Well after all that hard work this week the scales are saying I've lost a 1lb. 🙈.

I got off and stood on them a million times trying to get it to read different! But no, it's stuck on 9.11 (I'm 5'3 and 37yo). I know a lb is a lb is a lb, but I've been know to lose 5lb in the first week of slimming world. That was good few years ago though!

Oh well, it is 'star week' so I'm just going to carry on regardless. @JingleAndTonic - I'm tempted to do the same and just not weigh now until the end of the month. I'm a bit gutted I have to say. Xx

JingleAndTonic · 03/07/2020 07:46

@autumnredhead it's so disappointing when the scales don't give you the result you want isn't it, at least yours are going in the right direction! i reckon if i'm really good this month i can get a good loss by the 31st, am desperate not to spiral after two weeks of gains now

autumnredhead · 03/07/2020 07:52

Don't spiral @JingleAndTonic - carry on regardless, I could easily just sack it off now, but I refuse too! you never know it might all just catch up with us next week (or end of the month) and we have the loss we deserve!

MrsAvocet · 03/07/2020 12:28

I find that if I have been really good one week I seem to lose most weight the week after for some reason. I have had some weeks where I have expected to gain but have lost a couple of pounds. Confused
I have given up trying to predict actually, and as long as the general trend is down, that's fine. It might be worth reducing how often you weigh if its demoralising though.
The other thing I have found is that I do need to be careful on portion control with carbs. OK, plain pasta, rice, potatoes etc are free, but I think that works on the assumption that they are boring so you won't actually eat that much of them. Unfortunately I could happily eat my own body weight in plain pasta or boiled potatoes so that doesn't work for me and I do need to weigh those things. If you aren't losing as you feel you should be, it might be worth looking for any areas like that. I know that's not technically what the plan says, but I see it as a guideline rather than something that has to be followed rigidly and I think its ok to tweak things for your own needs.
Don't give up! I had a bit of a blip a while ago and found posting on the SW online community very helpful too. I got lots of encouragement which helps.

Well done @Blondeshavemorefun your hard work totally paid off xxx

Lunch at friends was amazing yesterday! Not exactly unhealthy either. Think they worst I could say is the portion was huge so whilst it’s all I can have, there was just too much of it to fit in any “allowances”
She did:
Flatbread topped with humous, rocket, red cabbage, red pepper and halloumi followed by chocolate covered strawberries. It was all my favourite stuff in one meal. It might have been too big to be on plan but it was so nutritious and tasty and I figure better to have a “blow out” on good stuff than a Big Mac!

Back on it today:

B - latte (HEA) and fruit salad
L - left over pasta from last night with cheese (HEA) then Greek yog and raspberries
D - wrap (HEB) with chicken, bacon, salad and SW chips (1 syn for pretend mayo!)
S - fruit and a cheeky bag of maltesers I brought earlier to eat whilst I binge watch a week of celeb masterchef tonight. Heaven! 😂😂😂

JingleAndTonic · 03/07/2020 14:51

@Blondeshavemorefun well done on your loss! you deserved it after being so good!

@Hartleyhare1206 think that sounds like a very healthy lunch and not that syntastic

i've been naughty and had two triangles of white toblerone today, thought they couldn't be too bad - 9 syns each!!!! nightmare. never mind, at least it's the weekend! got plenty of fruit and veg in now after the shopping has been and got ingredients for low syn cheese scones to make which will be interesting - they involve smash!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/07/2020 15:42

Thanks ladies and @Hartleyhare1206 lunch sounds yummy and healthy

Morning all. And well done @Blondeshavemorefun . A brilliant loss.

I had been planning to to get a takeaway all week to be honest. When it came to it I didn't really fancy one BUT I didn't have a chicken dipper wrap, with Nando's mayo and cheese. I handful of chocolate buttons and some crisps and dips. Not great well over syns but 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Earlier in the day was scrabbled eggs and tinned toms on 1 x 400g wholemeal. 1.5 syns lurpack: .

2 x Ryvita with salmon.
3 syns for ryvita and cheese square.
2 syns for dressing
Cucumber
Olives
Beetroot
Spring onion

100 ml for extra milk. 2 syns.

Going to be good all day but am enjoying some red wine with friend this evening. 🙈

Have a good day all....

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/07/2020 08:00

@autumnredhead you are the same as me. Have the same breakie most days. Do find toast in am fills me up - need my carbs and b

B toast b bacon eggs beans

L ham and egg salad prob pesto mayo 3

T Chinese. Prob noodles and balls

OP posts:
autumnredhead · 04/07/2020 10:32

@Blondeshavemorefun - yes I stick to the same breakfast for ease and I know it fills me up. This may change when I go back to office work..but for now it works.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/07/2020 14:10

Ditto

Or ommlette. I make in a dish and cook in oven for
15m saves burning it

Not sure how syns noodles and 3 balls are but guessing 8 for noodles and 1-2 per balls so 14?

JingleAndTonic · 04/07/2020 18:55

hi all! i've tried so hard to be good today but have now found my way into the milk tray that's been catching my eye Blush but it's the weekend and it's my only treat!

