie, and you have a SW friendly meal?

when you make the pie put a portion of S and K to one side. Cover his in pastry then have yours in gravy without the pastry. That way you only need to syn the gravy.

suki1964 · 04/02/2026 00:12

Im still at the top end of target - a pound leeway at the moment .

Ive had three STS and just one measly half pound loss in January

But hey ho, Im still 2 stone lighter then when I started

I think Ive a touch of SW fatigue, plus this has got to have been the coldest , wettest winter in years and without the padding, Im feeling it.

Ive had health problems, dh has, mother is in hospital, BIL is dying and its all just grinding me down

I think I need to book a break somewhere PDQ

LeftyLou · 04/02/2026 21:34

I didn't go to weigh in last week wasn't feeling too well. Lost 1.5 this week. Taking me to 12 stone 4.5. just need to keep pushing on.

The maple syrup pancakes from SW are absolutely delicious. I really want to try the naan too.

mrsmacmc · 04/02/2026 23:02

First proper week back on plan after easing gently back into the vibe and 2lb loss 💪🏻

Emelene · 05/02/2026 00:07

Weighed in this week after a “holiday” week (DH was working so no childcare and no holiday). Lost 1lb. Felt a bit gutted as I’ve worked really hard. But maybe been slipping a little. I think I have to record things and go every week or I start slacking a bit. I’ve lost 1st 1 and am 3Lb away from my Club10. So need to keep going.

Blueuggboots · 05/02/2026 05:13

I joined yesterday. Have done it frequently over the years, got to target once.

was doing really well then had a bereavement in the family and it all went wrong. I need to lose about 3 stone.

SwitchingUpWLI · 05/02/2026 12:51

fishfingerbutty · 02/01/2026 11:33

I weighed in this morning and was expecting a queue of new members and returners, as is usual in the New Year, but there was only two others there.
I’ve seen the weekly queues become much shorter during recent months, and I guess it’s due to people turning to weight loss injections to get the results they want?

Yeah I think this is most likely @fishfingerbutty I don’t know if this will helpful to anyone but am happy to share my story here. I use WLI now but still ‘identify’ as a Slimming Worlder! I don’t regret my time and the money spent on Sw over the years as I learnt so much and there are so many great recipes that will stay as family favourites forever and lovely people I’ve met in group along the way.

So I’m on WLI now after a long history as a Slimming World member and rebounder. Classic yo-yo. Cannot even count how many times I joined and rejoined SW, must be at least 15 times in 15 years. First time was the best, got to target in under a year and maintained for over 6 months then fell out of target and it crept back on. Regained most of the weight. Re-joined a year later and lost a decent amount of weight but not to target. Regained what I lost plus some. Had 2 DC and weight increased to its highest and hardest levels of obesity especially after 2nd baby. Re-joined SW each time following pregnancy/post pregnancy gains and times in between, each with diminishing returns in terms of amount of weight lost and ability to sustain the losses.

The last 2 times I rejoined SW I struggled to lose anything at all. Mostly maintained or had tiny losses that were quickly swallowed up with bobbing up and down. Fought to lose a stone. Like many of us life circumstances stepped in and we had family difficulties related to health and bereavement and I was hit with severe illness combined with peri. I couldn’t manage getting to group anymore - my friendly, supportive group with a lovely consultant (I drove 30 mins every week to get to this particularly good group). Quickly gained the stone lost and more. Very discouraged and could not lose any weight even back on vlcd shake plans I had done previously. Got depressed and finally a friend shared they had done the jabs and had great success losing when other methods hadn’t been successful. Her positive experience gave me the courage to try Mounjaro when I was skeptical / unsure about it. I have now been on it for over a year and lost over 3 stone. A modest loss for some on WLI, but for me it is miraculous as someone who battled and battled to lose even a pound before.

It has helped rebalance my system where health and hormonal changes had become a barrier to losing, even when following the plan and other diets as strictly as I could.
It is not without it’s downsides, I get occasional gastric side effects and the medication is expensive, but I feel it’s worth it to be where I am now. I have more to lose but it feels different this time, that it’s possible, within my reach and control. I’m no longer anxious about falling off plan/ off the wagon and regaining hard fought losses.

Anyone remember when mullerlight yogs were syn free and the Rocky Road Hi-fi bars? Loved them!

Wishing you all the very best with your onward journeys and here’s to a slimmer, healthier 2026 x

GenerousGardener · 05/02/2026 14:48

@SwitchingUpWLI made myself sick on syn free muller light. That was years ago when we had red and green days. Although I’m back on SW I can’t ever eat another muller light 🤢

Mash88 · 08/02/2026 09:10

Well done on the losses. Weighed in yesterday and lost 1.5lbs which I was surprised with as feeling a tad bloated.
Partner is working away so I’ve been doing all the dog walks which I think has helped.
