New thread for 2026 for regulars, returners and new starters.

Let's see how the changes to SW go.

Good luck everyone!

Because I bought a countdown last week, I got a copy of the 15 minute heroes book. I’ve had a few SW books from these offers before and although I liked a couple of bits they just didn’t fit in with my busy lifestyle. These ones look great though, and we are going to try four new recipes this week! (Chicken and flatbreads in the freezer for back up incase the fussier kids don’t like them)

ChocolateTea · 10/01/2026 17:54

Well done everyone on your losses!

LeftyLou · 10/01/2026 21:08

Got great losses this week. Well done everyone 😊

I got the book with the countdown too. I have yet to try and of the recipes but I have to say I am impressed with some of them.

Has anyone tried any of the new SW food from Iceland? I really want to try the pancakes and the naan breads.

FishPie2 · 10/01/2026 23:14

No pancakes or naan available in local Iceland, some people in group had bought them for the freezer and others said they are lovely. 1 woman had eaten a whole pack because she thought they were free.
Just 1 person said they had tried the ricotta pasta things and they were nice but it seems they are going in freezers for emergencies.

Mash88 · 11/01/2026 00:32

Well done on everybody’s losses.

Weighed in today and lost 2lbs (surprised at that as it was my work Christmas do last night - 3courses and free bar). Feels good to be back on it though.

NeverAloneNeverAgain · 11/01/2026 09:17

We're having a baking day - jam roly poly, tarts and butterfly cakes. Its the only time I'm thankful for coeliac as I can't eat any of them so thinking its a safe activity to entertain the 3yr old! Going to batch cook some meals and make a soup - what's everyone's go to??

FishPie2 · 11/01/2026 12:03

I have just made Scotch Eggs in airfryer with 5% chicken mince with no breadcrumbs on outside and they have turned out lovely. I did give them a quick rub with some Terikayi Sauce - 1.5 for both. 100gms meat on each egg.
With the rest of the mince I have made some curry flavoured meat balls which will go in the freezer.
Next is some grilled salmon and some lentil dhal and rice in the Instant Pot.
It is half price electric today so make use of it.

NeverAloneNeverAgain · 11/01/2026 17:04

@fishpie2 sounds yummy I'll have to give that a try

buttonsdude · 13/01/2026 11:16

First weigh in for me. 2lb off - was hoping for a bit more but think it's still a bit of catching up from the tail end of last week before I was fully back on plan. But 2lb is still good and if I can do that every week between now and mid March when I go away that's over a stone 😁 I'm laser focused!!

Wilma55 · 13/01/2026 14:55

4lb off for me but that's due to family bereavement, just lost my appetite. (I'm ok thanks)

I got the 15 minute heroes book so be glad to hear if anyone has tried and liked the recipes. At a quick glance I think 15 mins is pushing it a bit for some of them.

Fairly busy group though didn't stay. There were 6 at the new members talk.

Well done to the batch cookers and bakers. I'm going to try Jamie's Hearty Chicken Hotpot (modified) from last nights tv.

Another one off for me this week, taking me to 12 stone 5.5 I now have about 10 lbs to get to where I was.

Has anybody managed to get their hands on any of the new SW Iceland products? Mainly the pancakes and naan bread. I haven't been yet but I've heard some good things about them.

FishPie2 · 15/01/2026 14:05

Seem to be easier to get them now, most of my group have tried the pancakes but M & S 5 grain Crumpets seem to the new "thing". They are in a pack of 6 and are 1 for HE Fibre or 5.5 each. I have not had either as I use my Fibre for my porridge but they rave about the pancakes.

fishfingerbutty · 15/01/2026 16:13

Love crumpets but not sure if anything other than white is meddling with dark forces.
I will try them though.

lechatnoir · 16/01/2026 08:43

after a ridiculously overindulgent weekend away I’ve managed to put on the 2.5 pounds I lost the previous week 🙄. I’m working hard this week to shift it and then should be on much more of an even keel over the coming weeks.

A few people in group were raving about the pancakes and nan bread but I don’t tend to use the fibre/B choice for much except the odd slice of toast with an egg or occasional HiFi bar - much more likely to have the dairy and healthy fat choice I generally try to avoid too many bread products as they’re a bit of a slippery slope food for me.

made a gorgeous soup yesterday from Olive magazine (& the kimchi Shakshuka on the same page is also amazing! ) apologies for small upside down image. Both free if you drop the oil

Next time I’m in Iceland I’m going to look for the pancakes and Naan. I need to see the ingredients as I suspect they are full of preservatives and gums. If they are not too bad I might buy some. I try and limit the HiFi bars as they are full of ingredients im not sure about. They taste nice though!

I know you can’t avoid UPFs, but I do try and limit my intake if I can.

FishPie2 · 16/01/2026 10:20

Go to Iceland website and click on the pancakes/nan. You can then look at the ingredients and the nutritional values. They are £1.75 pack of 4.

Thanks for the Kimichi recipe, right up my street.

lechatnoir · 16/01/2026 10:21

snap @GenerousGardener that's why I usually avoid the SW tricks and dupes as they are full of dubious ingredients although I do like a hifi bar from time to time!
The pancakes actually look pretty good and the frozen meals are too as they have the recipe to replicate at home .

NeverAloneNeverAgain · 17/01/2026 12:57

2nd weigh in - 5.5lbs off. Was expecting a smaller loss or STS after last week so am very happy with that. Obviously I started at a higher weight so it's going to be slightly easier to shift at first. If I can lose 2.5lbs this week I'll be out of 17st 🤗 trying to keep that in mind as it's my birthday tomorrow 🤣

FishPie2 · 17/01/2026 13:36

I stayed the same this morning and am a bit gutted as I put the work in, planned food, thought I ate well and did some walking, not loads but about 5.000 a day.
2 HE and 9 swips each day and can't see where I went wrong.
No booze, cake or chocolate etc.
Had a rant to myself when I came out but will get on with it again this week and see what happens.

LeftyLou · 17/01/2026 14:42

@NeverAloneNeverAgain that's a great loss 😁 especially with it your birthday coming up.

@FishPie2 sorry you're disappointed. Aren't our bodies weird? Doesn't sound like you have done anything wrong. Some people at my group notice if they keep doing what they had the week before they get a decent loss. So it's like getting two weeks worth of losses in one week.

Wilma55 · 17/01/2026 15:39

Yes just stick at it @FishPie2 and it will show next week.

Did Jamie Oliver fish curry last night 5.5 swips plus HE for oil. Very tasty, and cheap!

I lost 4.5lbs this week with no exercise (injured knee) and I’ve had a few treats-all within my swip allowance so I’ve put it down to drinking gallons of water, no alcohol and having lots of speed food with meals.
Keep going everyone! 💪

Try drinking lots more water. I always have a better loss when I do.

FishPie2 · 17/01/2026 17:00

Thanks for the advice. 2 Large water bottles filled for tomorrow, I had 2 green tea instead of Highlights at SW 😀and plenty this afternoon.
Bought the Ultimate Curry book today and going to have a read tonight. I have loads of books but these are already worked out and hope there are not too many with coconut in them as I allergic to it.