L - leftover goulash in a wrap then put in the George foreman, was so fine (HEA, HEB and 1 syn for butter)

T - mozzarella stuffed burger (HEA and 4 syns) topped with fried onions with SW chips and a few onion rings (4.5 syns)

S - 8 milk tray chocs at 2.5 syns each coming to 20 syns 😱 taking me to 29.5 syns today - fml

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/07/2020 22:43

Do syns over the week @JingleAndTonic

Or have less tom and Monday

OP posts:
MrsAvocet · 04/07/2020 23:10

B - wholemeal toast (healthy B) with a bit of butter 1syn and a banana
L - omlette made with 2 eggs and milk from healthy A, plus salad. Raspberry Skyr 0.5syn
D - spicy turkey mince and rice - free
Extras - an orange and a peach, plus (feeling a bit guilty about this) a small Mr Whippy ice cream in a cone 6.5 syns.
We live quite close to the seaside and went out for a walk on the prom this afternoon and there was a van there so I couldn't resist. We walked for 45 mins though so hopefully that counteracted the ice cream.I had an operation on my leg early in the year and it went wrong so I was on crutches until very recently and walking is still difficult. So whilst a stroll by the sea isn't much of a challenge for most people, it is for me and I reckon I deserved the treat.Grin
Have a nice weekend everyone,

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/07/2020 10:05

@MrsAvocet sorry to hear About your leg but don’t feel bad about syns and ice cream. It’s what they are there for

OP posts:
Hartleyhare1206 · 05/07/2020 10:41

@MrsAvocet it sounds like you totally deserved that icecream, both for your long recovery and for the good walk you did yesterday. I hope you enjoyed your afternoon by the sea xx

Well having stuck to plan for a week and staying between 5-10 syns per day (aside from the delicious and pretty healthy lunch with friend) I have.....stayed exactly the bloody same! I know it’s better than gaining but honestly, I’m so cross. Feels like I’ve been really good and declined things I want for nothing!
I’ve had an active week (I have a 3 year old!) and have done a good dog walk each day of between 30-60 mins. Feel like it’s been one of those weeks where I’ve done everything by the book but got no where. I’m contrast I was much more relaxed the week before and lost 2lbs...maybe it’s those relaxations catching up with me this week, or perhaps next week will see it all come good? Who knows. For now:

B - Greek yog with blueberries and strawberries

L - spinach and cheese rarebit (HEA & 1/2
Of HEB) with a poached egg and salad plus fruit for pud

D - kfc “fakeaway” (Rest of HEB for breadcrumbs) corn on the cob; SW chips and some left over home made caramelised onion humous with veg sticks (1 syn) plus small glass of red (5 syns)

S - fruit and a Cadbury’s little bar

JingleAndTonic · 05/07/2020 12:18

@MrsAvocet sounds like your ice cream was well and truly deserved! hope it was wonderful 🍦

@Hartleyhare1206 that's so frustrating, i think a few of us have been the same this week! hopefully next week the scales are kind to us and we get good losses

today i have had the last few milk tray chocs, at least that's them out the way now 🤦🏽‍♀️ ready to be good for the foreseeable!

L - bacon with scrambled egg and some
homemade hash brown

T - ruskoline breaded sole (6 syns) in a wholemeal roll (HEB) with tartare sauce (1.5 syns) i'm thinking it'll be a filet of fish sort of vibe, with SW chips and peas

S - strawberries with choc shot (1/2 syn) and a virtually syn free cheese scone (HEA)

i haven't actually made the scones yet so no idea if they're good but i hope they are!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/07/2020 12:26

@Hartleyhare1206 maybe up your syns. If having 5/10 a day you are missing 5/10 a day if allowed 15

So even If you have 10 that’s still 5 a day and 35 a week less

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 05/07/2020 12:40

@JingleAndTonic what is this virtually syns free scone. Can I have recipe please

B toast b bacon eggs beans butter 2

L fruit ham 1/2 Bagel thin 3

T roast dinner chicken pots veg Yorkie 2 apple sauce 1.5 gravey 1.5. So 5

S bar 5

OP posts:
Hartleyhare1206 · 05/07/2020 13:34

@JingleAndTonic yes, there seems to be something in the water...sugar and lard perhaps?! 😂😂 need to play the long game I know. Just a bit frustrated...with any luck we will all have a better week and be singing it from the rooftops over the coming days!

@Blondeshavemorefun you could be right...putting that to the test today - just made my spinach rarebit lunch and decided to make it properly not boringly healthily. It contained lots of free and speed foods so figured I may as well make it extra yummy by making a proper sauce not a “skinny”
One which I reckon added 2-3 syns to my tally. Reckon with the syns I’d already planned it brings me in at around 13 syns for the day.

The rarebit was LUSH btw...

fatgirlskinny.net/cheese-scones-slimming-world-recipe/ these are them, not sure how the person calculated the syns but i work it out as 1 syn per scone if you're making 7 and don't count the cheese as HEA!

i've made 14 thinner ones so they're half a syn each or syn free if you count the cheese as a healthy extra, which i think i'll do and have 2 😉 have also added a wee sprinkling of extra cheese to each one

just had a sample and they don't have that much of a scone consistency, they're a bit more like a potato cake but they're really tasty!
