Hello all. My first weigh in this morning. I started last Saturday. Consciously made the decision to start now rather than waiting till after Christmas. Hoping to reign in the usual weight gain at that time!

I've been at target before but 8 years ago now - 2 kids, working FT since. Hopefully I'll get a good loss tomorrow too kick start.

I was 159.5 lbs and beyond losing 10% (16lbs), I haven't thought of an overall target. I'll see how I feel when I get there.

Wish me luck. I'll come back and update!

Yes let us know how you got on @Jeezypeepz .

I forgot to add my WI on Tuesday, probably because it was a maintain.

Hello! I too have been at target before but am miles off it - and I was at target some 20 odd years ago 😅

3lbs off for me this week, flipping brilliant! Although I did have 2 meals out and a pig out on a selection box, so it was only my IBS having a meltdown that saved me 😶

Might sound odd after i said that but I feel quite happily on track at the moment. I'm eating more nuts and seeds and dried fruits and olive oil than SW allows, but I'm not being stupid about it so I'm staying below on calories and the food I'm eating is satisfying me and I'm losing weight. It's also combined with eating much more speed veg and lowish carbs, not really a conscious choice, I just feel like eating nourishing foods. I'm in a nice phase, I like it.

I love that this group just ground to a halt for the whole of December 😂

I have raised my target before Christmas just by 6lbs as I think I'd set it too low - I'm now aiming for 9 st 5lbs.

So I've got about 8lbs to go. I would LOVE to do it by early March as I'm a bit sick of not getting very far! I am about 9st 13lbs at current weight so it should get me there quite a bit quicker.

Wilma55 · 28/12/2024 17:26

Hopefully @TomWambsgansSwans things will pick up in January with lots of new joiners. Should we have a 2025 thread or just continue with this one?

The first post made me smile: a cult, and doesn't help you to maintain a sensible weight!
Best wishes to everyone on here, from a target member of 22 years.
Keep to the plan: IT WORKS.

TomWambsgansSwans · 28/12/2024 21:43

@Wilma55 I think let's go for a shiny new thread to ring in the new year!

ListenLinda · 29/12/2024 13:27

@Wilma55 New thread please! I need to get back on plan!

Wilma55 · 29/12/2024 19:57

Back from 2 week cruise yesterday, put on 4lb which isn't too bad considering! Hope everyone had a good Christmas and is ready for a new SW year.

Any suggestions for new thread title??

I forgot I joined this thread! That's encouraging, right?!

I've lost 7 lbs since the 23 November. Slower, much slower, than I would have liked but it's 7 off rather than on.

I'd bought a 12 week countdown with the intention to be 29lbs down and at target by then. I think that that needs revised. Things have changed 8, nearly 9, years and two kids later!

I'll keep plodding but it's definitely harder out of the routine of work.

New thread name suggestion:

Sashaying into a svelte 2025 with Slimming World.

I'm not sure if there is a long running thread on in this topic.

Wilma55 · 31/12/2024 08:35

Thanks @Jeezypeepz will start new thread....
